I admit I am more forgiving in this game simply because name change isn't an easy option without having to transfer servers; if the character is of a high level and obviously has some investment to it and that player has taken up role play, it's not a big deal. But I am discouraged by a name of leet haxors and some such on a low level character. Granted they could have an IC name, but I as the person at the monitor can only remember so much about every acquaintance and it becomes clutter I have to remember instead of just getting lost in the moment and the persona of my character interacting.

This is really useful to someone like me. I always feel so awkward and I blank on what to approach people and say. It wouldn't be too hard to just ask if this spot is open or lean on the railing and just say hello and why are you here. Thank you so much!

Awesome idea! The other day I was role playing in the Mist and we recruited the help of a scholar lalafell named Rurujua to help out with a storyline. He was delightful and hilarious, very engaging. If he didn't agree to come and help out the whole scene would have been over and dull. Thanks again!

A sports competition that's like sparing but with dice sounds like a fun idea. Four people should be able to do it easily enough 2vs2.

CC! I think it's kind of an oversight to not mention the Achaea MUD because the immersion and the full-time role play that game demanded really showed how someone could stay in character. That was the one I fell in love with for years, Avatar was a fun hack-n-slash though. I heard of GemStone before. It had a subscription, right? At the time I couldn't do more than donate time-to-time so that wasn't an option for me. Yay for people who even know the term MUD! It's really fun to get caught "off guard" with role play and go with it instead of saying "LOL sorry my character isn't here." and CC is really good at that.

Yes I love those games! I use to play a emulator version of Zelda at my first intern job at Los Angeles City Hall when the day was boring. It really got me into loving adventure! Welcome and great to have you around the community maybe our characters will bump into each other sometime.

This website has helped me get a free company and now that I understand what a linkshell is I'm hoping to come across more of those and expand my horizons and meet more people. I created a wiki page for my character and I've honestly been struggling with her. I'm not sure if it's a mix of being new/leveling and learning, but her persona is difficult to intermingle with people so far. I've put her background as a secluded war victim that has grown up to find hope in the twelve and devoted her life to assisting those who fight and protect the innocent. She has high morals but she is not a paladin/Sultansworn and I'm not sure if that's a good mix. The wiki is linked in my signature. Any advice would be most welcome.

Hello! I play Jancis Milburga on the Balmung server. I'm new to the Final Fantasy realm all around and have been playing for almost two months casually. I'm enjoying the game and the overall concept and really interested in having role play adventures and connections. I've played other games in the past include WoW, LotRO, private NWN servers, and even MUDs. I've also done forum role play particularly about the Dragonriders of Pern. Really excited to become a small part of the forum board and make some new friends.
