1. I'm just going to make one boss fight. Cavern of the Corrupted Soul Overwhelmed by a corrupted soul stone, Jancis has to be subdued before unleashing an aether-absorbing power into Eorzea. "Lords. Ladies. I am so happy you are here. Soon all of Eorzea will be free." Fight starts when the corrupted soul is attacked. "I beseech you! You know not what you do!" Jancis has a low health pool but makes up for it with giant mana pool. Her defense is low. She stands in front of the corrupted soul and tries to shield it with her body. Stone Protection Jancis will cast Stone Protection around the Corrupted Soul. This drains a significant amount of her mana. Once enough DPS is done to the stone she will renew the buff. Instant Cast Spell. Wrath of the Coral Sea If Jancis' health drops below 90%, a light post will appear where members of the Coral Sea will show up to. Seeing Jancis is in danger, they will obliterate everyone and wipe the raid. Lover's Call After the first Stone Protection is broken, Jancis will call on Alveo. Alveo has a large health pool and will fixate on a random member of the raid. Should he reach his target, his melee attack hits for 85% of maximum health. He gains a stacking buff which speeds up his movement over time should he not get wounded. Once his health has been taken down enough, he will lose his speed buff and fixate another target. This continues until Alveo is defeated. Jancis' Spells (All of these use up a small portion of her mana. All can be interrupted.) Stone Spikes: In random areas of the cavern, Jancis will make the rock jut up, stabbing anyone who stands in the area of effect. Those hit take a damage penalty. Water Gush: Jancis will send a stream of water out from in front of her. Anyone caught in it gets knocked back and slowed. Wind Whip: Jancis will keep up repeatedly as a constant and consistent damage on the raid that sends out three pulses of wind damage. Wife's Cure: Always directed at Alveo, will heal him for 40% of his health. Corrupted Soul Stone Spells (not interrupt able. Hard Mode the stone has already increased in power and has more abilities) (HM)Stone Prison: Traps a random raid member draining their health over time or until the prison is broken. Jancis' abilities are negated on anyone in a prison. Wind Sheer: A blast of damage on a selected target. Anyone who stands in front of the selected target will take the blast instead. (HM)Drown: A sphere of water envelops a random raid member and will drain 110% of their health before dissipating. Jancis' abilities are negated on anyone in the sphere. OOM - Shroud and Revive: Once Jancis runs out of mana, she will collapse and recover. The soul stone will be unprotected from stone protection and can be attacked. Once the soul stone is killed, Jancis is free of its control over her. Jancis will cast Shroud on herself to regain mana and begin casting Revive on Alveo. If she succeeds her cast, Alveo will enrage and use his Inner Dragon Fire to wipe the raid. Quotes: "Please, forgive me." "Beloved! You are here." "Alveo... no... no!" "The Elements are not moved by your plight. Cease this attack at once. Come to your senses." "I am... not done yet. Alveo, do not give up. Back on your feet. I need you." "Thaliak... grant me clarity. I have caused grave harm, but you have come to my aid despite my atrocities. Are you hurt?"
2. You mean like the last time you tried to harass one of their members? ((FYI Everyone by the lamppost is Coral. So is the handsome man with the mask and the spear.))
3. Pestering?! [23:16][FC] This site is magical. Yes. The truth!! I got to meet Jezune the other day and the character is very animated and has a couple good quirks. Plus Jancis is simply adoring him. Like way too much. Welcome!
4. The Coral gathers at the Grindstone last week. With friend; a newer role player that I was really happy to see show up at the fight.
5. Jancis walked into the Maelstrom's main office, a place she was getting use to entering on a regular basis. At the counter was a familiar face, another Private who was busy with paperwork. The notion of paperwork still amazed Jancis, but at this time it would work out in her favor. "Good day." she greeted. "Oh aye, 'ood day indeed. Word has come back on that operation ' tha Shroud. Well done. Something of a reward been set." the Private spoke, bringing up papers from behind the counter. Always with papers. "Yes. That gil is to go to Sir Iono's coffers. Can you arrange for that?" Jancis asked politely. "Aye, I can. Reward's a reward." the woman muttered a bit having to redo some of the work on the document she started filling out. "It'd be done by the morn." "Thank you so much." Jancis bowed her head, which only got a quick retort, "Ye don't bow to me." Leaving the office, Jancis returned to the Mizzenmast. A few days to recover, but at the same time she had to find Oscare as he requested. She'd only stay long enough to grab her basic supplies before setting out once more.
6. Jancis gets a present... not sure if I'm as happy with it as she is.
7. Hey that has lines omitted! >> Oscare Iono: Heart Breaker. Hehehe Oscare Iono >> I'M A HEART BREAKER Oscare Iono >> ORLY >> Oscare Iono: Huh? Hehehe I'm sure Look at that thread it's crazy! >> Oscare Iono: Everyone wants a piece off that dark chocolate bar. Oscare Iono >> Oh my god Oscare Iono >> yes >> Oscare Iono: Hehehe Oscare Iono >> I nearly spat my juice all over my monitor from laughing to hard >> Oscare Iono: Hahahaha my face hurts. I'm so glad I got out of work early because *this* is such a distraction Oscare Iono >> THIS IS THE BEST DISTRACTION Oscare Iono >> I'VE BEEN CRYING FOR LIKE 6 MINUTES >> Oscare Iono: Oh Gods! You copy and pasted *hides forever* Hahahaha Oscare Iono >> THAT WASN'T GOING TO REMAIN PRIVATE FOR LONG HONEY
8. Oh Gods Oscare can make anyone stare. And he knows it. He knows he's a heartbreaker... but still. (plus there's a huge heart underneath all that tone muscle). CC stop pointing out the obvious!:blush:
9. That is the most adorable picture. Short with Tall = Win
10. I think ultimately the biggest draw for me after these characters and personas that I personally care for get dragged through is that they will survive and live on. Become better from it in some way. Really makes the ordeal worth it and creates a real bond.
11. Oh don't I know it... I'm hanging on the edge of my seat for every steamy snippet of what I make up in my head. Example: He almost said Coatleque and caught himself! Eeeeee!! Also see idiot character fell madly for; at least she's happy. No wonder Jancis was bid not to come with! CC that is beyond perfect. *on cloud nine* .... and yes he is the mountain.
12. Think of all the weavers CC has turned down for a mountain. Geez, at least they have jobs that don't involve dying CC! Also I'll give you a dollar to write something nice about Jancis on a green post-it. Or 1000gil - whichever is acceptable.
13. Seconded! Beyond the quick accent and slang the retorts and his priorities are a hoot! I think that helps more with the stress is that you just adore the character. It's like a fun game of chess sometimes.
14. Oh Gods I do that all the time! Blending characters is tough. My WoW character would be so furious at the nonsense Jancis puts up with and the weakness of so many people around her and would refuse to cry. I've spent years with her and so getting out of her mindset is tough; it's muscle memory for character reactions and they're all wrong! Poor Jancis! I think especially starting out in role play it helps to have a character that is alike to you, or reflects the "rose-hued glasses" of yourself or whatever you want to aspire to be more like. It's easier and more fulfilling at points. Tougher role players who like the challenge go out of their comfort zone and try something off the wall. I could never get the hang of that.
15. Woot! I will be missing the first event on the 12th Saturday and some of the following week. Jancis is more of a filler character typically so she's there to support the true defenders. Healing, carrying stuff, etc. She always has her friends' backs.
16. Aww his oblivious and polite manner is what makes Warren such a catch! Seriously though I do care a lot about my characters as well. I love them terribly and sometimes it is difficult to reign in and focus on how their suffering and loss is really a joy at times. I do find some of my own frustration bleeding across the screen time to time and then, bam, Jancis is acting uncharacteristically. I even wrote that once in the role play that she acted differently and lashed out at someone because I was beyond knowing what the hell else to do. Lashed out with water. Knocked the guy on his ass. Yes, Alveo. Now she role plays it with serious guilt if it's ever brought up. The wiki helps and I have my own notepad of "if this; then that" to help me kind of stay in tune. Still sometimes I have to step back and "un-attach" myself from the character. It's like a good movie; just get drawn into it all. Immersion! Magic! Aaahhh!
17. What role players are best at, passion! Lalalalalalala
18. Jancis sat in the air deck of Ul'dah, occupying one the tables available by the air ships, in the early morning predawn. It did not feel like the most suitable place to offer prayers for Cici who had left over a day ago, now up in Coerthas without her. Still she did anyway, for the rivers to flow and bring knowledge at hand when truly needed. For their trek to not be fruitless. And for themselves to return safely, even if all else failed. The conversation still echo'ed in Jancis' mind; ultimately the lady knight was convincing enough to make her stay behind, the lapis on her hand being the main reason, instead of going north to help Sir Castille. At the same time she awaited word from Oscare and what, if anything, he had found out. The idea of an enemy knowing more about the inner workings was a new concept. Either way, to be of help to anyone she had to be prepared. The deck creaked as the air ship finally docked and Jancis gathered her simple parcels. She'd make for Gridania and stay there. The Shroud would be a more ideal place to wait for word from anyone.
19. It's getting a little creepy. Don't want to get stuck fending off paparazzi with stones and wind and cleric stance.
20. ... Here's my conversation: JM: Bigger Pecks?! CC: Ummm... JM: rMFWc_FMhqs
21. *utterly unconscious* Good grief making them sound like some sort of royal couple. And why do their initials look like some kind of wrestling group? WCCC!
22. "It that not a bit of untruth?" The voice is kind and semi-apologetic, "After all, you are blessed with family. Is that not love? When they pass on, it will be an enormous pain to get accustomed to. But the strength of it will fade in time; you will get use to it." "I have read about one true love before. That is for story books; to bring such a thing into real life will set yourself up for disappointment and set unrealistic ideals on those you do love. Would you fail to accept their flaws? Or fail to understand that you must change and adapt as they do in turn? Forgive me, but what should happen were they to die? Could you love again?"
23. Aww is everyone fragile? Don't go breaking China Doll Sir Castille.
24. I find it's really like what Berrod said, have to make up reasons to travel if your character is suppose to be doing that. I started a short note list recently for myself on writing down spots that looked interesting and useful for role play situations as I turn in quests or explore. That way if I come up with an idea for some story plot line or even small event I have a cheat sheet of where in the world that idea could work out at. Off the top of my head for example: Gridania has the Botany guild and their 'guildhall' looks a lot like a cute semi-farmer market with vegetables and flowers to purchase. Jancis has lured her poor friends in there before to buy things and do other stupid nonsense antics such as pick out flowers for their lady, eat a dragon pepper, or argue about the use of almonds in a pie. There's a spot in Central Thalanan that has a huge flower growing and is really green with a bit of a rock alcove that's great for meditation or learning about elements. In Southern Thalanan with the beastmen tribe (sahagin?) there's a "backdoor" entrance into their area with a little campsite with barrels and chests that we used to steal back goods from a caravan raid. I think the idea of travelling is great and it starts with just keeping eyes open while out doing other things and finding a way to incorporate what is found outside of city walls (or even in city walls).
