I'd rather they just keep the universes separate... /sigh

That's what I did. At the start of 1.0 I noticed all the Seeker NPCs in the game had an apostrophe after the first letter of their name, and that they were kind of hard to pronounce/favored h's. So I made up Aysun's "real" name to be A'eyshn, and she uses Aysun around others because they don't say her name right otherwise. Ended up working very nicely with the naming conventions!

Phase 4 is supposed to have the Coliseum available, so we'll have the opportunity to test it then. They wouldn't be able to allow us to test it in Phase 3 because it's not in the current build, they'd have to release an entirely new client just for a single weekend of testing. I believe the PVP Coliseum was delayed til launch/patch.. Shippuu can correct me if I'm wrong.

I will be ignoring them unless I'm in an IC situation and someone has one that makes sense. xDD (Baby Behemoth and such does not make sense IC...)

I just visited Limsa Lominsa and the miqo'te there are frightening! Hanging off the arms of pirates and flirting with sailors!! They have forgotten themselves! /trauma ;; (That's the background my Miqo'te comes from.. -cough-)

Soooo prettyyyy
-
There are plenty of non-tribal Seekers in lore. They often live in Limsa Lominsa. And yea, there is an overall stigma against Keepers, mostly held by Gridanians, however.
-
Just because they don't display racism doesn't mean they are tolerant and they wouldn't be upset if their child went against their tradition or some such.
-
I haven't personally observed any implied or direct racism between the two clans in game. They don't interact much, due to cultural and locational differences (diurnal/nocturnal; Limsa Lominsa & Sagolii Desert/Black Shroud & Gridania), but obviously we as adventurers will see each other a lot more.

I think it's a cool concept, but not something my character could join. x3 But you seem to have a lot of interest!

100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character
Aysun replied to Vash's topic in Character Workshop
Weird, I really thought I posted this last night. Oh well. Though Aysun would probably not actually answer all of these if asked, I answered them ICly~ Whew! x_o -
Thank you. They are NOT Legacy and non-Legacy RP servers. That was NOT the intent. The intent was to label a non-Legacy server for people who did not want to join Balmung due to it being Legacy. Balmung is the unofficial RP server of the RPC. We encourage new people to join Balmung. Gilgamesh is where those who do not want to join a Legacy server due to whatever reason can congregate for RP. Unfortunately the Welcome posts in my opinion (which has been noted and promptly disregarded) have created an unnecessary amount of confusion by not spelling the above out clearly for new RPers. This is what the welcome message says. Sentences like: ARE in the Balmung section of the welcome thread. Perhaps the issue is people's different definition of "Legacy" versus "Non-Legacy." Perhaps the words should be changed. or further explained out so that others' definition matches our intended one. The welcome thread is not clear enough. Period. It has caused a lot of confusion with a lot of players. That wasn't the purpose of the secondary server though. Most of us know that in order to keep the RP community strong, diluting it throughout multiple servers won't help. So promoting both servers equally is totally counterproductive to that. I'm not making Gilgamesh look unattractive, I would never slander it or spread lies about it, but it should only attract the people for which it was labeled the secondary server: those who are unwilling to join Balmung due to it being Legacy.

Tall miqo'te <3 She looks nice! Does she have red eyes or the golden color in the first shot?
-
There's only one community, that is, the RP community, and that is what I support. To keep the RP community strong, I hope to keep us as unified as possible. And to do that I don't want to confuse the new RPers with legacy/non-legacy drama that doesn't make sense to most of them anyway, as most value RP and community higher than server firsts, building an economy, and achievements. Calling Balmung the primary RP server is just stating a fact. That's what it is. Gilgamesh was named secondary server by demand due to a subset of players who did not want to join the larger community on Balmung. I'm sure there will be others like that, but accidentally convincing new players into joining Gilgamesh because they think all new players are going there as it is non-legacy due to lack of this clarification is wrong.

Further clarification.

Yea, those variations of mutts just don't exist in the NPCs that we see, so I am happy to accept it as support for the theory of one race being expressed at a time. Otherwise stuff'd get soooo messyyy.. :dazed: The visual purity of the races are maintained, even though SE says cross-breeding is possible and happens, albeit rarely.

I plan on doing open-world RP as much as possible post-launch, however I've been tied up trying to get my character out of shock from the Calamity crap thus far. The OOC linkshell, Intermission/Backstage/whatever it is going to be called, will be very helpful for you if you are on Balmung in finding RP if you haven't run into any. I think since the owner is moving to Balmung for P4 (P3 has seen most of us split between Gilgamesh and Balmung which has been very confusing!) it might get going finally. If not, the pearl will be made and distributed at launch I am sure.

However! If you want feedback before posting your stuff in a wiki, you can post in the RP Discussion forum! Or grab a mentor and shoot them a PM! And that screenshot was /ages/ before we learned about naming conventions.. xDD DESTINY or something (though I do have a similar screenshot with a Drake -cough-)

Yes, we are aware of that. What we were discussing is what would happen when they do mix because while SE says that it can and does happen, we don't see any blatantly "mixed" races. We were discussing what the physical characteristics of a half-breed would be. The consensus we were coming to is important as many people have decided to play a half-breed, and thus far in game NPCs indicate that there is not a 'mix' of races going on, rather they still appear as Hyur OR Miqo'te not Hyurqo'te, if you get me. While I'd love to just say 'don't do it because we don't know' that is unrealistic. People are going to do what they want to do. It's good to discuss and come to some conclusions based on what we see in game, even if we don't have SE spelling it out for us.

Ffff. She's gorgeous. Your style is amazing.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the races of Eorzea all come from a common ancestory, a la all of the humanoid species in Star Trek canon (humans, vulcans, etc). Lalafel are perhaps a very early divergence and far too genetically removed to even consider cross-breeding with the other races, but the others may be more close. Do like! :bouncy:
-
I'd buy that if not for many of the laws of nature in our world already being ignored in Eorzea already on this subject. Something else to consider would be that while the races look more like separate species to us, they're not called that. Different species that are close enough to cross-breed in real life cause what you described sometimes. However, in Eorzea we're described as races, not species. I couldn't tell you what Eorzea's "species" of sentients is, or if it's just a silly translation thing, but I don't think sterility and deformities are probably a problem. I think the only real issue would be from something like a Lalafell trying to carry a Hyur baby. I'd imagine that would not go well if it did happen. >>;; And I already described why I think we don't see the "miqohyuroegelefels". General consensus seems to be that the babies will take the race of one or the other parent. x3 All opinions here, just discussing.~ There is always a point at which we must step back and say 'lol does it matter that much?' but sometimes it's just fun to discuss.

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing how you play your character, from the description. :3 Antelope, representin'
