All the characters are so well written... I created a lady elf first, and was THIIIIIIS close to re-rolling as a Dwarf, since I'd only played humans and elves in Origins before, and DA2 obviously is human-only for the Main character... But then I heard Solas speak, and had to suppress squeals. I don't even LIKE bald men, but DAMN. That little adorable HINT of an accent, the smoothness of his speech, the wonderful, idealistic young guy tempered by an adult's trials... I actually had to fan myself for a moment the last time we talked. <3 EDIT: Dorian is amazing, I'll eventually get around to making a dude person to romance him, but first I need to counter this goody-two-shoes I AM AN HERO elf girl with my gives-no-fucks Qunari mage, who will get in ALL the pants. All of them. Every last one. Even Dorian's, if only to rifle through his pockets.

AIEE! Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark! Man, those are frightening, especially with those Stephen Gammell ink drawings. That's almost safe and homey compared to some of that stuff I read last night...just saying, check your walls.

Do theatre in real life AND in game? SURE, why not! I can totally use more lines to memorize. Or will...once I'm finally on Balmung. >.> And not spending every waking moment leveling.

How long is Too Long, I wonder? Does it need to be perfect, or is a good gut feeling about it good enough to let it grow on you? I started overthinking this while I was overthinking my name ideas, so that's probably a sign, but what the hey, insomnia forum posting is fun.

Anyone else do it? I find it's a trap I often sink into in computer RPGs, where I can't just erase the name and write in a new one like in tabletop games. Typically I end up right back where I started anyway! :blush:

No such luck. I'm thinking I really will end up transferring over, I'm not about to destroy my circadian rhythm just to create a character on one server, heh. Though I might give it another day or two just to be sure. One would hope things are dropping off a little a week post-patch, but time will tell.

Man, I was trying at that ungodly hour too and it was never open for me. Hmm. Oh well. @Inessa: While it's a nice thought, that's a chunk of cash I'd really rather not spend if I don't absolutely have to. Waiting until yet another patch shows up makes re-subbing kinda pointless as well, given how long it takes for those to show up. I'm a victim of my own bad timing, not knowing that the patch dropped the very DAY I re-subbed, but still.

Argh. I feel the problems getting into Balmung. I lost track of how many times I've attempted to find an unlocked minute to do it over the past 24 hours. IDK, maybe there'll be a window tonight when people start leaving for Maintenance.
