  1. Just to get the word out there, my group is looking for a long term Paladin (through Heavensward) for our raiding static. We've had some bad luck losing tanks for various reasons, mainly real life conflicts coming up in short notice, so with this in mind we absolutely want to make sure whoever comes next can plan on dedicating a good few months with the group. Our group is not hardcore, we are fairly light hearted and have fun most every night. Though we aren't hardcore, we are serious and motivated to get progress. We also make an effort to focus on other 8 man content, not purely Coil, though it is a main focus being the main raiding instance currently. We are going to be a bit picky with who we choose, simply to ensure that everyone can get along and attitudes can blend well, but we are absolutely willing to talk with who is interested. For some idea of our progress, we've cleared T9 three times for a few spare members that helped us along, and got to 54% with offspec players our first night in T10. (Not that it's necessarily hard). Times we raid: Wed, Fri, Sat, 4:30-8pm Est, 10:30-1am GMT Sometime's extra times on Sunday, depending on progress and availability. EDIT: The role has been filled
  2. Tossing my little bit in, since my character happens to be heavily tied with voidsent right now. Do a lot of people actually IC summon these? I haven't seen much besides Zeraia and I, but I don't get out much either~ My character does it because she was blinded by her means to get power and Zeraia used her, but after nearly dying she's trying to erase all traces of it and is a wreck right now. People can RP however they want, but voidsent's only goal once they set foot in Eorzea is 'eat aether', and our characters are aether and will die if they aren't controlled somehow, or become enthralled. It's a very real concern, depending on the kind summoned.
  3. Unfortunately no. Days are negotiable but the times are pretty set, due to jobs and real life things.
  4. Raid group looking for new members. 'Off the Cuff' is looking for a Bard, Caster, Whm and Sch for Coil progression and primal clears, and other 8 man content. We are fairly skilled raiders reconstructing a group for serious progression, but ultimately looking to have fun. Having been in Phase 2 of Turn 9, we're honestly not really looking to backtrack through T6-T8, but if you are confident in your skill to catch up quickly and stay on par, we are open to discussion. Current jobs: War, Pld, Drg, Nin We will have brief interviews with each person to determine compatibility, we want to keep a close, fun group. After some previous experiences, it's our main concern to keep a friendly and welcome environment, we all know how hard it is to maintain a sane group of 8 people. We want to make sure we all fit together and progress swiftly. Please have a solid idea of the job you want to play longterm, switching jobs around isn't ideal as we go along. Of course 3.0, and possibly even 2.5 will bring necessary discussions, but we'll cross that when we get there. Mumble required, at least to listen. No FC required. Linkshell preferred. Times: 5:30-8pm Est, 10:30-1am GMT. Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sat, 3-4 days a week, the days are negotiable. Monday/Sunday is not an option Send N'taeyl Yhash or N'exantra Tia a /tell in game, or PM me here! Looking forward to meeting people!
  5. Looking to see if anyone would like to take the chance to help N'taeyl learn to tame her natural disposition to indulging in rage as she learns the intricacies of axe mastery. Having been so long since I did the quest, I don't really remember how rare warriors are lore wise and all, so I'm not super picky or particular about definitions. Just looking for guidance on the axe and taming the rage. Edit: This role has been fulfilled!
  6. So, while the game is unavailable and it happens to be my day off tomorrow, I will more than likely be updating GW2 and hopping back on to itch the itch it's been giving me. Does anyone else feel like joining in for some brief RP? Or stumbling through WvW as we remember how to play or equally silly. I have too many characters to list off, but I will likely be using the guy in my signature. If anyone else is interested, hit me up in PM or post here! Also, Tarnished Coast.
  7. I believe Crystal Tower was meant to be available on release of 2.0, wasn't it? For whatever reason it was delayed. But given that notion, I don't think it was intended to be difficult, which it still is if people don't do their roles properly. Even without bikini snowmen, it is possible to wipe on the Bone Dragon three consecutive times. That many randomly grouped people are bound not to communicate well, and they already bitch at each other defensively if someone messes up. Making tougher fights would make it unenjoyable for me personally. CT is currently meant to be a gear bridge between Darklight and Coil, even if CT can't even compare to Coil difficulty. Now, would I enjoy tougher fights? Absolutely, but NOT with 24 random people. If I could make a full alliance of people I'm at least familiar with from my server, that'd be fun. I refer to Dynamis from FFXI because it's all I'm familiar with, and other 18 man fights in that game.
  8. I think a lot of people are frustrated with their RP experience lately, myself included. I have a small group with a plot ongoing, which is very welcome to outside people to join, but without that it feels like the only place to find strangers to RP with is the Quicksand - which my main character hates. This is also a down period between major updates, however this game seems to have a biiiig lag time of activity between updates. It's also still considered a new release, I guess players being less interested between updates is typical. As mentioned, the best option is to go to the public events to meet people. If they don't feel like socializing at those events then they're idiots anyway, why would you go!?
  9. Throwing in my support for interest. None of my characters would be involved in seeing this happen, but adding to the head count helps. I would be happy to help however I can OOCly, watching a big scene unfold is always fun if executed properly!
  10. I've finally set up imgur for all my crap. I'm keeping an album for screenshots I try to take for desktop quality, but most of them aren't edited. I just took them on a whim. BEHOLD
  11. Because everyones thinking it, or else I'm coming out as a masochist, but either way! The more and more I play XIV the more I find myself missing XI in ways I never really thought I would. When I quit, I was sick of the game. But now I dunno if I'd mind picking it back up, if it wasn't trying to kill itself. So for the sake of venting or praising, this thread can be about stories, screenshots, anything about your days on XI! About how magical it was, and how equally evil it was. What I miss the most right now, are the Airship rides and boat rides. WHAT is the point of having instant Airship rides in XIV and teleports, when it's literally a factor of 5-10 minutes vs 50-400 gil? Give me scenery to enjoy! Or in our case, another RP element! In XI you could see actual landmarks passing by under the ship, you knew how far or how close you were. Same with the boat rides. I'd love to have that option back. Along with missing the rides by an inch...every time. I miss the traveling. Even if it was time consuming, in light of instant gratification nowadays and 'casual gaming' (No offense intended), it has made me miss the immersion such travel offered. And the world we had to travel in was great! It was big, interesting and beautiful areas. Nothing has compared to that first time trekking across La Theine Plateau, and discovering the enormous rampaging ram coming after my blood as I desperately ran for San d'Oria. And speaking of bloody thirsty monsters, I kinda miss actually worrying I may die if I charge through a pack of aggressive mobs. XIV, they have their own little bubble, will almost never catch you, and very low risk of dying. In XI, they either killed you or chased you till you zoned, or ran halfway across the map. The thrill of terror running through the Past for the first time! To start off the story telling, a favorite incident of mine: Fresh fighters, my friends and I were. Joining Campaign in Rolanberry Fields. Waiting for the Quadav wave to arrive, we idled. And somewhere along the way, we had learned that spamming Job Abilities helped increase your reward total, so my Monk friend was doing such. Focus, Chakra, Boost. And Provoke. But, there's no mobs around so Provoke won't do anything, right? Him: WHAT, IT HIT SOMETHING!? Oh just a fairy-*fairysmack*-WHAT THE F-*punch*-HELP MEEEEE-*dead* Me: AhahahaaaAAAAA IT'S COMING AFTER ME NOW! Damn thing chased me around the entire fortress and started going after other party members! I nearly got killed I was laughing so hard. Was great. So unless I'm the only one feeling the need to reminisce, pitch in on your funny/awesome/horrible stories too!
  12. If I had transmutation crystals and slightly different hair, I'd role my hyur midlander in a heartbeat. He's a fun character I'd like to play. Less than noble, but manipulative charm with a talent for street magic and pickpocket tricks. I don't usually play such a conniving character so I'd like to get into it, but laazzzyyyyyleveellinngg.
  13. For the record, I just wanted to throw my thought out there. Nothing is sacred from the sense of good humor. I really hope we get to see more NPC tribes soon, the world feels so small as it is. And for our first and only tribe to be an odd one out is...strange. Would also be nice to see some small keeper gatherings, even though they aren't super social.
  14. Thank you. I am so tired of seeing people hate nunh for being a man whore. I had only a fleeting moment of dislike when I first heard about them, but it really is JUST a social structure. And, they rarely lead. He's just a buff guy that makes babies, healthy good babies. Having said that though, sure there's room for a tribe to go off the wall and establish some extreme order. Ultimately those won't last (I would think) but it's there if you want your tribe to be crazy. But to stereotype every nunh as some male womanizer is ridiculous.
  15. Throwing in my two cents as well, since now I've made two miqo'te. I find human characters to be boring. I'd rather be something I can't be in real life, so pretty much what others have already said here. As for miqo'te, even if they aren't portrayed in such a way very well, I do enjoy the feral ferocity of them, which I think was actually shown better in XI because the human animations were girlier, mithra were fairly neutral. My main miqo'te, N'taeyl, is rude and inconsiderate to peoples feelings and tends to keep her distance from people, with a hidden gem of valiance to those in need. Aside from the miqo'te, I do also have a roegadyn I enjoy playing, it just sucks leveling an alt sorta. I dislike seeing SO many miqo'te, but I've seen plenty of RPers that aren't. This game certainly attracts a lot more than RP, and those players likely picked cats for the stereotypical reasons. Good thing they don't RP.
  16. Have fun trying to get a compromised layout on where the couch goes, what angle, what bush goes in front of that pillar, what wallpaper is conductive for a creative environment, and so on. When I'm designing something, especially housing, get out of my way and I'll tell you when I'm ready for opinions! That will probably just create tons of tensions and do the opposite of bringing us together >.> I'd rather just not have a house than have one and not get to have a chance to add my own flare to it, without compromising with 15 other people.
  17. If I understand this thread correctly, we're posting tribes that we brilliant roleplayers set up? If so, I can add the (apparently only tribe in existance) Aldgoat name on there. There's only two of us that actually belong to it, some details worked out but nothing super extensive. But we exist! I swear there's only like three Aldgoat players on the damn server. But that's okayyy, the tribe I have in mind is a little small anyway.
  18. This is more tame than what I said in the middle of busy Ul'dah...I think anyway. I didn't use any slurs but I basically said "He better not be doing that, jerk". Completely out of context but the single sentence that made its way into /say just...made me run in horror. It's not even worth explaining in context because even my reason for saying it could be misconstrued! No one said anything on it but I was right by the retainer, marketboard... plenty of people had to have seen it <_< It's funny now though.
  19. Not that this is probably news to anyone, but Dell KINDA REALLY SUCKS NOW! But if it happens to be: take this into heavy consideration before buying ANYthing from Dell from now on. I'm not asking for advice on what was wrong, I'm just sharing my experience and venting because I am pissed. I know everyone tried to steer me away from Dell, but I figured it was simply because custom built is cheaper and probably a little better. In a nutshell, I wanted a new computer for christmas last year. I'm hopelessly computer illiterate so after much discussion I figured it'd be better to just get Alienware, what could possibly go wrong? First the power button started messing up about 2-3 weeks ago. Then the fans are acting up. We clean it out, not very dusty, start doing routine checks and updates before calling Dell. See a recommended BIOS update through dell.com, so we do it. Prompts to reboot....and it freezes. Stops working, but the fans are going nuts at a frightening rate. So force shut down, turn it back on...and it's gone. Won't even boot up. Call Dell, first thing they say "Never do a BIOS update without calling, your HD just crashed because of it." ....really. Really? Are you fucking kidding me. Not a single warning "THIS MAY CRASH YOUR HARD DRIVE! But it's highly recommended." So it's busted. Dell guy came out today, and after 6 hours we've determined: The CPU fan was failing for unknown reasons. The parts they sent to replace what they suspected was broke, aren't even the right parts and THOSE parts don't even WORK. This guy was as pissed off as I am, waste of both our days. I think after blowing 2 grand on this piece of shit I'll gladly sit down for a week and learn how to build my own damn computer. So, if anyone would like to share reputable places to get parts I'd love you forever. I'm not convinced my computer will be salvaged to its original state.
  20. Guess I should click links and read more. But that's good, and a good thing I'm trying to level every craft anyway. I went nuts with my Mog House in XI, and any game with room decorating actually. I can't wait to get my hands on this stuff, and I hope my FC doesn't have an equally enthusiastic decorator.
  21. Am I missing a mention of how we acquire such furnishings? And I certainly hope 50% of them aren't styled after every cute or common enemy in the game. I'd really like to see some of the crafts being able to create some housing items, almost all of the crafts could do something for decorations. Botanist getting plants, Fishing getting the nice smelly fish on the wall, Goldsmith making intricate trinkets, they could all be useful!
  22. Then you must quote every single thread complaining about similar things. I've only recently gotten over the sit animation for my miqo'te thanks to imagination...but I doubt I'll ever use that bed animation until I can get a faceplant on the pillow.
  23. ...N'taeyl would rather be picking her nose than lay like that. We just need to hope for more options for future things. Plenty of male cats are sick of not having a real sit either, and highlander females I bet. Quite a few emotes don't seem like the developers gave a second thought on them. Good thing we have IMAGINATION!
