  1. ((Longish post, mostly dialogue to wrap up everything for those who could not attend.)) Elza stared in sadness at the Mavanix Mansion ruins. She had never even really been inside beyond the foyer. She recalled being summoned to Ulâdah when Cartius revealed her as his heir to the house. The mansion had already been damaged then. Now, after the battle with Veronica and the other Mavanix leaders, it was completely destroyed. A manor with so much history was now nothing but history. Footsteps coming from the other side of the courtyard startled Elza, though she quickly smiled upon realizing it must have been the mercenaries of Shimmersong, Everwatch, and Corvus Cinis returning from their mission safely. The matriarch turned to the approaching footsteps, her smile quickly fading as her expression turned to one of disbelief. "Father?!" Cartius smiled at Elza warmly, his scarlet robe dancing ever so faintly in the gentle breeze. "Hello, Elza...my beautiful queen of the night." "How...you were killed?" Elza couldn't help but control the overwhelming emotion coming over her. "My death was staged," Cartius said matter-of-factly. "I had to go under the radar in order to protect our family." "Our family is dead!" Elza fought back tears as she tried to take in her father's presence before her. "How in the hell did you protect us?" "Elza, our family is very much alive." Cartius took several steps forward, placing both hands gently on his daughter's shoulders. "I am not a Mavanix, nor are you or Kylin. We belong to House Felstar, a family that has been tormented by the Mavanix clan for too long now." "Felstar?" Elza gazed at her father in deep confusion. "How does that...oh gods. You're Cardinal Felstar? Aren't you?!" The matriarch quickly shoved the man's hands away from her and backed several feet up. "You're behind all of this madness?!" "I had to do whatever necessary to protect our family," Cartius said with a deep frown. "Surely you understand. House Mavanix had to fall. You can't begin to know the extent of the torture they bestowed upon our family. Ever since Anabelle and beyond, we have all suffered enough at their mercy. I was content to let slide the fact that they kidnapped me as an infant and passed me off as a Mavanix, but I could not forgive their killing of my beloved Sophia and nearly killing my son in the process. It was clear what I had to do when I uncovered these horrid truths." "So you had them all killed?" Elza looked in horror at her father. "Nina, Kalara, Balthazor, Ekidnah, Xaliel...And, oh my gosh. Those documents I found detailing Ivan's atrocities beneath the academy?" "I ensured that you 'stumbled' across those documents, knowing that you'd threaten to shut Ivan down and he'd try to retaliate. And when he did retaliate, bringing in mercenaries helped bring the atrocities to the public eye and caused the Mavanix Academy to crumble. Just as I planned." Elza continued to stare in utter shock at the man. "And Margarah?!" Cartius smiled faintly as he recounted his manipulations. "Ah, yes. One of my undercover men planted the idea of a fashion duel in Nina and Kalara's minds. Had they won, they'd have broke Margarah away from House Mavanix and cause another blow before I killed them both and watched Margarah implode afterwards. But instead, they failed and were publicly humiliated before the same thing happened anyway. The end result of the competition meant little to me as it would all be the same, but the extra blow to Nina and Kalara's egos was certainly entertaining before I finished them off. You choosing Everwatch as your representatives was quite a bold and risky move. I'm proud of you." Elza held her hand up to her chest, trying to take in all of the horrors she was listening to. "The Templars...Kiba...GIN." "I sent Vertigo to kill Kiba, yes. And we ensured that the artifact was delivered to the goblins so that yet another of the house's resources would crumble, further bringing the house closer to its demise. And yes, I was responsible for persuading the goblins to attack Balthazor's manor on that night of the family meeting. But worry not, my dear. I made it crystal clear to Juravis and GIN that you and Kylin were not to be harmed. Xaliel either, as I still had plans for him..." "Plans...?" Elza could barely think any longer. The fact that someone could plot all of this so masterfully was shocking enough. The fact that someone would do it at all was shocking even more. "Someone had to take the fall for it all," Cartius stated with a faint smile. "I certainly wasn't going to. Xaliel was set up to take the blame for all of this. Well, he and the mercenaries that you hired as well." "What?!" Elza gasped as she realized that the mercenaries were set up all along. "That's right," Cartius continued. "Shimmersong, Everwatch, and Corvus Cinis were too close to the truth. So I had to ensure that their credibility was destroyed and them taking the fall for everything was the best manner to do so. I've sent documents by courier to the Syndicate giving irrefutable evidence to their role in House Mavanix's destruction. Them being at the right place at the right time and being watched by a journalist certainly helps solidify the case against them. So they'll be criminals by the morrow no doubt. But Elza, those documents also contain proof that you are not a Mavanix, and as such did not meet my will's requirements to take over in my stead." "So the Syndicate will dissolve House Mavanix entirely," Elza said with a glare at her father. "And I'll be made to look like I was trying to use the house for its money and resources. All the while, the mercenaries will be on the run from Ul'dahn authorities for destroying the house." "If Juravis hasn't killed them by now, yes." Cartius walked toward Elza once more. "You must leave Ul'dah immediately. My plans are complete now and another of our family's enemies are no more. Come with me and your brother to Ishgard so that I can keep you safe. Ishgard is far more beautiful and rich in culture than this city anyway. Come with me, my dear daughter." Elza glared at the man for a long moment before pounding her fists at him. The cardinal raised his arms to defend himself as the matriarch screamed at him with tears streaming down her cheeks. "You bastard! You used me! You used Kylin! You manipulated everyone and murdered an entire family! Do you have any idea how much we cried?! Do you even care?!" As she stopped her assault and took several steps back, Elza removed the black queen chess piece around her neck and threw it to the ground. Cartius frowned at the sight as he straightened himself back up. "You and Kylin are what's most important to me. I did this all to protect you from them. So that you would not have to deal with their lies, deceit, and backstabbing like every other generation of the Mavanix family has dealt with. I'm sorry that you were hurt so badly. But this will only make you stronger. As for the mercenaries, who cares what fate awaits them? They are nothing but insignificant worms next to people like us. Come with me to Ishgard, Elly. I need to protect you." "Go to hell," Elza stated with a cold stare before she turned her back on Cartius. Cartius let out a deep sigh. "Very well. I will be waiting for you should you ever change your mind. In the meantime, you should leave the city before tomorrow. I do not want to see you receive the wrath of Ul'dahn authorities. I'll be waiting for you in Ishgard. Until then, be well my queen of the night." Elza bit her lip quietly before finally turning around to scream some more at her father. He was gone though, just as quickly as he had arrived. The fallen matriarch turned back to the mansion rubble and gazed at it. House Mavanix was finished, all because of one man's paranoia and tyranny. And anyone who had tried to help the once noble house was now in more danger than ever. Elza fell to her knees, a gentle breeze blowing into the manor courtyard the only sound aside from her quiet sobbing.
  2. Just a note that I will mention multiple times on the day of the event: DO NOT KILL THE MOBS INSIDE THE RP EVENT LOCATION. They share a placeholder spawn timer with other mobs that aggro. Should the aggro mobs pop, it will greatly disrupt the RP. I will be ensuring that the aggro mobs are replaced with the non-aggro mobs just before the event. So as long as nobody kills the mobs to show off or out of boredom, we should be fine. Also, here's another teaser just because. My selected theme music for the final battle  [spoil][bBvideo 425,350] [/bBvideo][/spoil]
  3. I'm pretty open to anything to be honest. I'd rather not spend /too/ much time planning something as small as a crest considering it will be slightly irrelevant after Saturday's event save for historical context . I like the idea of using a combination of a mining pick, the apparatus, and flames. Anything related to House Felstar likely wouldn't be used though due to early complications between the two houses (IE: Anabelle's affair with Juravis).
  4. It's supposed to have a crest but I never got around to officially making one >.>
  5. The following letter arrives at the HQs of Everwatch, Corvus Cinis, and Shimmersong: Friends, An informant of mine who managed to briefly get into Ishgard has discovered that a "Cardinal Felstar" will be going on a short pilgrimage to a temple in Thanalan several suns from now. I will continue to have my associates keep tabs on the situation. His scheduled trip is for the 14th sun at the 20th bell. Please meet me at the Mavanix Mansion ruins for a quick briefing and preparations. This will, hopefully, bring the nightmare to an end once and for all. I hope to see you all soon. Please keep this information confidential. Should the cardinal learn of our planning of an assault, he could cancel his trip and we would possibly lose our one and only chance to end this madness. Warm wishes, Elza Ashfen Mavanix ((OOC-- When: Saturday, July 14th at 8pm EST Where: Starts at mansion ruins (thm guild) Details: Finale to the House Mavanix story. Will include obligatory and cliche looong monologue by villain to wrap up story elements, an epic battle, and a wrap-up that deals with the fallout that will follow. Will need to form one party at the event start for instanced fight. Should we have more attendees than a full party, a second party will be formed and be given their own separate battle. Misc. Notes: The end of this story will transition involved groups/individuals into a new 'storyline,' though it will differ from the House Mavanix plot in that there won't be many (if any) planned events. It will largely be a spur of the moment, as-you-go type of thing that will constantly be changing depending on individual choices. The new arch will help bring groups together and possibly create enemies amongst some depending on the choices made by individuals and/or linkshells. The story will also be meant to keep RPers together for the 7th Umbral happenings as we all head into 2.0 with a dramatic finish to 1.0 ^^ ))
  6. Those are really good actually ^^. Cartius looks a bit skinnier than I envision but everything else looks great. I especially like how Julius turned out.
  7. It's okay if the style is different than the other portraits. If you REALLY want to, you can redo them all. But that might be quite a task. Looking forward to what you come up with!
  8. Bump to remind everyone that this is tomorrow. I still haven't seen any of the characters I need created so if anyone is willing to do that, let me know ASAP. I'll be at work all day today and tomorrow so there's not a lot of time left for preparations. Should I be unable to find anyone willing/able to create the characters, I'll simply assign 3 event attendees control of the characters and we'll just have to pretend they're there . Also, the story posts (Avalon Profiles) are mostly done now. The short story with some info about the Soulfire Apparatus is done ("When Fire Reigns"). The "Long Live House Mavanix" story only has one post remaining, which will come after the finale. Hope to see a big turnout tomorrow!
  9. Approximately 50 years ago... "Rochelle, clearly it's time for us to come clean. This is going too far now." Julius leveled a gaze at his dark-haired wife. "We can't continue this sham any longer." The well dressed noblewoman stared daggers at her husband. "Have you even met your mother, Julius? Veronica is extremely protective of her family, especially of you. You've only recently discovered what she's done to some of your past lovers who didn't pass her judgment. Are you not at all concerned about what she'll do to me if she finds out?" Julius scoffed at his wife, running a hand through this blond hair momentarily. "I love you deeply. And I can handle my mother!" "No you can't!" Rochelle was shouting at the top of her lungs now. "She's Veronica Mavanix, damn it! Nobody in this family can 'handle' her! She wants us to have another child immediately and she always gets what she wants. The pressure has been mounting more and more." "So lying to her about being pregnant was your solution?" Julius gazed at his frantic wife in deep thought. "Telling her I was incapable of having any more children would have /certainly/ gone over better. She is beyond ruthless, and she has the sheer power to back that quality up. It's hard not to panic in her presence. But if she finds out I lied, do you know what she'll do to me? The same thing she did to Gabrielle no doubt." "If you wish to proceed with this plan, so be it," Julius said with a faint sigh. "But it will not be easy to fool my mother. We'll need to go about this carefully and execute it flawlessly. So just follow my lead." The patriarch-to-be turned to the butler who was standing quietly in the corner the entire time. "Gerald, I need you to fetch some things without my mother's knowledge..." ----------------------------------- Several months later... Veronica gazed in deep thought at the portrait of Joachim Mavanix. Age had set in on the old woman, but she remained more lively than any other woman her age. Her red hair remained fiery and snake-like. She wore an elegant and tight, but not too revealing, yellow dress. A hyur servant entered the large chamber, draped in black leather that revealed his sinewy yet well-shaped body. "You wished to see me, M'lady?" "Yes, Eldrav. Come in. I have a task for you. I have seen what Joachim once saw, and so much more. I know the enemy who intends to bring our family to ruin. And that is why we must strike first." "What will you have of me?" Veronica gazed at the portrait for another long moment before answering. "Several moons from now, a child will be born. You will ensure its demise." Eldrav raised an eyebrow. "Anything for you, Madame. But...would it not be easier if I just killed the mother now?" "Nay," Veronica stated matter-of-factly. "She is a prominent noble so we must thus cover our tracks and make this as low profile as possible. Nobody would expect us to assassinate an infant, after all." "Who is my target then, Madame?" "The Felstar child. It must die once it enters this world. I'm counting on you. Do not fail me." "When have I ever let you down, Madame? Consider the job done. The Felstar child will perish in a tragic accident and none will be the wiser." Veronica smiled wickedly to the portrait of Joachim. "You see grandfather. I'll handle everything. And even should I somehow fail, I have prepared a contingency plan..." The matriarch's gaze shifted to another nearby portrait of Darian Mavanix. The man's lips in the portrait began to slowly curl up into a confident smile.
  10. As I work to completely finish up the House Mavanix wiki entry, I find myself still lacking a couple pieces of artwork to go with it. Sadly, the original artists who started the project are no longer active in the game and/or RP community. So I need someone else who may feel generous enough to put together the last bits. To view the styling of the current images, you can check out the wiki entries here: http://www.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/i ... se_Mavanix Anyone is free to post up their versions here. I'll just take whatever I get and/or what fits the best. Here's what I'm looking for: --Julius Mavanix: Short blond hair, somewhat charming looking. The rest of the details are up to the artist. --Cartius Mavanix: Looks like below picture. Click spoiler tag. I may just use this image if no art for him comes to light. [spoil][/spoil] --Elza Ashfen: See below picture. Hair is indigo colored by the way, in case the lighting doesn't reflect that well. [spoil][/spoil] --Others, if desired: While no others are -needed-, anyone feeling motivated to do so can feel free to create portraits of any of the myriad of other Mavanix members if they so wish. I often fear asking for any art of Kylin because nobody ever can get it satisfactory for him for some reason . I'd also like a fancy family tree, but it's not a necessity. I can always use a simple text format for that if needed. Thanks in advance!
  11. The teaser website for 2.0 is finally here! There's nothing new that hasn't been seen at E3, mind you. But the new layout is quite fancy and this where the upcoming flood of information will be coming in August no doubt. http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com
  12. Details put up on the calendar. Can't reveal too much IC info due to it being an emergency last minute mission. But there will be a posting up at each adventurer's guild about 15 minutes prior to the event start time so freelancers or other shells that haven't been able to sneak in have a shot at getting involved. Lots of action awaits! As a teaser, here's the theme song for the upcoming battle (the lyrics and tone fit perfectly ):
  13. Added a brief summary for the latest event. The next (and semi-finale) event is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, the 7th around 7pm EST. This may change though depending on numerous factors. I'll keep you posted. I'm still seeking individuals who have spare character slots willing to help with the event. Should I not be able to find abled bodies, I'll just have to play all involved characters somehow . Some things to note about the next event: There will be a lot of RP fighting. The enemies to be battled will be "larger than life" type of foes and thus will be considered quite powerful. We will NOT be using the /random system some may utilize when they do combat. I trust all participants to act rationally and within reasonable boundaries. Should there be any 'disputes' about a battle, I will make the final judgment call. Please note though that I will never inflict traumatizing damage to a character unless the player grants permission beforehand in /tells or whatever. That's simply not my style and that is, in my opinion, god mode. Should you wish for your characters to suffer terrible injuries for whatever reason, lemme know though and I'll be more than happy to accommodate you since this is a perfect opportunity for this kind of thing . I will, however, always allow your character to respond to assaults as you, the player, wish them to. The semi-finale will possibly last as long as 3+ hours. Please be prepared, though I promise it will be non-stop action from the start and will never have a dull moment  . There will be at least one opportunity to 'rest up' if needed (bathroom break, etc). Another note to keep in mind: The Soulfire Apparatus artifact will be present in this event. For those not familiar with its lore, keep the following in mind: it has a powerful enchantment upon it that prevents any non-Mavanix and/or individual not 'blessed' by a house patriarch/matriarch from touching it. Should someone try to pick it up, it will simply be too heavy to do so (it would be like trying to lift a house). I'll keep you posted about the schedule. Please let me know if you're able/willing to help. Looking forward to this all finally wrapping up! For those who have followed both in game events and posted stories, you may be thinking that everything seems disconnected and confusing. But I promise the finale will tie EVERYTHING together and bring the entire puzzle into perspective. In addition, I have a new "epic" of sorts prepared for the involved parties, though it will be completely different in nature. There will not be "planned events" like this storyline and it will largely be spur of the moment things. It will not focus at all on any of my characters and instead will put the focal point on individual linkshells. Those who saw the future visions at the last event can get a glimpse of what may be happening and you can probably figure out where this is all going at this point . It's primarily meant to be a 7th Umbral related storyline for us all to enjoy leading up to 2.0 and unite different RP groups ICly, though the ball will largely be in everyone else's court in terms of involvement and the choices made. But I've said enough now...let's get through these last two events first!
  14. ((Warning: Some blood and gore present. Two more posts to accompany this one by the end of the House Mavanix storyline scheduled to end around mid-July.)) Present day... "I doubt there's anything even worthwhile still here," the gruff highlander stated with a slight grunt as he entered the abandoned Mavanix Mansion ruins. Two other men followed him inside, a roegadyn seawolf, and a lalafell plainsfolk. The mansion had no doubt seen better days since it was attacked moons ago, resulting in the death of the then patriarch Cartius. Since the attack, the family only used the mansion as a meeting place and nothing else. It had become a haven for thieves, most of the artwork and furniture having been stolen and likely sold on the black market. "I'm sure we can find something useful," the lalafell thief said cheerfully as the group examined the damaged lobby. "Oh! How about those paintings?" The three glanced up at the several paintings mounted on the lobby walls. It was somewhat bizarre that they hadn't been stolen yet. Each one was titled. The first was titled "The Igniter." The second was labeled "The Exalter." The third was named "The Inquisitor." The fourth, being the only female painting, was "The Sybil." The fifth was titled "The Guardian." Clearly, the paintings were those of the past house patriarchs and matriarch. The roegadyn shuddered slightly. "They give m' the creeps. Maybe that's why nobody has bothered tryin' to steal 'em yet." "Help lift me up so I can reach them," the highlander ordered the roegadyn. The accomplice moved over to his ally and helped lift him up. "A little higher..." The lalafell watched quietly, crossing his arms as the two reached for the first painting. Something quickly caught his eye though and the small thief's jaw dropped. Descending the stairs slowly was a faint blue apparition. Glancing up to one of the portraits labeled "The Inquisitor," the lalafell instantly realized that it was the same man depicted in that painting. His shaggy beard, haggard old face, and expensive warrior-like gear matched the painting perfectly. The small thief began to shake as the terror began to sink in. "G-g-guys! It's a g-g-gh..." "Stop your bickering," the highlander yelled to the lalafell before losing his footing and falling, taking the roegadyn to the floor with him. "Oof! Damn it!" The ghostly figure continued to gradually approach the thieves, the lalafell shaking quite visibly now. The other two thieves glanced up, finally taking notice to the approaching figure and quickly rising to their feet. The highlander grunted faintly. "Hmph. What kind of trickery is this? Some kind of illusion to keep people out of the house? Well, I ain't dumb enough to fall for it!" The buff highlander remained motionless at the approaching apparition, the roegadyn taking several steps back himself. The lalafell was already starting to very slowly creep in the direction of the mansion door. The highlander grinned confidently as the "ghost" came face-to-face with him. "What are you two oafs scared of? It ain't even real. It's just some--" The man's words were instantly cut off as the vengeful spirit skewered a sword through the highlander's torso. His two cohorts gasped in shock, the spirit twisting the sword maliciously as a devilish smile crossed the ghostly old man's lips. The highlander simply gurgled up some blood before collapsing to the floor as the phantom removed the bloodied ghost blade from him. The lalafell quickly burst for the door, the roegadyn hurrying after him. The mansion doors instantly slammed shut just as the lalafell made it outside. The roegadyn wasn't fortunate enough to make it in time, locked inside the mansion. He pounded on the doors, pushing and pulling the handle to no end. He quickly turned around to notice the wickedly smiling ghost coming toward him. Without a second thought, the thief dashed away and up the stairs to the second floor, not even noticing the figures in the paintings slowly turning their heads to follow the man's motions. He ended up in a large empty chamber, several dried up blood stains on the walls around him. Quickly, the roegadyn dashed into the west room, looking back to ensure the creature wasn't gaining on him. The new chamber, an assembly room of some sort, had a balcony on the far west side. The thief sighed in relief as he approached it. The door leading outside seemed jammed though. After a moment of panicked attempts to pry it open, the man noticed a window just to the left of the door. It was open. He wasted no time in starting to climb out of it. Then his world came to an abrupt stop. A sheering pain shot through him as he realized what had just happened. The glass window had come down on him with incredible force, chopping the man in two complete halves. His upper body fell onto the patio as his lower body remained inside the assembly room. His sight began to rapidly blur as death took hold, the last thing he saw being his own blood poured out around him and the tall, slender, red-haired woman wearing an elegant black dress, a devilish yet seductive smile on the ghostly matriarch's face.
  15. The following letter arrives at the headquarters of Corvus Cinis, Everwatch, and Shimmersong: Good day to you. As we have discussed in our previous encounter, I have prepared an offensive against the house enemies. My cousin, Ekidnah Mavanix, has agreed to assist in this endeavor by utilizing her knowledge and magic in whatever way deemed fit. She has agreed to meet with you on the 30th sun of this moon outside the Mavanix Mansion ruins at the 20th bell with a plan to finally reveal the Ishgardian cardinal's true identity. I will not be in attendance, as to not draw attention by the enemy who is no doubt watching my every move. In addition, I do not wish to have more than one Mavanix in the same spot to further avoid drawing the attention of the cardinal or Vertigo. Ekidnah looks forward to your attendance, though I ask that you be prepared for anything and to not once let your guard down. Warm wishes, Elza Ashfen Mavanix ((OOC info: [spoil]When: Sat, June 30th at 8pm EST Where: Thm Guild (used as mansion ruins as usual) What: Meeting with Ekidnah. Primarily story driven content regarding historical information, a terrible glimpse into the near future for all involved parties, and a small tidbit of action at the very end~[/spoil] ))
  16. With only 3 in game events remaining, I've hammered out the schedule for the final chapter of this story! This is still tentative and subject to change (particularly event #2 if I'm unable to find willing bodies to help with it). Please note that part 1 of "Ignition" has recently gone up. The remaining story posts will begin to tie everything together for the ultimate finale that will hopefully go down in history for the RP community  The story tag refers to a story post with the "Avalon Profiles" that are largely posted on Archavalon's old forums and Crystalline's forums. Event tag is obviously for the in game events. Schedule of events (tentative): [[story]]Ignition, part 2: June 24th (Archavalon and Crystalline forum post only) [[story]]Long Live House Mavanix, Part 1: June 28th [[Event]]Event #1 (Long Live House Mavanix): June 30th [[story]]When Fire Reigns, Part 1: July 2nd (Archavalon and Crystalline forum post only) [[story]]When Fire Reigns, Part 2: July 5th (Archavalon and Crystalline forum post only) [[story]]Long Live House Mavanix, Part 2: July 6th or 7th (Archavalon, Crystalline, and RPC posts) [[Event]]Event #2 (Dearly Departed): July 7th [[story]]Ambitious Beginnings, final post: July 12th or 13th (Archavalon and Crystalline forum post only) [[Event]]Event #3 (The True Face of Evil): July 14th [[story]]Long Live House Mavanix, Part 3: July 15th or 16th (Posted on RPC, Archavalon, and Crystalline forums.)) I'm in need of 3 individuals each with a spare character slot for Event #2. You must be able to attend the event (it could be a bust without you ) and be at least semi-comfortable with RP fighting (without using dice rolls). If interested, please contact me in game, via PM, or via this thread ASAP and I'll divulge further details about said character. This particular event will be a big one, lasting possibly upwards of 3 hours long (with a small break about midway through) and contain more action than all other events combined >.>. Thanks and looking forward to the culmination of everything!
  17. While I've moved on from FFXI back in 2010 and have no intention of going back, it's always nice to see it continue to expand and prosper. Just recently, SE announced the 5th expansion for the game: Seekers of Adoulin. It's based on, from what I can tell, the western continent. The new areas revealed look quite amazing (especially the big main city) and the new area draws upon Native American influence. It's also apparently a place where dragons and dragoons are common, a library exists that rivals that of Windurst, and more. The first of two new jobs, Geomancer, has been announced also. Teaser site here: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/adoulin/index.html
  18. Bump to remind everyone that this is tomorrow. Also, updated some of the story posts (Patriarch of the Damned and Ambitious Beginnings..Duskwalker is also completed for those interested in Vertigo's roots). Also to the also, I'm considering removing Event #2 from the chapter 4 series of events. After careful analysis, I've determined that it's mostly just unnecessary filler. The event consisted of several fun mini-games, but again, it's just filler material. So I'll probably skip over it. Which means after tomorrow, only 3 more events left in the storyline! And for those who choose to be involved, things are gonna get ugly at the finale
  19. Personally, I plan to transfer to whatever official RP server SE gives us no matter what. I agree that it would be rather sucky if they disallow transfers or anything, but I'd just keep Ky on the back burner until they reopen transfers and just play other characters until then (Legacy members do get 8 characters /per/ server after all). In the long run, an official Rp server has a lot more power behind it than an unofficial one like Balmung. Eventually, an unofficial RP server is going to become stifled in role-player growth and any RP shells that happen to stay behind will no doubt start to feel that incredible pinch within 6-12 months. Newcomers are going to no doubt go with the official one. Old timers who return are also likely to throw their support to the official server due to the ability of a "fresh start." I've mentioned this problem of potential division within the community over this a couple times so I'm glad it's formally be discussed now. In my personal opinion, I think the community should come together and just go with the cards that SE deals it rather than go against the flow and potentially divide/harm the community. Again, one can make multiple characters per server, so it's not like anyone has to fret over completely leaving non-RP friends behind.
  20. (( Please note: This is an OOC ad, not IC. Due to the nature of the event, it cannot be advertised IC. It will be an "emergency" mission that happens spur of the moment. However, I figured I could at least advertise it OOCly so those who are interested can ensure they are free at the designated date/time. Shimmersong and Corvus Cinis can be contacted by Elza easily via the private linkpearls each have given her. Everwatch /may/ be able to be contacted through Crystalline should any dual members be present at the time. Anyone without ties to these groups will need to either contact me in advance to work in your attendance or come up with a clever reason for being at the right place at the right time. When: Sunday, June 17th at 8pm EST Where: Will be contacted via linkpearls and/or emergency carrier birds. OOCly, the initial meeting place will ultimately be Thal's Respite near Drybone. ICly, it will be used as the Avalon Heritage Museum owned by House Mavanix. The event will then move elsewhere as the action unfolds. What: Emergency mission by Elza. Danger is abound! The Soulfire Apparatus is stolen! ))

    Guten Tag!

Looks good to me! The only thing I'd caution you about is usage of the Syndicate in anything...but you're covered there because a) it's just a rumor that may/may not be true. And b) you mentioned it could be a son of the Syndicate. So you should be good. Ky will likely enjoy meeting Gerik

    Guten Tag!

Welcome! Virgin Amateur role-players are always welcome  If you RP with Ariel and crew, I'm sure you and I shall cross paths sooner or later for sure ^^. Looking forward to our characters meeting (and getting to know you too of course!). If you have any questions about anything, don't be afraid to ask at anytime. Not sure if you're a member of Intermission (social shell for RPers) yet, but if not, be sure to look into it.
  24. ((Those not in any of the 'invited groups' can still attend so long as they contact me. We can come up with IC arrangements for your character's presence ^^)) ((OOC: [spoil]When: Saturday, June 9th at 8pm EST. Where: Thm guild (again, instanced area representing old Mavanix Mansion). What: Will require minor travel, no /planned/ (planned being key word) combat, and will focus primarily on story elements. Estimated completion time is about 1 hour, 15 minutes.[/spoil]))
