  1. As posted before, there's not really a lot to go on with the dragons. I would advise caution if you're planning on heavily involving dragons with a backstory or any RP central story, as the conflict with the dragons and ishgard is very likely to be subjects touched upon in the future of FFXIV. So just keep that in mind, that while it's not fleshed out much at the moment, that will certainly change throughout the near future of A realm reborn's lifetime.
  2. Just want to throw in a bit of info here. Branding usually forms sunken scars, and almost all result in darkened scars. If you're looking for an upraised scar that's light then cutting scarification is what you're looking for. So while branding fits with hellsguard quite a bit, the cutting scarification is what would really produce that effect. ____________________________________ Anyways, to digress to the topic at hand, Ship has a variety of markings and scars. Tattoos: Shippuu has one tattoo across his left forearm. He obtained it during a visit/stop at Radz-at-Han during his sea travelling days. Obviously he will be marked with the Legacy mark as well. Markings: He has a brand under his left eye, usually covered by his eyepatches. The source of the marking being a closely guarded secret to him. Scars: Ship has no shortage of these, especially when he's often not in the presence of any kind of healer to help the recuperation aspect. Apart from various scars from scuffles and fights adorning his body his body is host to severe scarring across his back. Everything from cuts to lashes and floggings, these are the result of being kept a slave. Along with those his wrists, ankles, and neck are also scared from many years spent in shackles during the same time. Other: He's missing the small finger on his right hand, also a result of his previous enslavement.
  3. Duuuude wat. That shit's awesome and totally surprised the hell out of me. Damn, I've got a few people to draw now...hrmmm.
  4. This.... Just... What the hell! Why you gotta be so awesome?! D:
  5. All the more reason to come to Balmung where you'll be surrounded by a community that's not only tried and true, but helpful and filled with people who are more than willing to lend a hand and provide excellent RP'ing opportunities. Or you could stick with Gilgamesh, and take a gamble on how frequent your RP will be and what quality of RP you may find, and happen to share that server with the cesspool of reddit. Seems like a pretty obvious choice if you ask me.
  6. So I was reinvisioning some of my old 1.0 characters. And decided to doodle up my Highlander Folken. Still deciding which I'm gonna play come release time/phase 4 :l
  7. Tsk...guess I won't be doing that dungeon then No Warrior drops! What a ripoff!
  8. The economy will be no more screwy than one on a newer server either, and in fact will likely be more stable due the amount of seasoned crafters already present. Of course, any new player will have little to worry about over the in game economy as it is. Cause low level characters have so much riding on what's available on the markets right? /sarcasm. Also, those gold highlights contrast awfully with the base hair color chosen.
  9. That's a nice dungeon and all. But what kinda loot drops are we talking about here?
  10. No. The main quest line converges into Ul'dah at the level 15 mark. This is similar to 1.0 where the storylines converged and a lot of it took place in ul'dah and it's territories. Once you finish your airship quest, you then proceed to do dungeons, which end at copperbell mines, the story taking off after that continuing to be in ul'dah regardless of where you initially started.
  11. Um...Not to be rude. But why is this posted in the Artisan section of the forums? Shouldn't this be in FFXIV Discussion or Off Topic?
  12. Except that you cannot. You must first complete up to level 10 story and class quests before you can unlock any other job except for the one you started at. And even then you must go to that classes guild HQ in order to get the initial weapon and "unlock" that specific class. So level 10 being the earliest, and 15 being more reasonable once you have airship access. It's overall a pretty poor system, but prevents users from having to trek across the lands just to find their guild because they started in limsa as a lancer (for example). This system is limiting, but a bit more friendly in terms of narrowing a focus for newer players.
  13. Personally the best way is to simply get a third party program like FRAPS. This way you can take screenshots whenever, even during cutscenes etc.
  14. Honestly I find Miqo'te to be a much farther divergence. They have developed significantly different physiological features. Lalafell may be small and rotund. But they do not have extra limbs. If you were to look at the skeletons of all the races, the Miqo'te one would have the most divergences in terms of skull shape (Given their much higher positioned ears) as well as the obvious tail. Still, it's entirely possible they all share a common ancestry, it's just bizarre why Miqo'te would evolve those specific features, and not come with a penchant of other animalistic mammallian features. This is why FFXI's lore was better in this regard lol. BAM everyone was created by deities. The End.
  15. I'm sorry Nel, but I'm about to debunk you Dissidia ties. The world of dissidia is a mirror realm, the heroes you play as are constructs created by melding the heroes ethereal consciousness with a duplicate body (failed attempts at the merging results in Manikins within the game.) This is all explained within reports in game. Gilgamesh is the only exception to this rule in Duodecim, as he is actually the one and only gilgamesh who happened to stumble upon the realm of Dissidia (Likely drawn by the essence and consciousness of Bartz.) Regardless, Gilgamesh will be making an appearance period in the game. And thus, Dimension hopping is completely canon and plausible (As in generally every FF, especially ones where Gilgamesh make an appearance.) So sadly, some players may not like this Lightning spiel but it kind of comes with the territory of Final Fantasy to be honest. At least with Lightning she has more evidence on her side of the game to support any kind of time travel/dimension travel, as opposed to other less flexible worlds on the subject.
  16. Dat Louisoix... Mite b cool. The last live action commercial for 1.0 was really bad though...
  17. Haha...one of these days I will post something here that makes the title appropriate, I'm sure it's bound to happen. And I'm glad I'm at least able to convey some kind of emotion through my art. Guess that's the whole point of me drawing, to relay some kind of expression I guess? -shrug- But yeah, I'll hopefully be updating more often now. Just getting into the groove of things again.
  18. Well, before this gets knocked to page 3 I suppose I should bump it back up with this. An additional backstory piece, similar to my other finale battle picture. Ship took part in the Battle at Carteneau Flats, but as shown, he didn't do so well. In fact, he didn't even witness the unleashing of the full Calamity.
  19. A mentor? Pfff....I just want a sugar momma to hook me up with some sweet, sweet stuff.
  20. Alright, I'll bite. Think I'll stop there before the list grows far too long.
  21. If only. What a perfect world we'd live in if that were the case. But sadly it will forever remain a minority. While the cat people run around in masses.
  22. Aman weren't the least popular because TERA was an example of a game that had another race that took it even further in the Baraka. The Roegadyn are FFXIV's version of TERA's Baraka. It's just how it is. EDIT: And that's fine. You're part of the demographic that finds Roegadyn to be awesome. There's nothing wrong with that, but unfortunately you're part of the minority. I'll direct you towards the "Post your character" thread and simply take a look at what's all posted. You'll find a lack of a few things, male Roegadyn, Male Highlanders, and maybe one other. While not an accurate representation, it still gives the a somewhat decent picture of how things balance out (Mostly, cat people, cat people everywhere.)
  23. There was no PvP in 1.0 so that has little to do with it. But it's the same reason in most games the large ugly-ish race is always underrepresented. Also the fact that they were only able to be males also limits them. Galka in FFXI were the least populous race, as were Roegadyn in 1.0. They attract certain people, but they're not as universally aesthetically pleasing like the majority of the other races. It actually pretty much boggles my mind that anyone could not see how obvious it is as to why they're less popular. They're not humans, they aren't pretty elves, they aren't catgirl/boy tropes. Even lalafell have higher populations because of their abundance of cute stereotypes. So the gritty hulking race is clearly going to be the least played out of the bunch.
