I don't really see that myself at all. What I do see is people who are giving opinions, exactly like Eva asked for, but some of them are (understandably) nervous to do so, so they are providing disclaimers. That's exactly what I did when I replied to Everwatch's thread like this. Disclaimer: this is my own experience/opinion, not meant to be bashing, etc. At least, that's what I'm seeing. I hope that no one here feels the need to defend what they're saying. The purpose of this thread for us is to listen to what people are saying, not to make them feel they need to argue points. For those who are concerned or confused about the purpose of this thread.. In the past, when Everwatch sought feedback like this, it did provide information they needed to adjust some policies and methods they used. That's why I encouraged Eva to make this post. So far, the feedback provided has shown us that the wording in our Linkshell post can use some work, because it is giving the wrong impression about us. It has also brought to light the misconception about the leadership of the RPC's involvement in Crystalline, and hopefully cleared it up since only two of our members are also involved in the moderation team, and it's just coincidence like the Blue Skies members. The fact that many of Crystalline's members are heavily involved in the RPC I figured would be a good thing for the shell and encouraging to people to see if they would be interested, but it's surprising to see the perceptions of the "in crowd" and such.. That definitely means there is this air of a clique, which while many of us are friends OOCly, is not something we want to be. While actual recruitment is temporarily closed due to IC, we have kept our website up and encouraged people to join it if they are interested in the pearl. We have a special "Hopeful" status on the website for just that reason. It allows people more access to the forums and the OOC Chatterbox on the site so we can all start to get to know each other even if no one can actually join due to the shell being in this state of development. I'm not sure that many people knew about this option. While I can't agree more with Zizirimu's response to the idea of rumors.. they are what they are. They exist, and they trickle back to people. While making a thread like this isn't about to somehow magically change everyone's opinions or erase rumors, nor is that its purpose, it will help us adjust things such as the text on our LS page and the like so we are more clear in our goals. Hopefully this will help us in future, in organizing inter-LS relationships, our recruitment and events! I for one appreciate everyone's honesty fully thus far!

I too am in middle-of-nowhere Midwest so um. Not really many cons here. I'm shy as hell too so I'd have to go with people. But ugh I'd love to cosplay some XIV nerdiness with you Abai if I could haha.

It sucked. So bad. The RP kept me in XIV and I wouldn't have wanted to spend those two years any other way! I got to see it through from beginning to end. All the patches and improve. The story they created just to keep us entertained while they rebuilt the game. The changes to mechanics that actually made the game FUN! I'm so glad I never left! XIV is my only MMO home, and ARR will be the same! Some of my favorite XIV memories. 2010/1570 2011/1571 2012/1572 Aw.. the memories~

This has been something I've been dealing with a lot since starting RPing again in ARR. Travel! Before the Calamity, Aysun had a chocobo, could take an airship or the ferry, or even just use aether travel if she was really desperate. In ARR however, airship travel has been restricted, and the ferry from Aldenard to Vylbrand is extremely expensive! You can't teleport to aetherytes you haven't attuned to before, so there's no just zipping around to new places.. It presents a fun challenge, really! If he wants to get to Limsa from Gridania, it could be quite a journey! Could take anything from a couple days on chocobo to longer depending on the hardships he encounters. From attacks on the chocobo carriages to trying to afford they ferry ride..

Balmung is the primary server for the RPC, and was selected a long time ago. Gilgamesh is secondary server, for those who don't wish to play on Balmung. Both are technically NA, but we have players from all over! I'm very excited to see your linkshell plans come to life if you join us on Balmung.

I unfortunately can't remember either, but I know it has something to do with being attuned to the aetheryte, you will be returned to it if you are knocked unconscious in the field. Via the aether.~

We've been after SE basically since the launch of 1.0 about an official RP server. Kylin's latest questioning of SE about it left us with the usual "we'll bring it up again" thing. SE is well aware that we want a RP server designated and we are constantly bothering them about it, but it just doesn't seem to be happening.

Wow. Well, I can understand why they want to make 1.0 people happy, but you won't find me on a legacy server. There's no fun in that. Considering the new player base is going to be like 80% bigger than the legacy players, anyone wanting a fresh start is going to want to RP on a non-legacy server if you ask me. Majority rules son. o_o Gilgamesh will be the same as any legacy server within a month of launch. People will have multiple 50s by then and there will be tons of gil in the economy.. A majority of the new RPers here will be joining us on Balmung because that is where the bulk of the RPC resides. Many of the 1.0 RPers are starting fresh on Balmung as well, and those who aren't are going to be helping our new people as much as we can. It is everyone's individual choice, and those who do not wish to start on Balmung can find a fine RP home with you on Gilgamesh. Please let's not turn this thread into all the other server debate threads. The server selections are decided already, and we all know it's very unlikely that we'll ever end up united on one server again due to differences in opinions.

I don't particularly like chat bubbles. If they did introduce them, I'd hope there'd be an option so I could turn them off. I was alarmed when they first showed them in screenshots with no explanation. Luckily, they were NPC chat bubbles, not players talking. So if you do try to petition for them, please ask for it to be an option that can be turned off also!

The characters are being wiped, however the server selection will remain the same. 1.0 characters will still exist on Balmung. Balmung is the primary RP server. It's still considered legacy just because it is a 1.0 server carried over. For those who don't want to join a legacy server, there's the secondary RP server, Gilgamesh. I would love a united server, but at this point some people have made it very clear that they do not want to play on a legacy server.

This thread has some useful information for those who want to assign numbers to their heights and don't know where to start, too. It gives average, shortest, and tallest for each race and gender, using an average human male's (caucasian I believe..?) height for the average Midlander Hyur male as a standard.

I'm one of the numerous Miqo'te set at "shortest" which I guestimated was around 4'8" or so. She's just a very petite character all around, and it does make her slightly awkward how much she has to look up at other characters, but it suits her. It was exceptionally funny because her best friend was about 6'1".

I can understand that. Sometimes you might jsut have to ask in someway? I'm not on the RP servers yet so I'm kinda stuck playing as normal till open beta Balmung is the primary RP server. Gilgamesh is the secondary RP server if you don't want to play on Balmung for whatever reason. Back on topic, I've always wished for a sort of "flag" we could put up for being an RPer. At least in XI we could have put it in our Bazaar comment or something that people would see when they /check'd us. Lots of times you can tell an RPer is IC by if they're walking instead of running in town or wherever. The Intermission/OOC LS on Balmung will be helpful because the members will all be RPers.. but sometimes you just got to ask or post at someone and see if they respond!

The universes have really never been separate, we just haven't had a crossover as blatant as this before. Gilgamesh is stated as always being the same Gilgamesh in ever game he appears in, and counting all the remakes I believe Gilgamesh at this point has appeared in every single numbered title, and even some unnumbered titles. Dissidia also shows that all the universes are connected, and yes I understand the characters (with the exception of Gilgamesh again) are not the real characters, but that the game takes place in a plane that connects all the universes if it can pull the essence of characters from their universe. If they were separate, this wouldn't be possible. Then I wish that they would keep up the trend of not having the cross overs be so blatant.

Not all, but a lot of the Miqo'te names in general have h's. Kinda a theme.

On that note, you're keeping to the traditions just fine which is awesome, but the Seekers do not capitalize the letter after the apostrophe. It should just be X'sato Tia!
