The way I've always seen Otto is a man's man. Perhaps he comes from the parents of some Highlanders who were caravan traders; Otto's mother conceived her child on the road. With such a vibrant lifestyle of going from port to port and traveling on the road, he learned about trade, weaponry and of course, women! Now he wanders abroad, seeking some form of solace in his life because women, fighting and business don't cut it for him! It's the mystery of Otto!

No, no, no, no. Everyone is welcome to the event in general, I meant participating in it as an employee to the staff. When you have well over 70 RPers showing up to each event, you have to be in the loop with the other players as to what is being sold, where the stations are, ect. I provide actual menus for events, offer prizes and of course, plenty of RP. From an IC/job perspective, would you really bring a person hired into the LS who promises to be a good bartender, ect, but never shows up to practice to learn his drinks, pick up his uniform, or get to know his fellow associates, come to a major event as an employee? Probably not, no; but they are allowed to come as a patron as some have done in the past. In the end, most RP events hosted become chores, whether they are military organizations, a hunt FC or raiding. It's something that can't be overlooked. The only difference is I make it as fun as possible by paying the employees and offering them and anyone else who wishes to participate in a wider spectrum.

I always wondered whether Gus might crack somewhere down the line and enroll in the military but figured it would be too far out of his spectrum. Thus, furthering his aether knowledge seemed like a better idea. The point is, if you're going to role-play something of the sort, you will find the greatest character development is when things are out of your hand. It is humbling to play someone at the lowest end of the stick so that when your character does reach that Second Lt. rank, it feels well earned. I know a few characters who have made military decisions strictly for IC reasons and I absolutely respect their commitment to the ideal. Perhaps here, in this particular forum, lies the strength to make a completely new FC dedicated to our ideology. Might be interesting to see it held to such standards by talented players. What would it be called and what would it do? Every popular Final Fantasy character has one and we all like one more than another (I love Zidane's Dyne abilities and Vaan's Pyroclasm)![/align] [align=left]If I had to decide one for Gus, it would be "Pumpkinheart". Gus would summon a living pumpkin to fight for him! It would serve as a special pet that has various abilities which when used, drains the limit bar (You can only do 3 actions given the bar has a max level of 3). When it expires, the pet finishes with one final ability. [/align] These are the moves one can choose from: Pumpkin Chasm: An AOE attack of pumpkin vines that burst from the earth, infecting the target with nearly every negative status effect (malboro breath). Jack-o-Lantern: The pumpkin minion shoots balls of fire from its eye sockets, causing powerful fire damage to opponents. Vine-Slash: The pumpkin delivers four powerful attacks with its vines. Spooky Atmosphere: Darkens the area and instills excitement and anxiety into the fellow players, resulting in the status effect: Ghastly (This effect raises total stats by 5%) When all moves expire, the pumpkin finishes with the move: "Paroxysm" which causes the pumpkin to explode, leaving an AOE attack caused by hundreds of flaming pumpkin seeds barraged at the enemies, causing a DOT burn effect. Oh I agree! It used to be set during the weekends but 'Spooky the 13th' has a nice ring to it. Every event has always had well over 70 which is great and that is not why it's being cancelled. We are currently getting a larger staff for one and we now have 2 pearls: one for OOC fun and the other for IC action. There were a few too many that loved the concept but were never obligated to join or help with the events yet they wanted to soak up the RP and be in the event without really helping or practicing (yes, we practice the events ) I might change things around someday. Who knows! I appreciate the 2 cents. They are gold from you. :thumbsup:

There isn't one going on this month. Your friend would be awesome, however we are looking for people that are going to invest a lot of time towards keeping this going. Our numbers are strong, we just need more reliables.

If you build it, they will come. Go for it! It will take a lot of work and dedication but if you focus on this RP event, you can get it to take off. This is coming from someone that's character made pumpkins a staple in Hydalen for breakfast, lunch and dinner all twelve moons! If you need any help at all, let me know. I'd be happy to lend assistance.

A cloak would be AWESOME. I don't think it's too late to say I'd like my coat to have a hood graphic that can go /up or /down with a simple emote!

I always find this to be an interesting idea! We all want something unique for our characters, whether it's clothing or a weapon! Perhaps even a special physical look that is not available on the game or an attack/spell? My question is what would you LOVE? I personally, would want a coat (pumpkin orange of course) with some frays, satchels, notched belts, pouches and little pumpkin ornaments here and there. It would have a nice undershirt with various assortments, ect. topped with a nice wool vest. It sounds SO dreamy. So let's hear it! What would you want?

Welcome back mate! If you ever need an IC job that will provide contacts and links to various organizations as well as fun, spooky RP, seek out Gus and work for the Piquant Pumpkin! There is nothing wrong with starting off small while getting back in the game. I don't think you would! A lot of people say they would die. If this is going off of the Sword Art Online idea, it's quite simple to 'stay alive' if you provide a service to everyone on the game by crafting, ect. Believe me, I'd feel odd being reformatted to look a bit like my sexy self as a Lalafell. I'd finally have an idea what Willow Ufgood felt like being called 'peck' first hand! As such, I am going to be taking a break from Final Fantasy XIV. Right! And that is awesome stuff and there is nothing wrong with that. Because I used the wrong wording, even after explaining that was not my intent, things blew up. It's my own fault really. I suppose in the end, I just want players to enjoy themselves while not forgetting to branch out and play everywhere in the world. Again, my opinion. I try to stay IC all the time. No matter what. You never know when you meet someone new that wants to get into RP and they need a push in the right direction. Some of the best RP can be found in taverns and also some of the worst. But that is not the point. I'd just like to see people using more of the world out there. I can't control people or tell them that my way is correct. All I can do is take the RP out there, offer people something to do IF they want, and that's it. RP for everyone. :thumbsup:
