  1. I know that pain. I need to get Jancis out there to make more friends and connections. What better way than hiding in the gutter? *welcomes Jancis to the gutter* I warned you, though. I make my home in the darkest, deepest depths of the depravity that is this place... Oh, wait, wrong gutter >_>;
  2. I so wanted into that thread, but I couldn't think of anything good to add. Now it has too many people and Vaughn avoids crowds when he doesn't know any of them. *flails* *failing at RP*
  3. I'd love to be a part of this...and drag Jaques along for more of him going "Why do I even let you do this to me?" moments.
  4. Maybe... I've never been part of a racial club before Honestly been feeling a bit weird about it since my backstory is not a typical 'Elezen' thing. So I'm not sure how Vaughn would fit in this sort of thing, but I personally welcome it.
  5. Being based out of Ul'dah, and being an ear to what may be said around political parties, there is a good chance he's heard about the former brothel that's turned into a sanctuary for 'the needy'. They have been asking for donations to help feed and clothes them. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, or at least for a contact, let either myself or Jaques know. We love meeting new people and making RP connections!
  6. Six more days, Otto. Six more days... *prepares one last screenshot to try and boost self...*
  7. *sneaks in* *plays with puppy* *peeks around before giving Ely a noogie* *sneaks out*
  8. Vaughn looked confused. "...last thing anyone wants to see." What did that mean? He continued to look at the golden glow of the waters around the Highlander with fascination until Jaques gently pushed him along to follow T'rahz. He listened as she explained what she did, looking to Jaques with a firm squeeze of his hand. He gave the Duskwight a small smile with a light nod, trying to read him if he thought it was worth a shot. Not just for the companions, but for him as well. "I assume this isn't just a social call," she stated as Vaughn gingerly sat down across from her on one of the chairs. "Ah...yes. Well, we found your flier," he looked to Jaques before looking back to her. "And were wondering if... Ah, are you available...to help a house full of former companions? It's...not that much different from what we just saw...I think. With Ink, I mean." He furrowed his brows slightly as he stumbled over his poor choice of words, hoping she would understand what he meant. Or that Jaques would clarify. Still, Vaughn looked to Jaques, with a soft smile that said he should speak of his own issue as well.
  9. Vaughn jumped just about as much as the clerk did, startled by her being startled. He smiled lightly at her as she started to lead them past the rooms he didn't see, looking amazed by how large a single...no, a network of tents can be. He looks to Jaques nervously as they're led to the tent with all the candles. He watched the miqo'te woman work with Ink, his posture shifting from one leg to the other. 'Master', that word still haunted him. He used it much too often, making Jaques somewhat irritated with every use. No, he was a free man now. Free... She walked up and introduced herself to the two, Vaughn too lost in his thoughts to even speak, let alone make a cohesive sentence.
  10. Jaques and Vaughn already have a date with many feels attached. It's not for another few months, so I don't think there will be much fighting
  11. Beautiful proposal shots... ... Jancis' has all the dialogue and shows off my crappy UI. I guess I could share it anyway. :? Do it! Sometimes it's nice to have dialogue go with the scene.
  12. This is a very interesting way to look at things. While Vaughn doesn't quite fit into any of these, the ones I chose seem to work the best to describe him. Virtue: Charity As a companion, he was expected to give whatever his client asked of him without question. This has led to him not caring much for his own needs in favor for everyone else's. Vice: Gluttony I bet you're surprised it's not lust! But Vaughn can never have quite enough of what he enjoys. He shows great restraint though, and often tries to help others who have a difficult time with their vices. Still, when he loves, he loves with everything he is, giving his partner (and those he calls friend) anything they ask for when they ask for it. He can't get enough of the pleasure he receives from helping others, from spending intimate time with his fiance, and until recently he couldn't get enough of the sedatives he took on a regular basis to calm his nerves.
  13. Vaughn has been, and always will be, a bit of a rogue. This is a ten-year-old character, and it's been a lot of fun figuring out the things this character can do from his origin as an elf from Alfheim (the light elves that have glowing auras, bastard children of Baldr), to slave-turned-pirate captain, to his current incarnation of a combination of both pasts reworked to fit in with FFXIV lore. That said, RPing multiclass jobs isn't much of a stretch. He has his talents and his weaknesses. Originally, he was a master thrower. Anything ranged, he is a (near)perfect shot. Wildwoods having superior eyesight was only a bonus. But he can use blades with proficiency, as long as he can hold it in one hand. Bastard swords and larger he doesn't touch as they are longer than his arm, which to him seems unnecessary. And while in game he is level 50 in both WHM and BLM, he technically is a very crappy mage. Because of a story point, which allowed him to be able to manipulate aether to begin with, he has all the power of a developed mage but the inability to control it. Some of the most interesting RP I've had was when his magic goes haywire ("Suddenly wind!"). He got better! Though, not much... He also doesn't see "Jobs" as being a Bard, or White Mage, or anything like that. A job is what you do that makes you money, and class is your status in society. When in an RP and asked about his Job, he replies with "Secretary of a safe house." When he gets funny looks and asked about his class, he's a "former companion," a status that (to him) is below beggar. And, as such these points, he acts like it. While OOCly he's dabbling in every class/job, ICly he's just a jittery, mentally unstable mess of a commoner.
  14. Might take you up on that. In fact, they have been looking at fixing up one of the abandoned docked ships in Limsa to use for their ceremony...
  15. Well, if we're on the subject of marriage proposals... Jaques asked. Vaughn says "yes!" (As if it was any surprise to those that know them...)
  16. Vaughn looks up at Jaques as he takes his hand, a soft smile spreading on his delicate face. He tilts his head toward Jaques as they walk, but doesn't lean on him, instead just giving a light squeeze of the hand. As Jaques picks up the pace toward the clinic, he jogs a bit to keep up, his legs a bit shorter than the tall Duskwight's. As they enter the tent, Vaughn looks around, holding on to Jaques's hand a bit firmer than necessary. "Ah... Hmm..." The large area was broken into two rooms by a privacy screen in front of a cot with a nearby chair. He shifts uncomfortably as he looks to the drying herbs hanging from the interior poles. He recognized a few, but only due to his experience in combining them with more narcotic substances. His eyes wander to the small tables lined with various tinctures, ointments, and cloths for bandages. He takes a deep breath before walking up to the clerk behind what appeared to be a makeshift desk, something easy to take down and put up should the clinic move to another area where it would be more needed. He glances to Jaques before asking the clerk, "E-excuse me. We're looking for somebody and was wondering if you could help us? Her name is Miss T'rahz. We have one of her fliers, if that helps."
  17. "Doing what?" Jaques asked. "That scowl. Not many find it as charming as I do," Vaughn teases. He finishes his glass of water and sets it back on the bar. Turning back, he watches the larger man's golden eyes scan the top shelf a moment before shifting in place. As Jaques pulls out the flier and looks it over, Vaughn sighs. More out of nervousness than anything, but he tries to look cheerful. He smiles as Jaques suggests Sapphire Avenue. "Then finish that, get a second if you need to. I...want to see if it works. I'm curious about 'mental' healing. I wonder..." He shakes his head lightly, turning back to Jaques. "We should find her." He waits for the Duskwight to finish his water, and possibly a second, before tugging lightly on the collar of his vest with a teasing smirk. Letting go, he pushed open the door that lead out of the Quicksand and down toward the alleys, holding it for Jaques before following him down toward the clinic.
  18. Much like Natalie, I also have a non-lore friendly name. However, this is a character I've played for many years and decided to adapt into the lore using very minor tweaks to his backstory. The most interesting incarnation of Vaughn was when I had him as a companion, basically a high-class whore. Where does this fit into FFXIV lore? I did a bit of searching and found that Ul'dah has a nasty reputation for slave trade and brothels (as does Limsa, which comes in later). Second, I realized (quite a ways into playing) that "Vaughn Antain" is not a lore-friendly name. But, this can be explained away as being a slave companion, owned by a hyur Mistress, further centering him in Ul'dah. When Vaughn lived life as a pirate, I wondered how this would fit in to the pieces I was making my puzzle out of. So I came to the conclusion that he was bought by a pirate captain. His link to Limsa Lominsa, where he eventually found himself on multiple occasions. Now, I know all this is over-simplified, but this is the thought process before really fleshing out the character. As stated before, I already had an established character that I wanted to adapt into FF before I really read the lore, and am still learning how to adapt things I've already RPed (as in, how can a slave know how to read and write when the populous is generally illiterate?). But these little discoveries will help you grow as a a character and an RPer, and as others said, can only be a good thing! Good luck on your own story and I hope to meet you in character as well!
  19. ((OOC: Please inquire first if you wish to join in!)) The sun beat down on the sands of Thanalan, as it always does. The two Elezen shielded themselves from the weather the best they could, but even then it was all they could do to keep the sweat from dripping down their brows. Finally, they reached the city of Ul'dah, which didn't shield them from the heat, but at least provided shade and a place to get water. They entered the Quicksand, the smaller blonde Elezen walking right up to the counter to ask for their drinks. He turns to face the towering, scowling dark-skinned Elezen with a smile. "You're doing it again." He reaches out to tug lightly at the man's beard. "People will get the wrong idea about you." The barkeep set down two glasses of water. The blonde places a couple of gil on the counter before handing one of the glasses to the black-haired man. Before taking a big drink of the water, he asks, "So...where do you think we'll find this...T'rahz? The fliers are...a little vague, but she may be our best bet."
  20. I agree with this. If 34 people are in front of me, I think I can save up for a waist up painted portrait featuring two sexy Elezen men... If you're willing, of course =3
  21. When I get home, I'm so poking you...
