  1. I may have a few soundbites that get stuck in my head. "X-Men, welcome to die!" Also, the obligatory "FINISH HIM!" or "Toasty~" Not to mention when fighting and you hear "Get over here!" Now... "Nuclear launch detected." "EN TARO ADUN!" "Power overwhelming!" "Adun toridas!" "I'm waiting..." "My life for Aiur!" "You must construct additional pylons." "You require more Vespene gas." "Need a light?" "Fire it up!" "You wanna piece of me, boy?" "Gimme something to shoot!" "Jacked up and good to go!" "Ready to roll out!" "I-dentify target!" "Orders, SIR!" "Destination?!" "PRO-CEEDIN'!" "Sonic Boom!" "SHOW ME YOUR MOVES!" "Hey, listen!" "Do a barrel roll!" "Gee, I've been saved by Fox. How swell." "Can't let you do that, Star Fox!" A few.
  2. Excalibur has Anony Moose. It already wins a lot! I don't think many Excalibur peeps visit RPC but I know they have some presence on tumblr. Check out Vergil Vergiliaux Renata or Tahla Polaali.
  3. My full edits on some posts are getting borked, either when full editing or when previewing. My spoiler code tags get moved or duplicated @_@
  4. The Fractal Continuum - Images taken from this gallery.
  5. Dusk Vigil Torn Dungeon Notes! Edit: Thanks to Sounsyy, After the completion of Dusk Vigil and completing the reason why you go into Dusk Vigil I've also found some 1.0 video with Yuhelmeric [and some other Ishgard knights] GuRCH9Zw3VQ
  6. This still has that 90s feel thing going on. Not sure if just because of the color or not. I didn't really recognize anything as much as I had with like a miqo'te or roegadyn from the English 90s-style version. The elezen archer and miqo'te ??? were much more fleeting than the other versions from my memory. Will have to compare.
  7. Curious to know, what prompted you to watch it? The cast? Word of mouth? Actual trailers? The book? I haven't found too many people interested in it.... sadly. I enjoyed it a lotttt.
  8. YO IT IS KAGE. AS AN ARCANINE AND PANCHAM. The world is complete! NO more calling this Lalafell a blueberry or something like that! I really enjoy the use of Kage's hair colors as well. And the beret ahhh! Feels "shiny". Get it? Shiny pokemon! ... orz
  9. So, The Martian. I went to watch it yesterday and enjoyed it. Obviously, it's hard to adapt a novel into a film, even a short fast read such as Andy Weir's The Martian. The novel is only 369 pages. I'm really not a humorous person. I don't take things very lightly and so there's not a single funny bone in my body but I enjoy Mark Watney's humor. That's actually one of the biggest points about him laid out (in the book and viral trailers at least). Mark Watney, botanist and mechanical engineer of the Ares III mission team, is pretty much the most liked crew mate and he is also the morale guy. That's another of the many jobs he has. When you only have 6 crew, each person needs to be able to do more than just one job. The chemist also plots out the trajectories and orbital paths of the Hermes. The programmer also deals with the reactor of the space craft etc. Anyway, the movie could have deal with the desolation and utter desperation a lone man left on a planet, thought dead, but it would have made it for a longer movie and I think the adaptation did alright. Its science is mostly right and for what it didn't, it's plausible or you can suspend your disbelief long enough at the parking meter outside of the theater. The ride was fun.
  10. Their website is fairly frequently used. http://gilgamesh-rp.com/ From what I've gleaned from the few posts I have seen, Gilgamesh RP is fairly insular to the server and RP group. They do it behind closed doors, in LS chats or FC chats and not publicly in the open as the RP in Balmung is. That's not to say that they do not have a lot of RP going on, just that it's not Open like Balmung's RP is. Note: You won't be able to transfer your characters until the 20th, all transfers have been halted as of 4.5 hours before this post.
  11. That's rad! But fucking A I watched the second one and cringed so hard at mostly the voice over. I mean sure it looks like a commercial from the 90s but it wasn't a horrible premise. But his voice D:
  12. Yerp. ESCAPE REALITY. LIVE THE FANTASY. On that note, I think I've seen an NPC in-game say that.
  13. So... I've seen or heard of some strange FFXIV commercials. cox-8F69zM4 9OEw8qAoNT8 New one using 3.0 Heavensward benchmark stuff. _hvN3AkVL2k Would -any- of these interest you? What could they do better? I like the new one mentions the trial. But it uses all Heavensward stuff...
  14. Until they give free transfers to those on Chaos, yes. Those should come after the move of the servers to EU. Crazy. I guess they rethought their idea about the free transfers thing. Re-phrase, perhaps I read your thing wrong. Free transfers are given to any pre-existing character on the Chaos Data Center worlds after the move. They're not going it to people to move to Chaos but off of Chaos.
  15. That's cool, then this notice wasn't for you anyway. So why post?

  17. Merlwyb was present in 1.0, before they ever added Femroes into character creation, so clearly there was intent. Her appearance was purportedly so jarring it caused people to guess she was either an entirely new nonplayable species, or some form of Elezen, at the time. I bullshit you not. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Merlwyb_Bloefhiswyn#Trivia I'll try saying Dina's thought again. Female Roegadyn were never intended to be playable in 1.0. Must like the ever-elusive male Miqo'te and Au Ra. FFXIV undeniably borrows some design elements from FFXI. Are we playing FFXI with prettier graphics? No. Was 1.0 like FFXI with prettier graphics? You'll need to ask someone who played FFXI. Weren't the initial female Roegadyn designs changed too? Concept art make them seem more stocky than their current forms. I thought I'd heard some people say that initial fan rejection led to making the female roegadyn more slim.
  18. Take care! and thank you both <3 Does this mean more staff will be considered or do you believe the current active staff able to dedicate what is necessary to moderate the RPC well as is?
  19. See, part of the problem is that marking is usually done for two reasons. Tank is bad at aggro or there is a specific order that things should be killed (focus down this target and make it dead first). Marking becomes a bit of a tank crutch. Mark because it needs to zerg down because the target does a nasty attack at X time or X HP% (BEES) I think you're looking at it the wrong way... in a standard party if there's two DPS each attacking a different target, it makes the tank's job harder if the tank has to alternate target constantly to keep threat. The marks have nothing to do with the skill of the tank, and everything to do with the skill and attentiveness of the DPS. Ideally, DPS will focus target the tank and will target-of-target and so everything will be fine... but... unfortunately there are some players who are new (even if high in level) or who just flat out don't care about being a team player (they figure "it's the tank's job to keep aggro, not my fault if he can't"). So the marking is basically a big neon sign that says "just in case you're new or a derp, here's the one I want you to have selected when you mash your buttons kthx". I'll respectfully disagree with you here. It's my opinion that it's up to the tank to decide when to mark and that's usually because of the two cases I mentioned above. So if the tank is having a rough time, go for it but the tank should not be even with dps and healer all on different enemies. Rotating your hits is pretty much standard aggro tank procedure, not because of DPS hitting different targets but because everything will generate aggro almost. Spreading DoTs is good and the tank, healer, and dps will do so and should do so. And when you do that, target target's target won't be doing squat. The only times the mob is "wrong" are if DPS go gungho before the tank could adequately pull (unloading when the tank has only provoked [for long distance pulling], shield lobbed, tomahawked, and DRK puller I forgot the name of) or if they didn't focus something that needed it. I stopped marking essentially before I hit 50 on my first tank (PLD). Honestly, for me, it's more work to mark than it is to keep hate and do damage.
  20. Today marks the deadline where you were supposed to make an alt to be transferred before transfers are halted. Any character you make now cannot be transferred until after October 20 at least. October 5th 1am PST will be when transferral is pulled down until October 20 3am PST.

  22. If I didn't get attached to my character I'd be rocking a femroe. In fact, when I took time away from RP, I made a femroe appearance I loved. Unfortunately, I don't have the will, motivation, or aptitude for playing or even roleplaying more than 1 character. Sadly I think what you're seeing is just the microcosm of races played by people. SE census has mentioned that highlanders and roegadyn are some of the least populous races. It's a bummer but there's a reason why we keep getting this different aesthetic. People aren't interested in the current ones, SE translates that into "oh they don't like it, and continues with the cute or pretty ones. Nevermind that I think certain femroes are hot as fuck and are really pretty.
