I'm not surprised. When they mentioned the changes to Omega, they had mentioned the loss of the bonus incentives when/if its status changed. I just thought it was a bit of a dick move to lose it for those already there.

Ever since Thursday? I have pretty much the usual pre-early access SB queues, aka cancel through near instant queue. Has anyone else had longer queues? (this does not count the after 12pm PDT queue after the forced logout)

Started queue at 57 min ago with 1086. Now at 94. Pretty much 1086 per hour maybe.

The real question is if it improves the queue for those logging in from 4pm-8pm EDT

You're also far more likely to be able to login as soon as server comes back up AND were able to login without effort than NA players whereas I bet no more than half of those AFKers in NA who got booted won't be RDPing to login/start to queue.

So really all this is doing is screwing over the people in their own time zone because those in Eastern/Central will be able to get home and log in before others and still afk out using the work around. Or the people that get home after that but still have things to do can just do it again. I think it'll help some, but in the grand scheme of things it may do very little. Time will tell, I guess. I think just based on the nature of time zones anyway that this would always be the case unless they did the reset at like 5PM EDT, which I feel would be a bad idea. You're not wrong. It was always going to be an issue regardless of what time they picked, which is why I didn't think this was going to be effective. Their best bet would be to just cut the connection of whatever IP has been flagged as AFK for x amount of time, but I'm honestly not even sure if they have that capability at this point. It's at least 'seemingly' more effective than at 7am PDT like some people wanted. It wouldn't do much.

Y'know, the other server that's considered congested, no one likes to talk about that one. :roll: From all reports of players I've spoken to, their queues during what is considered NA prime time or Balmung problems (Balmung has long queues for a period of 12 hours.) are less than an hour. Usually a cancel-proceed will get them in. What's the queue like on Gilgamesh and when?

It's probably a client-side based force and I'm not sure how well you can do work around it. Because your client is engaged, it gets the error and can't boot.

Having a new data center may help with instances but it doesn't help login queues.

That and even Gilgamesh people are reporting that they're barely ever getting long queues (they usually get ones where you can just cancel-through), even during what NA players consider 'prime time' aka 7pm - 10pm pacific

Adding more data centers? I doubt it. You could say that this is in part a largely player population issue that is exploded by the fact that SE didn't FUCKing. Close. Balmung. when it should have. They're not going to add more servers when the issue is compounded on just a few because they're far too populated. Why don't the players just move to the ones not populated? (Corporate rhetoric, we all know why).

From around 11am PDT to 10pm PDT, you can usually see 1hr+ queues. For a certain time of that, you're usually seeing 2hour+ queues. These times noted on weekends. Balmung has a period where it has almost no queue at all but it's probably just less than the quarter of a day.

If I remember correctly, Balmung and Omega are the ones with these abnormal queues.
