So do the time skippers age? If you were 20 at Carteneau and popped back 5 years later, would you still be 20 (physiologically), or would you be 25?

Part one of phase 3 was this weekend. There are still two parts left, plus phase 4 before the game launches fully at the end of august.

Actually magitech engineer would be the closest to an auto mechanic. FF14 has machines and airships and whatnot in it. Also, welcome! Magitech is like regular science, except without all those pesky "physics".

I know what you mean. A good group of friends can mean the difference between playing a game five years and five months. With Game of Thrones over all of this enthusiasm behind the concept, I'll be working harder than a cat trying to burry a turd on a marble floor to get this thing going!

So I have an idea for a linkshell group. It's called "Knights of the Twelve", and it's centered around the philosophy of the paladin. That's not to say that only paladin type characters are welcome, only that the emphasis is on helping others and doing good/heroic deeds. I'd like the group to be heavily RP focused. If anyone is interested in this sort of thing, please reply to this thread to show your support.

Imagine yourself in the thick of battle. Garlean forces are raining artillery fire upon you, and all around men breath their last as the light drains from their eyes. Perched upon your armored chocobo you charge the enemy's lines, sword in hand, eager to repay them for the destruction they've wrought. The first enemy you come upon looks paralyzed by fear. He's barely a man, not even any whiskers yet. Probably his first battle. You wonder if he has a mother back home who told him not to go to war. Maybe she's sick, and he had to to afford medecine. Maybe he bought in to all that imperial propoganda, and he's just a misguided kid. You push those thoughts from your mind as you raise your sword and with a mighty shout, bring it down. You split the boy's skull in a burst of crimson, and he falls dead to the ground. Now imagine all of that with this in the background...

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy, but I like having a designated OOC channel. Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't want to start a fight on here, but I am of the mind that a character's level is an important part of deciding how strong he/she is IC. I have no issues with settling a conflict with a duel, /roll combat, or even some odd challenge, as long as all parties agree on the method of resolution. Same goes with injuries. Do whatever you want to my or someone elses character as long as there's agreement ahead of time. Views on IC romance: Love and lust are as fundamental to life as food and water. It's an inescapable part of human nature and I think to avoid it in RP is closing the door on a tremendous amount of creative opportunity. As far as ERP goes, it might be that I'm as gay as a sack of glitter being thrown into a rainbow, but I believe whatever two (or more /shrug) consnenting players want to do with their free time is up to them. And come on, you can't honestly tell me you aren't just a little curious to see what other people can think of to do with a mi'quote's tail... Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): That's a really broad topic, but I guess I'm open to just about anything and everything. I like RP-PvP, RP-PvE, and even just RP-sitting around. Views on lore: FF14 is pretty sparse on lore. Some might see that as a hindrance, but I see it as a creative opportunity. The Garlean Empire for example is based mostly on speculation. This gives players a lot of leeway when constructing characters. What lore does exist though I think should be followed rigorously. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say is always IC for me. I do like to have a designated OOC channel though. It doesn't look like FF14 is going to be very obliging on that front seeing as linkshells lore wise are communication devices and and thus link chat serves an IC purpose. Thanks guys, glad to see there are people awake. Tell me, will our beta characters be usable at launch of the actual game?

Long time roleplayer here. RP'ed in FF14 v1, and I just spent my first hour or so in the beta for v2 and thought, I wonder what the RP is going to be like. Now I'm here =)
