Rinette

That makes me feel a bit better about it. If anyone made a fuss over it I was going to say she chose this name after losing her clan and get a lore friendly name to be her given name. Funnily enough I've seen people running around with the name "Reinette", I think they were all hyur now that I think about it.

Rinette's clan is just backstory as well but I thought if I left it open it could be an interesting plot if someone wanted to fill in the spot. It's really not a major story that I was planning on doing with her. It's a shame we couldn't combine our families but it happens and we can still roleplay together. :3 I feel like I royally messed up with Rinette's name as well, I was randomizing a lot of names in the character creator and didn't like any of the first names so I threw in Rinette from an old WOW character. I immediately regretted it when I started to work on her backstory and was looking through what little lore I could find about miqo'te and someone linked to the naming conventions.

That is good to know. I will probably end up joining your clan in the future when I stop adjusting her timeline/backstory/personality. She's still a work in progress for me and I want to have a history and personality I'm comfortable with before she gets into something where her attitude changing would be weird.

There is a little bit of room in Rinette's past for people to jump in and I'm actively looking to fill in some of the parts. I haven't given any names, appearances, or backgrounds to the characters so everything is completely open. The other family of her clan The mate she was matched with The academic who taught her to read/write (early to mid-thirties) I also have an idea for general connection making since you can never have too many. Rinette is willing to act as a guide for anyone through the Shroud. Any character what so ever! An Ul'dah merchant who was ditched by a sellsword at the border of Thanalan and South Shroud who needs to get to Gridania to pick up an important shipment. A shady character slipping out of Coerthas and into the North Shroud to avoid capture. A Limsa native researching the Shroud's flora and wants to see it in person. There's a ton of possibilities with this which is why I love this scenario. I'm going to second that comment. I can't possibly think of any other way to describe it. Also, a journal of just drawings would be cool, I haven't seen one done like that yet.

I. Basic Info Characters: Rinette Molkoh Primary character: Rinette Linkshells: None. Primary RP linkshell: II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light to medium. I'm interested into getting into heavy though. When I'm in game I'm spending a lot of my time capping mythology but when I'm not in a dungeon I'm willing to roleplay if asked. I don't care for sitting in taverns looking for random RP though, I would rather set up a place to meet and go from there. Views on RP combat and injuries: If it's part of a plot and has been discussed OOC I'm completely fine with my character being injured. Nothing fatal though. When it comes to minor injuries (bloody nose, fat lip, ect.) it doesn't necessarily need to be asked about in OOC but no god moding, obviously. Views on IC romance: IC romance is a weird subject for me, I'm not willing to roleplay every aspect of a relationship and will opt to “fade to black” when it comes to sex. That is non-negotiable. I don’t judge people who do choose to ERP it is something that I don’t do. Besides all of that I am comfortable with romance as long as it has a purpose and furthers the roleplay. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Business relationships or simple friendships are important to my kind of roleplay. Now the friendships can progress naturally through roleplay or be discussed OOC to create an instant friendship (oddly enough I’ve had better experiences with the latter). Since my character is a traditional miqo’te family ties are important to her but because of her background they are not around anymore. Views on lore: I am far from an expert on lore, especially since I have spent most of my time researching what directly relates to my main character. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t important to me. I would love to learn all the lore I can get my hands on at some point. If someone goes out of their way to not follow lore (whether it be official or widely accepted lore players have pieced together) I will avoid them. But I’m not going to be a jerk to someone taking liberties with the holes that SE has left in lore as long as it’s not too outrageous. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I prefer to keep roleplay in /say and /em as opposed to /party. If something private is being discussed you should take it to a private place. There’s something off about sitting in a heavily populated tavern roleplaying something serious/private and pretending that no one is there. But if it’s a scene that’s serious in a public area and there’s just no room for a random to jump in I’m fine with /party. I’d rather do that then have to tell someone off and feel like a jerk. IC linkshells can be a lot of fun too but it’s my personal preference that if you’re going to do that your character should reflect doing it (emote using the linkpearl). III. I'm not sure that it really matters but I have noticed that some of the RP FCs have "RP" somewhere in the tag. Example: Or maybe I'm just assuming that they are a RP FC because of their tag.

I always RP'd bloodelves in WOW when I did RP on there. I'm like you I care a lot about how my character looks in games. :3 I normally don't play animal-like races in MMOs but the miqo'te were too cute for me to pass up.

I've been messing around with GIFs of Rinette and that and the one on her wiki page came out perfect, I thought it would be a waste not to use them. @Gharen: Thanks! I really appreciate the offer. @Olofantur: I thought I saw you mention Gaia a couple times! There may be a lot of them around but I rarely see anyone admit they used to RP there. I stopped checking it a long time ago, any RPs in Barton Town are all "Trapped in a vampire mansion! Guys are vamipres, girls are cute!" or "Mysterious forest! Just try to escape!" I couldn't bear the disappointment. I'm glad I never got too invested into the housing since it wasn't working at all for the longest time, I'm glad they tied it in with the ZOMG so that the people who did get into it didn't waste their gold. As for WoW I hung around horde side on Moon Guard when I RP'd but my main character hopped around several servers over the years she was mostly on Boulderfist though. That's good to know about the wiki, I was kinda worried that it would be pointless to make one except for personal use. I will look into Balmungs Finest, I'm always on the look out for groups for anything. Although I think my FC is wanting to pull me into Turn 1/2/3 so I wouldn't be able to do that. Hello! I've actually been in game for a couple months (and lurking around here) so I thought it was time to finally introduce myself to the RP community and hopefully make some connections for my character. --MMORPG background I started in WoW (thanks to my husband) and played it for longer then I care to admit, I dabbled in DDO, SWTOR, Tera, and a few other free to plays that I don't really remember. Nothing was able to hold my attention like FFXIV has. --RP experience My RP experience is pretty boring, I started in 2004 on Gaia Online and stayed there for quite some time. Every so often I would be introduced to other forum websites but always ended up back on Gaia. Even though I played WoW for many years I didn't start to RP on there until a month before I quit. I did RP my entire stay on Tera (about 4 months) and enjoyed it a lot which lead me to find out which world was for RPing on FFXIV. --Character ideas/info I haven't had very many chances to RP Rinette but I have created a wiki page about her that's still a work in progress. Her attitude hasn't been worked out but I know that she'll be quiet, shy, and a bit reclusive. I might end up changing that though since it would make walk-ups with her boring and awkward. I get the feeling that without creating an IC history with another player she wont get much interaction. And now I'm just rambling.. --How did you learn about the coalition? I googled "FFXIV unofficial RP server" and there it was! --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Medium for sure. My character is already max level and geared so aside from capping my mythology each week I would like to spend my time RPing. Aside from that sticking to lore is important to me, I have yet to learn everything possible but I'm trying to read up on what lore pertains to my character. On that note anyone who is an expert on Miqo'te lore I would love to talk to you to make sure I'm not breaking lore with my character history. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) I'm a stay at home mom so I AFK a lot to get dangerous objects away from my two year old. I live on the west coast and end up playing whenever I get the chance. To be more specific 2-4PM and 9-midnight are my best times. I'm insanely boring because I have no real hobbies besides playing video games.

Oh... I wasn't aware that there was only one item recovery per account. My company-mate was told by the GM that recovered her phial that there were a few (like 2-3). I hope no one used their recovery because of what I said. =|

The issue is I already used the one they said I get on my Miqo'te for a completely arbitrary appearance change. That's what my company-mate did for her lala and she managed to get another one from SE by using an Item Recovery and ended up changing to a miqo'te. You can always try to open a ticket in game (I've never done it so I'm not sure if you have to go through the website or not), the worst that can happen is they say no.

While I don't know if they have made any progress on making it a paid service I do know a person who contacted SE and managed to do a Item Recovery for the phial of fantasia they "wasted" the other month. According to her there's a limited amount of item recoveries you can do per account but it was worth it enough to her to use one. I don't promise it'll work for everyone but it managed to get my company-mate another phial.

Rinette Molkoh - Miqo'te I'm just now getting into the RP scene here and I think this would be a great way to get Rinette interacting with people.
