1. Rough ain't much of a ninja as much as he is a brawler with knives, but I personally like the simple things.
2. Haha, he's actually Roegadyn now! Hellsguard, actually. sorry to disappoint!
3. Here's my character, Rough Nomad. I really like this pic!
4. To be able to sleep the following night. No, really! Rough ain't a complicated guy, and sure he's been put in situations where there are either folks, a place, or something he earnestly wants to protect, but really cutting to the chase, he just wants to know he'll have another night he can peacefully cozy on up in that bed of his and just sleep. Forget about all the troubles and simply dream, snooze, and when he's fortunate enough, warm up next to someone special. He finds comfort in knowing he can have another one of those opportunities.
5. Daphne Khoo's track, I'm Not Giving Up
6. Old Fashioned, simply put. Whiskey Sours and Kentucky Mules are strong runners up, though!
7. If it's reached the point where I, as a player, am allowing another player's character to teeter their blade along my character's throat, I would assume we've already discussed, or at least brainstormed, what's happening or will happen. To add, if this were some random player and there was little-to-no buildup prior, then no, neither I nor my character will be taking the other player or (player's) character very seriously. It's in a similar vein where if one half-asses a paper and expects their professor to award them a stellar grade for their work. It's one thing to get into a random barfight, which I'm all for, but it's another to expect me to let you seriously maim or even kill my characters. Similarly, I'm not into the whole "you need to be such-and-such level if you seriously think your guy can oppose mine" bandwagon I see on a lot of MMOs. Far as I'm concerned, our characters are both mortal, and both products of our own writing with presumably equal effort behind them, thus they have as much opportunity to engage with mine as any.
8. I don't see any of them necessarily clashing with lore. Maybe the steeds I guess? But since Odin's is summoned along with him traditionally in the Final Fantasy games, I could only presume that similar creatures are also products of summoning. If anything, I think the Bomb Palanquin is lore-breaking if it seriously assumes it can handle the weight of my Roe's big arse!
9. What I just pictured in my head right now.
10. http://i940.photobucket.com/albums/ad242/koalatan_icons/Balthier/Balthier49.png[/img] With each passing day, the world finds new and exciting ways to kill a man. -Belthier Greetings gang. Name's Matt, but yall can call me Fuzz. I've had an on and off relationship with the game since it's second launch, and have since decided (since early December...) to stick with the game for the long haul. I've been a fan of the Final Fantasy series for a while; big turn-based RPG fan! Though I suppose most of the recent installments have been action-oriented, which I also love! I'm a college student in my second year looking to earn a degree in microbiology and living in Houston, Texas. My hobbies include hiking, cooking, and of course, video games. Anyhow, I could go on a tangent about how much of a roleplayer I am, but I think that ought to be assumed since I'm here! I've partaken in the activity for some time, but it's been a good two years since I've really participated in anything long-term. So, please forgive me if I'm a little rusty! Currently, I only have one active character, Rough Nomad on Balmung! He's my Highlander, Nolan Briggs, gone Miq'ote, gone hellsguard, and he's a real firecracker, or at least I like to think so! I'm sure I'll be posting plenty about him soon enough. But with that out of the way, it's an honor to be here and I really look forward to meeting and hanging out with all of you guys!
11. An Au Ra Hellsguard hybrid would probably look pretty wicked!
12. Currently, it better to rely on the mob's actual cast-bar than the marker itself. On some fights, particularly those involving many players, you might not see the marker until it's too late. If you're familiar with the enemy's mechanics however, and remember to look out for their cast bar, it's typically pretty easy to get out of the way in time. Of course, this is coming from a tank. It's my job to be on the lookout for casting.
13. http://i.imgur.com/dXjAOue.png[/img] "Damn, confounded fog, . Goddess Llymlaen, are you secretly a tribulation enthusiast?" Good afternoon everybody, forum-dwellers and lurkers alike. I have to say, I've waded through a number of community sites over the years, for this game and that, and it goes without saying that this is one of the more finely polished I've seen. Which I suppose shouldn't be too much of a surprise, given the quality of the game itself, and the hospitality I've seen from the community therein. Bah! But enough kissing of the backside, my name's Briggs. Or, that's my handle anyhow. You guys should feel free to refer to me as Matt if you'd like. I'll be sure to respond to whatever you have to say. I've been a roleplayer (and MMO player) for roughly ten or so years now - give or take - with my most recent experiences having been in Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft, as well as various other smaller hotspots such as Mortal Online, The Secret World, Rift, and Eve. Being blunt: it's been a while since I've actually settled down and done some real heavy immersion dipping. Drama and hardships along with the general lethargy of being burnt out from the same-thing same-deal has put me off of my big two. Lack of community (as a whole) involvement or just general boredom, the rest. Most of what I've done the past couple of months consists of monologue with the occasional story snippet hidden away on the hardrive. But times are changing and I want to get back into it. I miss the excitement - the thrill of active roleplay and working with people. I'd been following ARR's developments for a few months now and finally decided to give it a shot with the beta-prepurchase deal a few short weeks ago, and I've been enjoying the heck out of it. Be it the class design, game mechanics or general campiness you see displayed in many of the quests ingame, I'm enjoying it all. To add to that, it all feels extremely fluid and polished, very atypical for an MMO*. Anyway, I'll stop my rambling. Been doing enough of that. It's a pleasure to meet you lot and I'm looking forward to meeting you guys, be it here or ingame. Hopefully both. Lastly, I'm down for just about anything, whether it's roleplay, dungeons, leves, or what have you. Oh! Before I forget... I've made the decision to roll on Balmung, and if you ever want to reach me, just look up Nolan Briggs.
