Finally got Blaze Berringer made. I am such a sucker for glasses-wearing Elezen men x.x.... Though, considering removing those scars. I dunno. Please ignore my awkward phase with mittens...*sobs* -

My current two mains are based off of different facets of my own personality. A'ria, my White Mage, is a very kind-hearted and gentle soul whose only purpose for living is helping people despite her own needs which is often how I handle things. I am a VERY outgoing, extroverted person so she is the inner part of me. I love helping people as much as I possibly can even if I'm also in need of help or don't have the ability to. Even when I'm ill or suffering from a lack of money, I will put my into things just because growing up I had a rough childhood and I hate seeing people suffer. G'iselle is the outward part of me. I'm Scottish-Irish and redheaded so I am a pretty big spitfire. I'm also incredibly blunt and to the point, not afraid to tell people what I think in regards to things. But also, a lot of the times she is misunderstood and considered rude or standoffish when it's just bluntness (something I struggle with a TON). Most of my outside influence for my characters comes from life experience, fictional characters from books I've read, or people I know. One of my favorite characters I have ever RPed was a male Blood Elf warlock in WoW. He was roughly based off of a character from a romance novel called Gabriel's Inferno and then he evolved into a very deep, relatable character that many people enjoyed reading about. I hope I can find that with one of my characters soon. I haven't gotten to RP a lot in this game and so I'm searching for that character I can really lose myself in.

Added o/! Shucks - thank you! I feel the same way about a lot of folks on the forum. If the money I was getting weren't going straight to rent/bills/food, I would get so much art from everyone. ;A; I completely understand. All of my commission money either pays for my game time or goes towards my wedding ring fund for my fiance.

Hello^^! The most RP I have seen so far (I'm still trying to find people too) is at the Quicksand at various points in the day, but beware, lots of trolls there and sometimes some very sexual RP midday (around 2-3pm central time is when I often see that.) I can't really give advice about other areas since I haven't gotten a chance to visit them yet. If you ever see me, feel free to hit me up. I'm usually on A'ria Ashkala or G'iselle Bellerose.

"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"
Nyx Ashkala replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in RP Discussion
I'm having a similar problem in that the layout is in such a way that when I add photos, it knocks the layout around in weird places x.x... Getting images to lay properly is really frustrating on wiki pages sometimes. There's a couple ways of doing it though, that give you a bit of control. The simplest is: But this doesn't give you a lot of control. So another option is to use the class toccolours on a table. Rather than a lecture on code, I'll just post helpful examples. The following creates a table with a title, a picture, & text. The stuff you'll want to change is in the "style" line. "Float" lets you choose alignment, "Margins" are the margins, "background" is the color (either of the box or the bar) in hex code (look up hex colors), font-size is self explanatory, & the 200px after the image is the image size. Other ones that work, for example for text, are "font=" and "color=". Just separate them by a semicolon as shown. This table is horrible looking, to show some of the styling: {| class="toccolours" style="width: 25em; float: right; margin-left:2em; margin-right:0em; margin-bottom:2em; background:#ffcccc" cellspacing="2" ! colspan="2" style="font-size:110%; background:#8DB6CD" | Image Box Title |- ! colspan="2" align="center" | |- ! colspan="2" align="center" style="font-size:130%" | Text Regarding Image. |- |} Here's another example that places just an image, without a background box or border. You can see in the first "style" line where I added border:none & background:transparent {| class="toccolours" style="width: 0em; border:none; float: right; margin-left:2em; margin-right:0em; margin-bottom:2em; background:transparent" cellspacing="2" ! colspan="2" align="center" | |} Finally, images like this can be moved, but the text will just wrap around it. But most people want the next section to fall completely below the image (instead of the image overlapping sections on the side). To do that, at the bottom of a section with an image, place the line: Hope that helps a little. You are seriously the best. After my chores tonight I might tinker with this. Thank you so much! -
I've been waiting for Imogen Heap's new album and she finally released her single this week, Run-Time. The tempo is actually set to her own footsteps when she goes running. 4rHn_CIf9wc

I love music. Like...-love- music. When I hear it, it inspires me on more than a physical and chemical level. It's almost spiritual! Each song brings back memories or induces feeling during new ones for me. Doesn't hurt that it helps me draw a little better^^.

Questions For White Mage/Conjurer Character
Nyx Ashkala replied to Nyx Ashkala's topic in RP Discussion
I never mentioned anyone specifically in this thread avoiding me, but I have noticed an increase of people genuinely going out of their way to avoid talking to me. Yes, I asked for advice, but there are people who have seemed as if my newness to the lore has been an inconvenience to them or a complete turn off. My point isn't that I'm upset that people didn't agree (there were also as many people saying the concept was fine as people not so I really could care less one way or the other), it's that someone else who may be newer than even I might find the treatment and responses as a complete turnoff to other RPers. I know several people have approached me after this thread telling me that they're afraid to voice questions and concerns because they're afraid they'll get jumped or make someone angry and that is what I mean by breast feeding. People shouldn't have to change characters constantly to appease the ones that disagree. I have mentioned that I am grateful for the help and I mean it. However, I didn't post this as a way for people to determine if I'm an irredeemable RPer and that feels like the outcome. -
Questions For White Mage/Conjurer Character
Nyx Ashkala replied to Nyx Ashkala's topic in RP Discussion
I think I'm going to just go with an Aether allergy . I'm starting to get the impression that people are avoiding me ingame because they've seen this thread and while it's kind of ridiculous, it's serving to give me a headache more so than an urge to come up with a plausible character based on what I wanted. I hate changing something I was excited about for the sake of essentially breast feeding people, but it is what it is... -
Questions For White Mage/Conjurer Character
Nyx Ashkala replied to Nyx Ashkala's topic in RP Discussion
Helpful or not, I still like to hear how others play their conjurers so thank you . Right now, A'ria is more focused on botany and using her knowledge of herbs to help heal naturally instead of jumping to magic use every time someone bleeds. I'm kind of approaching this like I did with my Blood Elf priestess on WoW. Not everyone then could wield the Light with 100% accuracy and precision, and using the Light to heal everything could exhaust the healer enough that they aged quicker, or even died (much like Arcane from WoW as well). Then, the Light could actually further injure the person it's being used on because it could heal the body too fast. Correct me if the dangers of healing in this game are different, as I'm still reading up on lore. I just assume that everything should be used in moderation and that it can always be used incorrectly. -
I. Basic Info Characters: A'ria Ashkala, G'iselle Bellerose, Aurora Lunartail (Balmung) Primary character: A'ria Ashkala Linkshells: The Cat's Meow Primary RP linkshell: None currently. II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium, although I can pretty much go heavy if I find myself more involved in a storyline or I feel exceptionally passionate about a character. Views on RP combat and injuries: RP combat is ok with me to an extent. It's one of those things that I've had more bad experiences than good with and I tend to avoid it if I can. I will write about it in forum posts and such, and if I find my character is injured (which I will willingly do for character development), then I will play it out within her story. Views on IC romance: I refuse to do this with anyone but my fiance. I have learned the hard way on too many occassions that people cannot distinguish IC relationships from OOC, and even if someone tells me they can, I refuse to for the sheer fact that drama almost always springs up or develops into toxic relationships. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I am perfectly fine with this concept as long as it is discussed beforehand . Views on lore: I love lore and I will go out of my way to adhere to it, however, since I am so new to the franchise I am going to have to learn as I go. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): This is hard for me to really comment on as I haven't had a lot of exposure to others outside of my own FC. I've seen them abused but I believe they make wonderful tools. III. Other Info Country: Texas,USA Timezone: CST Contact info: Contact me here or ingame. I don't mind .
