Yep! Slight thread hijack because it's kind of nutty how often I'm seeing this question pop up recently in conversation - perhaps spurred by the Yugiri race speculation before 2.2 launched. It was stated in XII that male Viera do exist; we just don't see them because male and female Viera do not live together and they weren't written into the game. Perhaps because they didn't want to design male bunny people? Whatever the reason, we just don't get to see them. It's crazy surprising how many people missed this entirely or harbor an idea that Viera sprout from trees in female form only or that they form from the mist and don't need males. One person was so insistent on the latter theory that they spurred me to go back and double check to ensure that I didn't just make it up as apparently the Viera wikia article on the finalfantasy.wikia was not enough evidence to convince them. Anyroad.... Yes there are male Viera. Ah, so they're like males in Touhou. Makes sense.
