  1. You get three character slots, I play on Arcadia. But it being a shard system, you can group up with people of different server shards. I'd suggest going to Arcadia for the roleplayers. Hehe, I posted the server listings in the original post. TSW does one thing right though, uniqueness when it comes to questing. You get 'figure out morse code', do polyhedral equations to binary, and such... as quests. Investigation and Sabotage Quests are the best!
  2. It isn't FTP though, it's buy to play; like Guild Wars 2 is now. You can still subscribe, so, in short; they just dropped the mandatory subscription; but what you get for subscribing is free points to buy the semi-monthly expansion packs and stuff in the store. They went FTP with Conan and regretted it ever since; So, most of the community in TSW are quite nice, considerate, and a lot roleplay because of its niche genre. (Key note, most, not all)
  3. I'm a Grandmaster in TSW (lifetime sub) and a CE Founder in TERA. Both games, its basically how it was when they were PTP (and both can be PTP), but with TSW's new buy mentality, it offers new content, new world content, and such that you can buy what you want. I like it more than GW2's gem market. Mainly because even though you can buy gems with gold in GW2, the living story is -meh-, because its all time sensitive.
  4. Steel, the majority of players on TSW are roleplayers; it has an active community now that it has turned to Buy to Play. Was at an event last night, there were fifteen roleplayers in one spot, went upstairs of the place, eight more!
  5. It wouldn't be exactly like it, but they do have healing. Pistols have drain HoTs from dealing damage, fists is the primary healing source, swords have healing too, rifles are drain heals, forgot about blood magic as was stated. Also, there is the Quantum Brace, basically mega-man healing. What I suggest doing is buying the Massive Edition of the game. Its the game and all its expansions.
  6. Other than FFXIV: ARR that you can find me in, if you want to play other games with me, I'm available for these games. Guild Wars 2: Eeza (Asura) [Xeravir.3561]*: Tarnished Coast The Secret World: Aijin (Illuminati), Ji-Su (Dragon), Orlaith (Templar): Arcadia Star Wars: The Old Republic: Azlayni (Republic), Dral'oxin (Empire): Ebon Hawk** I'm active primarily on The Secret World; if you don't see me in FFXIV, I am more than likely playing this game. I will play the other two as par requested. (Note: I on/off, but FFXIV and TSW are my main games) Hope to see you in many games as possible! Game On! *Note: Add this and you will see all my characters. **Note: If you want to return back to SWTOR or peep at it for the first time, use my referral link for extra goodies. http://www.swtor.com/r/sV74tH
  7. As with me and this whole lore thing. I think how it goes with the character story being the "first", not your character, but others have become the First in a while, meaning guess what, yup, you can be it too! There we go, lore bending instead of breaking, cause it makes no sense to be the first of everything if we all have the same quests! And yes, the robe is adorable. Super adorable. But I prefer the trench coat of the BLM.
  8. Yes, Balmung, come, yes. *nod nod* Welcome. Yes. Yes, indeed!
  9. Will be in game tomorrow for the new event for all my characters. I've been playing other games lately, from WoW with my old guildies (they paid me to help them raid, they had sucky tanks lol), and other non MMO games. BUT, I am still subbed here. Sorry for being on and off.
  10. I am still here and all my characters; just been busy with real life and getting over my sickness. I shall be on FFXIV and WoW soon. Yes, I play WoW also. I'd play GW2 instead but I have no peoples on there. So it's FFXIV and WoWs for me.
  11. Just glad my Miqo'te doesn't resemble my cat, if she did, she'd be destroying furniture, knocking over pots/vases (purposely), and eating people's in home topiary.
  12. For me, my Miqo'te isn't generally cat-like other than her tail and ears reaction; more so than that, she is more of a book worm type dorky girl. An Arcanist's/Scholar's job is never done! She has meowed once. More like mrowrl but it was out of a complete excitement moment like "WTF?!" type moment.
  13. I got sick at the most inopportune time ever. The day after the first of the year, I came down with the FLU of all things. >.< I missed four days of work; seeing as I don't get many work days as it is unless a big release, I'm hurting on the money front. Grr. Thank goodness I didn't spend all my holiday pay. I had to downgrade my sub to a month so I can afford it and still play at least. Don't you hate getting sick too? x.x
  14. Yes, the single father with children. That is so amazing; especially seeing how happy he is. It makes me all :cry::cry: to hear that back story.
  15. Here is also another method to see things and RP while still adhering to lore. You can be a White Mage, Dragoon, Whatever; as the world itself isn't set in static. As we all have the same type of personal story quests, with some of those aforementioned being a "first in a long time, et cetera" guess what, it doesn't mean it is the last. I look at it like this, the personal story quests for each job is basically a NPC perspective to pave the way for such Jobs to become back in full force of the player population. The Dragoon recruitment is becoming more relaxed now that people are showing the spirit, the White Mages are being granted and shown (still regulated) in power are reemerging in force to help with the new upcoming threats. In short, I see it as a coming of age type tale when it comes to the personal story as its so singular in its approach. So, sure, you can be so and such due to that one person that started the new chain of events. As well, as people with such professions in 1.0 also, perhaps they could teach their ways as well.
  16. As for the whole bit; Lorebending is required for some; for example, Lost River's secondary class (was primary, but no one) was Black Mage; She is also a 1.0 character. With her background, she was a basic thaumaturge that (with many others) undergone a special project to amplify her powers to that of a black mage by artificially creating a void touched; as void touched are more akin to the dark arts if they were a thaumaturge. It was somewhat of a (40% success rate) success in their attempt as was most of those who undergone its transformation. This was all done in part to help against the ensuring battle against the Empire. It worked, but at a serious cost; Lost's magic was amplified and she basically ended up killing her entire party (i.e. her husband and friends) as well as the enemy around her. The side effects of such also were in play, as her left eye almost seemingly moves on it's own, is red, and reflects light when shown directly against. As well, it colored her psyche to a more destructive nature. While it isn't directly in the lore, it is a plausible example of making a Black Mage, especially in times of desperation; it was also used in such to say 'not everyone is a Good Guy' in the end, not saying that Lost is a bad guy now, but the real aims of the project, were they only done for good? In short, with how this goes; it's easier to bend the lore or inject your own backing into the story as long as it rolls with the story to the part as if it was a "what if...", as mentioned earlier though, all the Jobs, but that of the Dragoon seem easier to manipulate to make it a valid RP place; Dragoon is far too "Chosen One", more so than White Mage ever could be.
  17. Welcome to the RP forums! Here's some milk and cookies! *hands both items* As for your toon reference, only toons I've seen were in ToonTown and that don't exist anymore.
  18. So far, the only thing I know is when comparable to Hyur, Elezen lifespans are somewhat expanded.
  19. And the Guado are based off of Voodoo and the Fair Folk. >.> Faeries, Everywhere!
  20. Great post. For me, I personally don't care what people have done or do. Roleplay is roleplay to me, be it a deeply intrigued plot about unmasking the coffee cake thief to that of a tussle in the sheets with a twin just to find out it was their sister/brother instead! (okay to many soaps). I personally don't mind either of the sort of RP, but never try to force either on people who don't want it. As well, the adult sort of roleplay should be kept in Party/Tell or such due to the game is T rated (borderline M due to it's content) and that sort of conduct isn't allowed publicly. It isn't like Second Life, for example, who has Adult Sims and such; in short, consenting adults, have a blast; just be mindful.
  21. I wouldn't call the Elezen alien proportions but more like Fair Folk proportions; they look like Gaelic Elves; I lol'd at the Lalafell statement. As for Miqo'te, they look almost like humans, but their eyes, fangs, tail, and ears; set them apart. But I do agree, they need some other moniker to fully set them apart. What, though.
