Dartamian N'astal

Okay so Dartamian has just started the clan hunts and it would be nice and probably also needed to have a small band of hunters who can hold there own in a fight and might even know the lay of the land. I guess you could say this would be more PvE a PvE RP scenario, but in my opinion that makes for the best RP. If there are any out there that RP healers or just wanna tag along, feel free to either respond here, leave a message or hit up Dartamian N'astal in game.

I think you should be good. I myself have been on Balmung since launch and they are pretty flexible with the RP. I was actually thinking about doing the same thing because I have Ben gone a year and am coming back. I was also gonna change the face of my character so essentially it would be like starting over. The memory loss is to attribute for the fact that I will have to make all new friends and what not RP wise. But anywho, it's all about having fun with YOUR story. Play whatever makes you happy... That's my advice.

Okay I know this is gonna sound like a stupid question but what is Groupin Game RP?!

Okay, so needless to say, I have been gone from FFXIV for way too long and am SO ready to get back into the RP scene. Some of you might have remembered me from back then, some maybe not so. I'm trying to fine anyone that could use a reliable tank for RP. I mean I like the whole para RP and enjoy the occasional chill spot or relaxation moment. However, I am looking for more of the action based RP. We don't have to follow the story of the game exactly, but I would like to at least incorporate some of the aspects to the game into our RP. Does that make sense? I'm also looking to make some OOC connections as well. I am an avid gamer and when I can I play FFXIV for long periods of time and could RP an entire day away. ((I know, I have no life.)) Anywho, I would like to find some like-minded individuals like myself who also would like to spend time in he game and not do it alone. I know I should probably say more... and I will be posting more along the way, but for now I really just wanted to say Ello and let everyone know that I will be officially back... real soon.

Well, Dartamian has been searching for a sidekick for quite some time. I have been RPing his story from namedate. He typically plays the role of a tank or the brawler in a combat situation and a healer/magic user would be a nice addition to the team he is trying to develop. Just to give a brief history on him, he use to be a villian pirate but has now put that life behind him to become a full time adventurer. While he has become quite the professional in that area, he is realizing he will not be able to safeguard Eorzea on his own. Would this be something you would be interested in?

Okay so I have put a few post about this on the page and have actually been getting some good responses. I am currently trying to gather as many bags of Allergan pieces as I can for an RP 5*5 block of treasure for my FC. As stated before I am willing to buy the sacks at double what you would sell them to a vendor for. If anyone has any or knows a good way to acquire some, then please let me know. Dartamian has for quite some time been looking to form a crew for everything Eorzea and the life of an adventurer can offer. Light ov Eorzea Salvage and Adventure Extraordinaire is a small Free Company Dartamian begun to run all adventuring operations. Dartamian is mostly a sell sword using weapons and his skills to overcome the task that come with the job, however he has studied a bit in the ways of magicks and such. The Free Company has a house and crafting is a major source of income for the establishment. Not only do we insist that you learn the craftsmanship trade, we have resources to assist in the learning of such a path. Being mostly a brawler, Dart could really use a healer sidekick and does not mind taking a fledgling healer and helping them become the greatness needed for the troubles that come against Eorzea. ((Dartamian N'astal is my actual name in game, and I only play one character. Feel free to either send a tell, note, or even just stop by the shop. As said before any assistance would be appreciated with this. I know there are FCs out there with people still doing the quest that reward these sacks and also there are many RPers who play Alts. I just figured this would be the best place to start looking for the items in question.

No I bought all the ones I could find on the market boards. So now I am only in need of gold and platinum pieces. I am trying to form a 5 by 5 block of all the different kinds of pieces. That means five stacks of each kind.

Okay, so I need the help of the RPC for something I am trying to establish with my FC. If anyone has ever run into Dartamian, you would know by now that he use to be a villian pirate and has now put that life behind him and become a full time adventurer in service to Eorzea and the people who dwell within. But about my dilemma, I am trying to amass a treasure for future RP events. This treasure will be made up of sacks of allergan pieces ((the small yellow sacks you get when you complete a quest.)) I have all the tin, bronze and even the silver sacks that I need however the golden and platinum sacks are much harder to come by. Surely there is someone who can assist me with this problem. And I am willing to pay double what the sacks are worth. ((thus 20,000 gil for platinum sacks)). Please if there is anyone that can help me with this let me know. As well as financial compensation for the sacks I can also offer my services to any who help me to accomplish this goal. ((I RP as a tank so I can help with leveling or faster cue times.)) First I would like to say I am truly sorry for the other night. This week has just been crazy. I started a new job and walked the stage this week in RL. But I am very interested in this idea. I have a story with my current character and it just so happens that he is currently seeking a partner or assistant if you would. So a little about Dartamian... There are villians, and then there are nightmares. Captain Dartamian N'astal was one such monster. Spreading chaos and fear across the seas he and his crew sailed under acused colors. But such a life takes its toll on anyman, and so soon he had grown weary of the life he had made for himself. Life was not without a sense of irony. Unfortunate for Dartamian, not all those in his crew were so ready to put the life of Piracy behind them. There was a mutiny. Blood was shed and even deaths occured. When it was all said and done, the ship was destroyed, the crew was no more. As Dartamian drifted out at sea clinging on to floating debri, as well as to life itself, for the first time in his life he wept. Was this to be how he would end? The thought alone was a hell of its own. "I deserve... this...". And with that he blacked out. When Dartamian awoke he was onboard a merchant vessel in route to a place called Eorzea. What life he had known was lost, and this new adventure felt like a chance to attone for his crimes. Maybe here he could find a foe worthy enough to give him the honorable death he so graciously deserves.

I am not sure exactly what you guys are looking for but from what I have read already, It would seem like the both of you are exactly what Dartamian is looking for. A little back ground on him... Dartamian was actually once part of a band of evil pirates. They said the seas spreading chaos where ever they went. But soon Dartamian found himself wanting for a better purpose in his life. Had it not been for a merchant ship bound for Lominsian shores, Dartamian may have met his demise in davey johns locker... But low and behold, Dartamian awoke on the ship... ((This leads me into the into scene for the marauder and I have just been RPing on the fly ever since...)) I am now at the point of endgame point, and I am realizing I am going to need a crew if I wish to keep Eorzea safe from those would would bring her harm. I have aleady established an FC ((Light ov Eorzea, of LovE)) and I have already purchased a house in Uldah to serve as a base. I even have a teamspeak channel as well. If you and your friend would like to join that would be great, even if not, if ya'll just find yourselves in need of a tank of wanting for friendly company. Well I have rambles on enough. Hmm, it just so happens that my character, Dartamian N'astal is in the market for a reliable healer. I don't want to use the term "sidekick" because I have gotten bad results from that word. But allow me to give you a bit about Dartamian. Dartamian actually use to be a pirate and one of the worse kind to boot. He sailed under colored flags with a buccaneer crew of villainy. However, Dartamian soon longed for a higher purpose in his life and so a mutiny was aroused amongst the crew. This did not end well for Dartamian. He found himself adrift out at sea. Lucky for him, a merchant ship bound for Lominsian shores found him and rescued him... This led me to the into scene for the maurader and I have pretty much gone with the flow from there. I try to RP the main story of the game but of course I make variations so that I do not metagame or mess up anyone else's RP. But NEwho, I am looking for a healer to just explore all Eorzea has to offer. I am playing as a Warrior and will most likely try to play the role of the dumb, meat-head tank persona. Maybe we could help each other out?!

Oh I know that all too well. I have RPed only as a healer until FFXIV. But when I did RP as a healer, I would always have a saying... "I make a much better sidekick than a hero." That being said, I know what it is like to want to RP a healer in a world that demands you fight against the forces of evil. Perhaps "sidekick" was a bad term to use. Maybe "partner" would have been a better word. Either way, I am sorry if I have offended you and offer this in return... "While there are those who battle evil with blade and brawn, it is the healer who wields the very essence of the hero to vanquish evil in the darkest of times."

Okay, so my character has officially taken the role of a tank. I mostly play warrior but am considering taking on all the tanking personas. However, endgame content is becoming harder to tackle with random group-ups. What I need is a healer sidekick. I am flexible with the RP story. Mine is pretty basic so I can make changes to accommodate to the RP of the healer. How would I best go about finding this my fellow RPers? This is basically what I am asking the RPC. What would be the best way to find a healer sidekick while keeping within the rules of how RP works?

Dartamian N'astal was never really much of the hero type. As life would have it he was quite the opposite. Sailing the seas under accursed flags Dartamian N'astal made his living by way of piracy. For a time it sustained him, but he soon grew weary of such a lifestyle. He knew he needed a change. However not all of his former shipmates did saw things from Dartamian's perspective. And so there was a mutiny. A raging war ensued, destroying the ship and leaving Dartamian and many of the crew adrift out to sea. They say your life flashes before your eyes before you die... This was no different for Dartamian. And what he saw... his legacy... he figured himself better off dead. But fate, as it would seem, is not without a sense of irony. As Dartamian awoke aboard a vessel bound for shores of Eorzea, he couldn't help but wonder what mystical hand had seen him to safety. Heck he wasn't even sure where he was. Had it not been for the traveling merchant, he might have never known. As the ship pulled into port, Dartamian embarked into this new land. Eorzea, ah it was a land ripe with adventure. Dartamian started out taking small jobs and eventually began a salvage company of his own. Being in the right place at the right time eventually found him favor with the local authorities. As he continues to learn more about this strange place... He draws ever nearer to his true calling. So basically, the back story leads me to the Limsa Lominsa opening cut scene for the game. I started the game as a Maurarder because their origins revolves around pirates. I have played WoW for some years and am now on FFXIV. I am a novice to the whole RP scene but am learning a few things as I go. My ideal RP is just going with the flow. I play as if I were actually there. Of course I make certain variations to the main story as to not meta-game over anyone else's RP. I know I am late on the introduction since Dartamian is already 50 but as I am drawing near to the end of the main story, I realize I will need friends and allies. Okay, so I couldn't sleep last night over the news of the new patch going active today. So I got out of bed and decided to watch "The Avengers", when it dawned on me... "I am going to need a crew of me own if I am going to be able to take down the content to come." My character is just about to complete the main story plot. So far I have just random cued for many of the dungeons and being a tank was able to keep in character thru those adventures. I want to form a 4 to 8 man/woman team. We can work on the details of how we all came together along the way. But I basically want to make a force of defenders of Eorzea. I already have a Free Company (the Light ov Eorzea) or LovE for short. And I have purchased a teamspeak channel as well. Does anyone have any advice on how I would be able to accomplish this task?

I personally love the idea. I wish I would have run into you before I restarted my current character. I have a basic background story and have just played out the story of the game. I am hoping to form an 8 man group by the time I get to a lot of the endgame content. But I RP that every time I play. I am at the point where... (spoilers)... The sicon of the seventh dawn have asked Dartamian to join them. While he has done his fair share of adventuring, (side quest and job quest), he is not sure if he is ready to take on Primals. ((basically I am getting 50 and trying to form a small group for the main story quest and dungeons)). So even if there is anything I can do to help, let me know. Dartamian N'astal is my main and only character. And the Light ov Eorzea or LovE is my crew.

Wow. Natalie Mcbeef, that was a spot on explanation for the feeling I am trying to recreate and I know exactly what you mean because I have felt like that with this particular game. We know the math of the MMO format and so we can't help but follow in suite. However I like what Zhavi had to say. I think I am going to start a thread there telling people what I am looking for. There may not be many but there but I am sure I could fine 3 or 7 others willing to do this. Heck I might even take my level 50 i95 toon and make am FC dedicated to those who wish to play like that. That's really what I meant when I said "Unsure what to do..." I normally only play one character when I play MMOs. I dislike alts because its hard enough to play the way I play with just one toon and keep up. So I am trying to decide if I should stick with Shadow Claw (the level 50) who while he may be lost, is at endgame content and could be ready to start a story anew when the expansion comes out or if I should start Dartamian N'astal who would be my totally immersive character...

First off I would like to say thank you to all those who have given their opinion on the matter. I actually know very little about the warriors of light and with the story plot that I was able to do, I was only under the assumption that my character was walking in the foot steps of the fallen Warriors of Light. I just want to play a simple adventurer. My main problem I usually ran into was that I was playing the role of healer and so I would always have to track down a brawler or other heroes to do most of the dungeons. I just really want to have fun with the whole experience. And for the most part I usually do. The thing is my main is 50 i95, and I find myself walking around aimlessly looking for adventure. The only reason I was even considering starting the story over again is because I do remember seeing small aspects of the story and thinking "wow, that seems cool". Not to mention it is a Final Fantasy installment and so you know those guys are the best when it comes to story. I actually don't want to play the hero. One of my favorite IC quotes are "I make a much better sidekick than a hero." My ideal experience would actually be to be the healer who shadows the main hero or group of heroes. I just want to be able to enjoy the ride along the way. And with others... I seem to be stuck in the middle. There are those who RP a little too extensive for my level of experience, ((way too much tavern RP)), or you run into the friendly but non-immersive Lalaboom Wizard ((just made up the name to illustrate the non-rpers)) which while they are willing to help you progress... they constantly remind you "this is essentially just a grind fest". And this much even I know. I know its just a game... trust me I know this. But I just want to travel thru it with friends and explore the lore and the story.

Okay fellow role players I am in a bit of a bind... I have always been a fan of role playing games. Almost any video game I play I try my hardest to actually immerse myself into the story of the character I am playing. However that has become quite an issue with MMORPGs. First off, I am still a bit of a novice when it comes to the actual style of RP in MMOs. Not even sure if I know all the rules to be quite honest. Even though I have always tried to play as the actual character ((ex. RP walking even in single player games)), I wasn't formally introduced to role playing until I ran into a few people like me in World of Warcraft. Now I have had wonderful experiences since I have found out about the phenomena known as RP but here lies my dilemma... I first bought FFXIV when the game launched. And for the most part I started out pretty good. Stayed to the story as much as I could. But low and behold, my cousins and family got into the game which prompted me to hurry and rush to unlock all the content. They are more of raiders than RPers. This ultimately resulted in me rushing thru most of the story and getting to a point where the game is just an endless grind to the next gear tier. I don't mind keeping my level 50 white mage with item level 95 gear to help other RPers, but I feel I want to start another character a new and ONLY follow the story as it unfolds. But of course I cannot hope to save all of Eorzea alone. Does anyone have any pointers on how to find or assemble a 4-8 man group ((maybe even a static RPFC)) where I can go thru the game, unlock all the material, and have fun doing it all in character. Or am I asking too much?

Dartamian N'astal really is just the sum of how I have been RPing in the MMOs that I have played before. With normal MMOs, you cannot be more than one class. I would designate the name Dartamian to all my combat classes, and would name my healer Astal. So with this I combined the two names together. His story is pretty simple as well. I basically mad him a retired Adventurer (because I was burnt out on WoW). His only goal in life after losing everything in the Calamity, is to build a mansion and remain at peace for the rest of his days. So I decided I was going to make a class solely dedicated to making money. I started as a Pagulist because anyone can fight with their fist. But when I went to the miner's guild they told me I was not fit enough to work there. This is what lead me to venture out. And from there, I have just gone with the flow.

Will do. I work mon - fri from 8:00am to 4:30pm. I have class thurs night and fri night and sat morning. If I don't have too much home work I'm on anytime I can get on. I guess I should give. Little info about my style of RP. I usually try to just play out the life of my character and stick with the story of the game as best I can. Not too big on Lore so if anyone is, some help would be nice. I RP walk just about everywhere so if you lack patience I may be too slow paced for you. I mostly only run when I would in an actuall situation ex. (Someone in trouble or a quest where loss of life is involved). But other than that I walk. You can enjoy the beauty of he game so much more at that pace.
