D'aito Kuji

I have an IC tumblr for my Miqo'te: The Adventurer D'aito Kuji. This conceit is that "followers" are subscribers to a newsletter/adventure serial delivered by Moogles. It contains tips, reports, pictures, and other information. Why would adventurers subscribe to such a thing? I dunno, why do people follow tumblr blogs? People do things. But if you're interested, check it out. I do try to keep it as ICly as I can considering the limitations of world - so no "real world" crossovers and such.

The chance to be an official cat girl and not just something that's part of a costume set in a game was too good to pass up. Then I dug into the lore and found that I really enjoyed the backstory and the concept and since I am a cat person in RL, it really suits me.

D'aito wears her starter boots when lounging and her starter top in combination with other bottoms. I rarely have her wear the entire starter outfit. But I am fond of the top and the boots. ICly, they have sentimental value as they are the first "glamourous" things she purchased for herself once she was sufficiently independent as an adventurer. Her tastes have since grown a little more sophisticated.

What in the world brought you to such a random conclusion? *laughs* I dunno exactly, just the way their tribal societies are structured. I was kind of thinking about birds, the way that males have to impress females in order to get them interested, but that's not really the same thing as fertility. And Miqo'te have a reputation for hedonism so it seems like they'd have to have some way of controlling fertility but like everyone else said, there's no doubt natural substances in their world that help do so. I guess that when I read about the Seeker lore in particular, only the breeding male is allowed to mate with select females, that couldn't be the only time Seekers were having sex. But yeah, why would "tradition" trump biology? So just me having dumb thoughts.

I've always kind of presumed that Miqo'te females control their own fertility and are only fertile when they want to be, when sufficiently impressed with a Tia or Nuhn, for instance. But that's probably a little bit "out there."

I really like the idea of the tribes coming from areas where the animals their letters are based on. Unfortunately, this is the first I'm heard of this, else I'd have followed this bit of awesome. I had my character hail from the Southern Sagolii, away from the U-tribe. They'd long ago hunted their local population of Dodo to extinction but still maintained the name, engaging in ceremonial hunts only. Even in light of this compelling idea, I'll keep D'aito's background the same. But if I ever roll a new Miqo'te, I'll have their tribe located where the game they are named after is plentiful. That does make a lot of sense.
