  1. Ankles. Feet. A curious pair of feet far off in the distance, shining in their armor, that ended up walking forward then walking backwards out of sight. A begging elderly elezen man around the other feet as the fiasco continued. Jancis blissfully missed watching one of the Sultana's own manhandle the gelatinous splendor from her viewpoint. But her eyes did catch her quarry! The lovely damsel rodent in her fluffy glory nibbling on the tasty treats that brought the overhead world to attention in the first place. If only she could get that bag, mayhaps the rat would follow suit... Taking her basic wand, a stick of little description, she reached out, hoping to snag the side of the treat bag. The knotted stick prodded at the bag, crunching it, as it worked its way into catching or poking through.
  2. Nothing brings people together more than horrific trauma...
  3. I noticed that the gear that's created shows who created it so there should be a market to have Master Vann's brand on your hand! Catchy I remember in a MUD long ago some people had the ability to engrave and embroider gear. This discussion made me think of that. Considering gear can remember what materia and glamour is saved on it, it would be a nice extra have the ability to engrave. Vann's Brand on your Hand
  4. Agreed this game has a definite charm to it. A friend bought it as a gift for me and then a few other friends started playing it so I kept up with it. It is cute. Unfairly cute.
  5. One of the chocolate-covered goodies bounced towards the gutter, stopping short on the street. A gloved hand snakes out of the gutter, reaching for the nutty treat. After a moment of stretching, the chocolate treasure is grabbed and brought back out of sight to those in the road. ~~ Jancis looked at what she found closer. She was crunched over in this small washout gutter she took a break at with a little bit of fresh air. Candy and an exclamation; Thaliak only knew what was going on up there. Putting her lantern down, she peers out to see what was going on above.
  6. Could do a few photos anyway. Do the Gallant Do the Optional Do the Bomb
  7. Beautiful proposal shots... ... Jancis' has all the dialogue and shows off my crappy UI. I guess I could share it anyway. :? Corn warning

  9. I think it's rather impressive for them to include a pillar. Pillars make life better.
  10. Shows up later at the Grindstone with bits of dried blood on his armor and hair... Reassures Jancis that most of it isn't his... o_O What did I miss in Limsa?!
  11. Wait what? Jancis tried to go visit Oscare at his med bay, but he was busy talking to B'ren! Ship them! *stays on dry land*
  12. ((Said I could do whatever I wanted to him. Lalala)) Jancis gratefully sat on the small bed in the equally small inn room. Her gil was spent. After Hornet had become champion (with a small congratulations), the conjurer had assisted Oscare back to Ul'dah. Laying down she stared at the ceiling for a minute before falling asleep recalling that she forgot to leave the man's glasses. Earlier... The Goblet had not been far, but the Quicksand was closer and they were both exhausted in mind and body. Jancis had enough gil to get the man a generous room at the Hourglass with a basin and large bed that would easily fit more than two people. The sheets were linen and soft, the pillows of down, and the stuffing of the matress a mix of padded blankets and fleece. It was warm and inviting in more ways than one. Keeping the lights dim, she left him for awhile with a washcloth and a hot bucket of water to wash himself off as she found a large night shirt to buy on the strip. Granted it turned out to be too big, but it served its purpose to get the highlander out of the grim-clad and blood-soaked garments. He had been so shaken up, and his violent outburst was even more concerning, that he stayed quiet even as she helped him wash his hair and put him to bed. Why she did not know; it was so unlike the man. As if he wasn't in control of himself... She left a note before retiring to her own room: Oscare, The room comes with a meal. Pray eat when you awaken; you need your strength. ~Jancis

  14. To be horrifically frank, if someone wasn't in my guild/free company I would not make them core. Period; no exceptions. The raid group is not that person's priority if they can't be in the guild that talks about it, has forum boards about it, can hear each other on a daily basis, work together, etc. It was too important of a show of commitment. If someone was showing up as a bench spot consistently I would eventually poach them from whatever nonsense guild they were in. I realize that sounds terrible. Sorry.
  15. I think it depends on how much progression is important and if it's just a fad with the new content. Best way to get started with this goal is to ask friends and be available to fill in. - Ask what is expected and be prepared for that with supplies, spells, guides, theory, etc. - Ask when they usually run and be around those times. If they need bench people etc. It's always important to give core people a break and to keep a bench up-to-speed and interested so swaps in a good regular static should happen often. Plus I can imagine it with role players in particular they probably like to take a night off. - If you see someone that you really got in-sync with at a PuG talk to them see if they're on the same server and friend them. Even if the group was a failure there was success in meeting a potential person for a static. Or maybe it was an off-night in their group/they were helping a friend/they were gearing an alt/etc and they might invite you into their main static activities. Otherwise if this is something that's becoming a super interest there's a difference between a progression-driven player and a role player more often than not. My experience in a different game came back to that conclusion time and time again. Figure out your goals, what you are willing and aren't willing to do, then ask around and see if another group of people are striving for basically the same thing. A guild/free company was typically the way to go in that case because keeping up with separate people was a huge investment of time with little return. Particularly in progression-based goals wasting time was not an option. But to start out keep using Party Finder keep asking friends maybe set up a little time and figure out when most people are free. Having 4+ people that know each other in a group is a huge step up from total strangers and, even if it fails, it's less of a disappointment.
  16. This is a fun thing to think about! Also, to a point it's great to talk about in character because someone can always react to whatever name they're being called. Jancis' background has name as a large factor of her character reaction because she ended up choosing her own name out of a fictional book she read. She finds nicknames or someone giving her a name a very large honor. Giving someone a name comes from an impression or feeling that person, so it comes from the heart (be it sarcastic or sincere) and that person has made an impact on them. It's a very connecting experience to Jancis. I know this isn't exactly a name but titles also fall into it because it's kind of a given importance and attached to a name, giving it worth. Jancis is infamous for this habit, calling anyone by "Lord" and "Lady" regardless of social status. She'll change over to "Sir" "Master" sometimes depending on what she's told, but when people aren't around she'll put titles on their names. "Lady Hornet" "Sir Iono" Considering her nomad childhood, and polite manner, it's kind of an inside secret to 'fight the machine' by making everyone as important as everyone else.
  17. Third time's the charm! Hopefully Jancis will help out so everyone is pool party ready after all the ouchies. Nevermind... Jancis' once again getting pulled away by other powers... Have fun taking him and his minions out.
  18. Those guys are trying to steal our waves. Let's go to their tower and show them whose beach this is! yHEFepmIpsI
  19. I feel so much guilt for Tom. Yes White Mage - I am as useless as possible by design. IC would be very awkward. In a world where 24 strangers just happen to be at a beach party must save the world from ultimate annihilation...
