I'm a sucker for the "one is stoic grump and the other is the energetic happy one" trope, as evidently reflected in my RP with Shofie+Rhen. Even better cause bonus points because he's gigantic, grumps and quiet, and she's tiny, cheerful and talkative.

You don't need hundreds of millions of gil; you just need to be patient and diligent in checking the housing wards and seeing if a plot is available to purchase. I imagine the easiest way to do this is just camp the Aetheryte in the housing area you're most interested in, and wait to see if a plot becomes available. Or camp in the ward you want, etc. That said, this is always a gamble and incredibly time-consuming, so whether this is actually a viable option is up to you. They're going to add "apartments" and the Ishgard housing ward "soon", so that's something to look forward to.

When in doubt, questions like this need to be brought to the official forums where you can hopefully get an answer from a developer. GMs do not always have the most up-to-date information. GMs can and do often contradict one another, and should not always be hailed as a definitive source on things of this nature, especially since it's very easy to misunderstand what people are wanting to know.

The short answer for me is: Yes. Longer answer: Shofie has been seriously injured a few times, including at least one incident which caused her to miscarry (and subsequently has led to her being unable to have more children). It's basically the only scar she has IC. I had a character slated for being murdered eventually (she was not a Good Guy) but a huge change of plans ended up stopping that. I don't think I could ever kill off Shof, though. She's a little too near and dear to me for that.

I try to update mine once every few months, or after every major content patch that has a big impact on my character's personal story.

I afk frequently without any warning, and if someone sends me a tell that simply says, "Hi!" with no other information, I will often not reply. If you say, "Hi! I was wondering if you'd like to roleplay sometime?" I might be more inclined to answer. But! I am also a very shy person and socially awkward, so I still might not reply. But that's not really a reflection of the person whispering me or anything--I'm just super shy.

I think if you're going to do this, try to be respectful about it and definitely do a lot of research beforehand. I'm also not a fan of people who decide to rp a disability only to more or less completely ignore that they have said disability, but this is down to a case-by-case sort of basis. Again, there's a right and a wrong way to handle it, or more accurately, a respectful and disrespectful way to handle it.

Shofie is eternally bonded to a fellow miqo'te, and while for all intents and purposes what they have is a marriage, it's not technically a marriage. Since they're both miqo'te, but both have been raised in very non-traditional settings, they eschew the whole typical miqo'te lifestyle thing and more or less try to blend in with the city life. For them, their bond translates to a sense of utter devotion to one another. Having said that, I have no qualms about people who want to rp marriage, or even marrying a miqo'te, though I do think of all the current races in the game, miqo'te would be the least likely to agree to an actual marriage, considering their cultural beliefs. I'm sure, however, that a miqo'te with enough motivation would agree to marriage. I do feel like certain races would be unlikely to get married, but in roleplay, anything is within the realm of possibility.

Shofie endured a retcon for a few reasons, and now she's a little more punchy-oriented than her previous incarnation, so here's her new look. (I hope it's acceptable to necro my own art thread rather than make a new one!) With her lover, C'mahji. This started as an image reference for 'Mahji's tattoos, and I just ended up continuing the drawing and adding her.

I'd love I to attend this, just lemme know when and where, and hopefully I can make it. Shofie's mixed heritage so this would definitely be of interest to her, I think.

I don't mind miqo'te harems at all, in fact, I kinda dig that a game actually has an outlet for what is, or at least what should be in most cases, a healthy type of polyamoury. That is, most miqo'te are aware they are non-monogamous, and everyone's on board and comfortable with everything. Now, it doesn't always play out that way, but the option is there. Really, most of the lore surrounding miqo'te is how their tribes function for sexual purposes, so naturally a lot of the people roleplaying one are going to touch on this at some point.

Ah, awesome! Thanks for the link, I'll have to give it a good read when I'm home from work. I'm still interesting in chatting with folks about this though, as I definitely do not want to resurrect a really old thread to discuss it.

I know there isn't a lot of official lore about how Moon Keeper tribes are handled, so I was curious: If you RP as a Keeper of the Moon, do you have any interesting things you feel work for Keepers? Do you run your tribe a specific way? Does your tribe have any traditions or customs? Where would they likely be located? Are there any in-game Keeper tribes I may have missed when I was leveling? The only tribe at all off the top of my head I can think of is the U-tribe, but they are a Seeker tribe, so they won't particularly work for this. Do you have any good sites you like for lore involving Keepers? My character grew up in a Keeper tribe, and I need to basically think of how I want to handle it for backstory purposes, so I'm brainstorming for ideas at this stage. She's estranged from her tribe currently, so it's not been something I needed to really worry about, but I figure it's going to come up at some point sooner or later.
