1. I admit, I had to do a bit of retconnin' for Xydane's and his brother's background. Also, would it be consider retconning if you had to change the name of an important NPC character whom is related to your character's backstory because there is an actual NPC in-game with the same exact name? FML.
2. Like most members have already said, you can use parchment as a sort of transfer method and just to repeat Olofantur's idea: The parchment/document would require a signature from the bank, yourself, and your receiver in some sort of meeting? A secured transfer with all of you as witness? Now, if you want to talk physical transfer, perhaps an carriage drawn transportation surrounded by armed guards? This could also be made into a RP scene/event if you want? I'm just throwing out the idea.
3. This seems fun! I'll post 5 things! 1) Xydane doesn't always act like the "badass he thinks he is" 24/7. In fact, a handful of people have seen him is his comical carefree side. These people are: - Jajara Jara (Barfights!) - Clover Blake (Xydane gets weird feelings in his stomach.) - Orpheus Arkouda (See that guy? Let's go hurt that guy.) - Rinette Molkoh (More barfights!) - Kiht Jakkya (Best person to act bipolar as hell in front of.) - Osric Melkire (Second best person to act even more bipolar in front of.) - Kyraeth Vale (We haz the same last name!) - Crisiet Liautroix (Best Elezen to piss off and mindf**k at the same time! Come at me, bro!) - Enju Abbagliato (Yep, I'm just sleeping underneath this tree. You can take my sword if you want, lolz.) - Haruko Kokojo (You see that heavily guarded Ishgardian City? Let's go storm that city.) - Aya Foxheart (Oh, I'm not a killer in a cloak. Don't mind me, I'm just a Super Moogle. I deliver... stuff... for the Moogles.) - Jancis Milburga (Makes Xydane feel bad when she takes care of him.) 2. Xydane's past lover shares the same resemblance as Clover Blake! 3. Xydane's father, Kraven Vale, served under the Maelstrom a long time ago. 4. Though Kraven served under the Maelstrom, Kraven's family actually lived extremely far away in an undisclosed part in Eorzea. 5. Xydane and his brother Marcus are not Ishgardian born.
4. Like Aldotsk said, you can always modify something if it's inaccurate to lore. It's nobody's fault, it's just that we're given such a small amount of info. on that land that we end up using only what we know without trying to break lore. I believe I have read up on at least three characters on the FFXIV RPC Wiki whom hail from the Far East. In fact, I even made NPC characters that lived in the east for my story "Unrelenting" . Best of luck with creating your character and fleshing out his/her background!
5. Spring release? Awesome, this gives me a chance to get my stuff together and prepare! There's going to be so much RP potential in this expansion! Hey Exiles, it's gonna be a big one for y'all!
6. yup, a simple popoto sack could do the trick now. :c so mean I give thanks to Franz for giving me the new idea. In fact, I won't poke holes into the sack when I attempt to kidnap Kage again - I mean, put small moving things into bags. Like puppies. Yeah... puppies.
7. B-but I don't wanna unlock the class. Q.Q *Stares at his level 50 WAR and 25 Glad... and twitches* Improvising is now needed.
8. Xydane doesn't have shit to do now. Count me in and this Sunday would sound great! I don't have a Pulgist though so fight stance animation may be a bit... troublesome.
9. Yep, Xydane has done all of that stuff and maor! (I know, I'm late on my reply to Unnamed Merc and Osric.) I would like to think my character as neither a bad guy nor a good guy; it gives RP more opportunity not to mention personality and trait progressing as I try to further forge who and what he really is. On a side note: I have been told that Kage is back to being a Lala nao. I guess that means kidnapping him would be a hell of a lot easier than knocking out a full grown male Miqo'te with a wooden plank and then placing him inside a rolled carpet like what some South American terrorists would do when they kidnapz people.
10. I'll definitely try to make it and I'll be happy to have Xydane on guard detail.
11. Woah, woah, woah! Don't get it twisted! *Waves hands dismissvely* That Crimson Chin pic was just once and I had my laugh. Also, I have never stated that Xy was in anyway, shape, or form, a "hero." I'm just here to read the comments! *Grabs a bag of popcorn*
12. I'm sorry, you guys are making this too easy for me!
13. This is how you guys are making me feel right now. Fine! Who needs to join the evil club anyways!?
14.
15. Oh my, it looks like this whee little group could use a side of...
16. "Clever girl..." I couldn't resist. Also because I love JP will all my adoring heartz. :3
17. Well... Xydane hates every single race equally. Does that count?
18. So this tells all of us one single thing... ... wait for it... ... whoever constructed those buildings hates Lala's. *Sagenod*
19. Matron's teats, I've finally been caught! <_<; And at such an embarrassingly glorious moment for poor Sounsyy too. Trying to discreetly find a place to vomit... OMFG! Her main is now on Balmung?!?! (She was on a different server before, right?) *Begins hunt for the rare Sounsyy* Run Sounsyy, RUN!!!
20. Xydane was taken back by the Miqo’te’s response to his question, or rather lack of. He was expecting a simple reply, perhaps an agreeing nod of sorts, anything to confirm her readiness to continue their mission. Her sudden outburst succeeded in halting the Hyur from continuing forward. He turned around and watched her move towards Clover. As she spoke, Xydane unconsciously tightened his grip around the hilt of his axe. His eyebrows furrowed deeper the longer Kiht spoke. Anger continued to manifest within him but he said no retort and continued to listen in silence. He initially planned to just wait out the Miqo’te’s rambling, ignore it and continue on with their mission, but her last words broke his silence. “-and stop only thinking about the safety of this one woman." “You know nothing,” Xydane snarled. “Would you rather I ignore the safety of ‘this one woman’?” he asked jeeringly as he closed the distance between himself and the Miqo’te. His eyes narrowed as he glared at her. “She may be just one woman, but she is worth protecting. I don’t know what the hell you are hoping to accomplish but if you put her in harm’s way,” he paused, tilting his head lower so that he was close enough within earshot for her to hear his whispered warning. “…I’ll kill you.” He took a step back from her and turned his back to the rest of the company. “I’m done wasting time here. Decided what you’ll do but I’m going ahead regardless.” With that, the Hyur dashed off, leaving behind the others and continuing ahead with only the scattered thunder and the pitter patter of rain as his company.
21. And there it was; a voice that shifted the atmosphere. Xydane turned from Kiht to Clover, a small smirk rested momentarily on his lips before fading as quickly as it came. Xydane had expected Clover would give some sort of rebuttal. He’s been around her long enough to know she would not stay behind so submissively. But even so, her willingness to fight did not change the danger of the mission. But before he could deny her, Andre had spoken. "He's right," Xydane agreed. "It's too dangerous for you to come along. I won't forgive myself if anything happened to you." As he spoke against her coming with them, he could not deny the hovering temptation. No doubt having a conjurer alongside would be an advantage. But her safety outweighed the advantage. He gave a small smile as he kept his resolve. “Go with Andre, you'll be safe with him.” He paused for a moment before finally giving his farewell. “When I return, I want to see what new flowers you have grown.” Xydane glanced towards Andre, reminding him once more to protect Clover. “I trust you will not fail,” he warns before shifting his tone as he turns back to Kiht. If they dawdled on any longer, the Ixal tracks would surely disappear. The sprinkling of rainfall above would soon become downpour. It was time for their departure. “Are you ready?” he says to the Miqo'te.
22. I shot you a PM instead of an email only because if I do it by email, attaching the pictures will make everything confusing as hell. Hehe.
23. I was wondering why the site wouldn't load but I had a theory that the RPC was being worked on. Good stuff though!
24. Xydane said nothing as he listened to the private’s report. He turned to Gregson and spoke, nodding towards the direction of the wounded Lalafell. “Make sure she becomes well,” he said, “I’ll take my leave, then.” The Hyur turns and exits. ________________________________________________________________ Xydane stood leaning against the wall, his arms crossed in front of chest and his hood down as he spoke to the Inquisitor. “The whole thing’s been a complete mess. Not only did the Immortal Flames saw Mynhier but one of the heretics confirmed it before he died. Mynhier has escaped and is on his way back home as we speak.” The air was dark and the room barely lit with a few candles burning here and there. Xydane watched Maulcrioux behind his wooden desk as the Elezen set aside his quill and interlocked his fingers in front of his face. “Very well,” Maulcrioux replied, “You have done well. The political tension during this situation would have erupted into chaos between Ul’dah and Ishgard if something was to happen to Erik Mynhier. Just like what happened with the ‘Faces of Mercy.’ Now that’s Erik is gone, we can now finally focus our attention on internal conflicts.” He paused for a moment, pushing a tilted piece of paper back in place so that the stack on his desk was even and orderly. “Xydane?” “Yeah?” the Hyur replied, his voice slightly echoing off the cobblestone walls. “Those Elezen… what did you find out about them?” Maulcrioux had turned his gaze from the ink and parchment resting on his table, his full attention back to Xydane. “They're not with the assassins and I think this group is working for someone else entirely,” Xydane replied. “Enemies within the city itself.” There was a brief silence before Maulcrioux responded. “… I see. The reports to House Fortemps shall be mine to handle. I’m sure they are eager to know if the problem has been resolved." Xydane nodded in agreement. “Right.” Maulcrioux stood from behind his desk and made his way to the nearest window. He watched the snow blanket the keep in white for a few moments before speaking, his back still turned to the Hyur. “Send word to Césaire and Marcus and tell them to ride back to Dragonhead.” “I was going to see them anyways,” Xydane answered, already halfway to the door.
