Well if you made them Keepers you'd have a whole 'nother ball of worms to deal with, since Keepers are matriarchal, and have a lot smaller tribes, different naming conventions, etc. There's no indication that Keepers/Seekers would ever 'tribe up' together, being so culturally different. There's not much info given on where Seekers congregate other than some living in Limsa and some in the Sagolii Desert, so if you chose Coerthas I guess at least they'd be away from the others. I think most everything anyone is going to give you now will be based on their own personal preferences when it comes to back story more than lore/character criticisms. I for one do not need or even really like elaborate back stories, so I'd continue to discourage creating an entire tribal system like this. But if you like them, then that's great, and I know others do too--and not everyone has to like your stuff. Hell, others may even want in on it themselves. Family ties and such. Good luck!

Gorgeous style. It's very doll-like. Keep it up!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING -goes to die somewhere, alone-

I think what Shipp was trying to point out was basically that there's no evidence (yet) of the Seeker of the Sun tribes being lead in a such a way that it would pass from father to son (nunh or not, completely irrelevant) or that females can't lead. I kind of agree that it's probably more of an elder-lead type group than anything, but who knows. I'd advise creating your own tribe as well, if you want to use the hereditary passing on of leadership, or leave it ambiguous until we have more info from ARR. All this just makes me glad I had Aysun's family move on from tribal life a couple generations back. >_> It's messy, with the lack of information. I'm very glad you aged him a bit more, that was another thing that had come to mind but I didn't mention. He just seemed to have gone through way too much major stuff to have been that young. I have to echo Eva's and Abodo's sentiments as well: Keep it simple. Your story arc is just going to be one of numerous. Remember your character is not the main character in RP, you are one of many, and we all weave stories together that are much more important than backstory.

SHUT UP YOU.

Here we go! Please, take everything I say here with a grain of salt. This is just opinion, and my interpretation of what we know, etc. Just trying to help you out with the lore and such! Mainly just things that you can think on. Race: Miqo'te, Clan: Seeker of the Sun, Tribe: Wolf. He seems a bit tall for a Miqo'te male. From a study we did, they seem to cap out at about 5'7". This is just an estimate, though, and is not to say there can't be some that are really tall. The status of nunh does not actually give any leadership status in the tribes for Seekers. It simply is for males who breed. So when his father died, it'd be far more likely that another male who was of age and such would take over the job of nunh, not him. If he wants to be nunh, he'd likely have to fight for it, prove himself, or start his own group. "All males are born as tia. At any time in their lives, a tia can challenge the tribe nunh to battle. If the tia is victorious, he takes the nunh’s place as tribe breeding male (until he is challenged and defeated), and the nunh becomes a tia once again (if he survives the ordeal). This is done to ensure that the tribe’s offspring are of the finest stock. Depending on its size, a tribe may have multiple nunh (a ratio of one nunh per ten to fifty females is average). There is only one other way a tia can become a nunh, and that is to leave his tribe, and start his own. This, of course, requires several females to accomplish, and most female Seekers of the Sun are rarely impressed by a male who cannot defeat a nunh. Nunh status does not equate to leadership within a tribe, and in fact, very few nunh ever become leaders." Him opting for a single mate would lose him the name nunh in an instant, me thinks. The tribe system in the Seekers.. is a bit different than I think you are understanding. The tribe itself in his case would be that of Wolf, therefore they would all have W' starting their names, as you sort of have. "The first name is always proceeded by a letter representing their tribe." You may want to say.. his tribe had 10 family groups, rather than clans, as I don't really understand what you mean by it. If they had different letters (like C' or w/e), they would be technically a different tribe. Clans would be that of him being a Seeker of the Sun. I tend to avoid major things in my own stories, but that's just because I prefer simplistic characters that can develop more through RP than complex backstory. I get kind of lost around 1570. The Order, the magic infection.. Maybe you can help me out there.

More info for ya!: In 1.0 Seekers had brown markings, while Keepers had white. I'm thinking this may be one of the traits that is more mix and match though in ARR.
-
Here you go! 1.0 anyway. It's okay to change things around. Brainstorm with people.. all sorts. You got time and you want to do something you'll be happy with!
-
Mm. Just remember Seekers of the Sun have the warm palette and Keepers of the Moon have the cool palette and you'll be fine. Did you settle on a Seeker then (judging from your avatar)?

That is absolutely adorable.

Most of the RPers I've encountered view magic like this. Don't worry. A lot of us even refuse to use Raise for bringing someone back from death, since we're technically KO'd, not dead! There's plenty of evidence in game that magic is definitely not a cure-all.

Treading into OT territory again~ I just want to say that I think a majority of the new RPers to XIV are having that same crisis, you're not alone. The only reason you see a lot of us looking so comfortable in our skins is because we've been playing the characters since launch or even before. Two Three years can make one very comfortable. The Echo.. well. I don't want to give too many spoilers or anything. But when you find out like.. a ton of CS's you've experienced were apparently Echos and your character didn't even know it.. ohgawd. It's so complicated. I pretty much severely play it down in Aysun's story. Luckily she has the personality that I can just have her pretend she doesn't have it, ignore it, etc, for fear of being different or abnormal. Good luck with your characters. Just remember, if you start RPing them and suddenly discover they're coming out differently than you intended you can always tweak things! That's what happened with my own. While her basic personality and story remained the same, it was because I had deliberately kept it mundane until I knew for sure how she was going to be when I played. Some things were added or tweaked later. It'll all come together when you are in the game RPing!

I think these two are giving you good guidance already, I just wanted to chime in a bit. There seems to be a LOT going on around your character that pushes the lore to the limits. I'd advise reeling him in a bit for your own sake! Being Ala Mhigan, if he did not escape during the take over and survived, it is safe to assume he would be one that was brainwashed and turned to work for the Empire. Those who did escape are refugees, and know the fate of many of their fellows that were left behind. In 1.0 storyline, some refugees with the assistance of the Path of the Twelve (adventurers with the Echo) actively try to infiltrate the city to help and are killed. The Echo--here's another thing. Most RPers avoid giving their character the Echo. It's a messy thing that I would have avoided myself had I known what I know now about it. What I can tell you is that those who have it are considered as bad as the Beastmen/Primals by the Garleans and are, as they said, a huge enemy to the Empire. Find an element or two in your story that you /really/ want to keep, such as him being born in Ala Mhigo, or his parent's fate/becoming an orphan, or having the Echo, or being raised among Garleans. Reassess how these things fit together (or more importantly, where they DON'T). Remember, the best part of your character's story won't be his elaborate upbringings; it will be the story you create through RP with others! If you have too much going on already, it casts a shadow over the RP itself!

That look sweet.

AHEM this never happened. Just in the mind of Gerik (and apparently KERR). >_> dat ass.

"certain features" - leads me to believe that most features will still be unique to each clan, so that we don't have just a mess of crossbred Miqo'te. For example, NDA allows me to say that while in 1.0 the colored tailtip was ONLY in Keepers, now in ARR it can be used in both clans.
