1. Your mother's a car? Because if so, she gets to decide what road you drive on when you take her somewhere, dear. As long as you're inside of her driver's seat you'll obey her rules. Now be a dear and slow down.
2. If you get a free car that you can't drive on any roads where you'd want to go, it sure doesn't feel like a prize.
3. I think more of it is indicative of miqo'te traditions than it's indicative of how the miqo'te live now. Although that brings some of the naming conventions into question.
4. This is halfway to a Zen koan. How many kicks? Until you are done.
5. Je ne regrette rien.
6. I seriously wouldn't worry about the fact that your name doesn't fit conventions. That's all they are - conventions. Nine times out of ten, yes, an Elezen girl would not be named Estera. Nine out of ten Elezen girls also won't grow up to swing swords and kill marmots. You don't have to be a slave to conventions if your character's name doesn't quite fit into them. If it helps, think of the conventions as the traditional naming pattern if all else is equal. Using my own character as an example, Rhio Aldul would not have received her name if she had grown up in a traditional Miqo'te community. But she didn't; she grew up in the Ul'dahn community with a mother whose first name was an Elezen name that Rhio's grandmother happened to like. Her name bears traces of her ancestry, but her surname and middle name are decidedly against tradition. There are tons of reasons why your characters' parents may have avoided tradition, and nothing saying that you can't deviate.
7. It's the ears that sell it.
8. Female Miqo'te, Seeker of the Sun. I am now more determined than ever to have a Roegadyn lady among my alts.

I have to double-check some financial stuff, but I'll probably throw money at you.
10. Eh, there's always a way around it. Mtoto's method, for instance. Or in Rhio's case, the fact that her family has been in Ul'dah for a long while and just dropped normal Miqo'te naming conventions in favor of ones that other Ul'dahns would understand. My own name doesn't follow French conventions, but no one seems to question my heritage.
11. pimpin' ain't easy but it's necessary

Great work! Kind of hoping this doesn't lead to another Nel dream. The last one was odd.
13. Yes! Sort of! (It's usually a nickname.)
14. From my recollection, it's less that Ul'dah and Limsa hate one another and more that both of them see the other as a necessary evil they'd like to be rid of. Limsa needs a market but can't serve as one as effective as Ul'dah, and Ul'dah would rather be in charge of all aspects of supply. The conflicts in 1.0 between the Flames and the Maelstrom make it clear that both sides are willing to kick quite a lot of dirt at one another if they think they can actually get away with it. The city-states of Eorzea, as a rule, do not like one another all that much. There's a strong Greek feeling to them, wherein your city is the good one and the group a few miles down the road is outright evil. That having been said, having a place in both cities is entirely plausible, but you'd be seen as something of an outsider in either. Onto constructive criticism beyond that. Thus far, Ryanti's family history definitely feels like the story that the family tells itself. This is not a bad thing. The question is how much of it is absolute fact and how much of it is based entirely upon the endless ego of a large family resting on past laurels. If his family claims to be descended from the Allagan Empire with a long string of genius members, that's great, but it's also the sort of thing that's relying on historical records which are spotty at best and nonexistent at worst. Note that the possibility that these claims are complete nonsense doesn't remove the pressure of being an heir from Ryanti in the slightest, since veracity isn't the first priority of most old money.
15. Jokes aside, Rhio is a traveler and a searcher by nature. ARR is going to be a very interesting experience for her, so I can picture myself doing a lot of this both as a player and a character.
16. Oh come on Rhio just do it The funny part is that Esmé Main isn't half-bad, except for the gender thing.
17. I'm now literally going to picture Ship like this at all times. The fact that he's trying so hard just makes it better.
18. Depending on when you record, I'd love to show up.

Added the name of a planned alt for future reference purposes.
20. Aw, shame-writhing is no fun. Unfortunately, weight is a bit harder to calculate reliably simply because there are gaps in our knowledge about character mass. But we can still use some awkward math to figure out some ranges based on height, armed with a bit of BMI. Which is a terrible indicator in general, but it can work out well enough for these purposes. A normal healthy adult is considered by the CDC to be someone with a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9. The lower end is skinnier, the higher end is fitter or more muscular. (Or heavier and softer, depending on taste.) The formula used is: weight in pounds / ( height in inches ^ 2) X 703 = BMI Except we don't want to find BMI, we want to work backwards from it. So let's just adjust this equation a little bit for what we actually want: (BMI / 703) * height ^ 2 = weight So. Let's figure this out with an average muscular Roegadyn woman with a BMI of 23 (fairly bulky) and a height of 7' (tall side of average). 7' is, of course, 84". We plug all that in and... (23/703) * 84^2 = 231 So she'd be around 231 ponz, which certainly sounds reasonable for a tall and muscular woman. It's not perfect, but it's a worthy kludge without more hard data. Edit: I managed to misspell "writhing," so good work getting math right when you're a writer. Derp me.
