  1. At the far corner of the street under a lamp post, Coatleque stood with arms crossed while watching the crowd. She had just come from the palace, silver armor glinting under what was left of the sunlight that day. The pontificating Elezen herself she had ignored. The fliers had been read a dozen times over. The entire order was aware by now of what was happening. What she was more interested in were the people's reactions, as well as those of the Brass Blades. She guessed that it would not be soon (and perhaps even hoped) before someone would be sent to silence this fool. What she herself would do then was yet to be seen.
  2. I knew someone would make this argument, and for the MSQ you are correct. But there are many questlines that fall outside of this progression, such as the Paladin job quests which people -could- do after the MSQ. All of these quests would have to be updated in order to make sense. Even if it's just a dialogue change. But it also would not make sense to keep Jenlyns in the Husting Strip.
  3. Something else to consider: {edit} And now having finished the MSQ myself, I can only re-iterate what I considered above.
  4. Coatleque had not expected anyone else to be aboard. Her past trips had been much quieter than this, so she suddenly wondered just how many people one airship could accommodate below the deck. She certainly was not, as well, prepared for such an outward display of a greeting, or continued recognition. The hand upon her shoulder may have come harder than intended. It could have also been the sudden chill of feeling cold steel through the thin cloth of her dress. Coatleque started in surprise and turned to the Roe with wide eyes. "Oh, um... yes. Do I know you?" She felt herself backing into the side railing wishing desperately that she could fly away herself as the crowd continued to grow.
  5. I don't actually use the gallery myself, so my opinion carries little weight. As far as I'm concerned if it has more features and is just as easy to use there is no reason NOT to change over to it.
  6. Hmm... one of these days Coatleque will need to meet this Tiergan in-game. I don't believe we ever have.
  7. We shall replace the 80 sins of Sasamo with the 90 virtues of Nanamo
  8. Coatleque read down the scroll and picked up the charcoal with weary sigh. She began to write in a flowing and practiced script... "The poor Morbol twitched in it's last moments as it lay there on the ground, and an almost apologetic sounding yet gutteral groan was heard as a single tentacle procured (from somewhere unseen) a half-eaten sweetroll, holding it forth to the princess."
  9. If you ever open slots again, I'd go in for an icon.
  10. True, but it is a very slow day on the forum. And you know we all like to speculate.
  11. Wouldn't mind this myself, please! One Sentence Summary:
  12. I am sure there are some close, personal members of the Order that she DOES trust. They can't all be corrupt.
  13. (( November Update )) Linkshell is still active, of course! (though mostly quiet, I hope to change that) Welcome to everyone who has joined. There has been a recent shift in membership due to some RP events, but the Sultansworn are still undaunted. Relaxing Membership I know I've been a little tight in inviting people since I started this LS. I'm going to relax that restriction. If anyone has a Free Paladin or Sworn IC Character and still wants an invite, send me a tell in-game. My reasoning? All Paladins have technically been through the Sworn's training. As such, they should all have this LS by default.
  14. I am going to bump this thread for any who are interested, or WERE interested in the past with some additional information. In regards to "joining" the Sultansworn: I know a few people had asked me in the past (in-character) about joining the Sworn. I had played this off as not being Crofte's responsibility, but the Captain's. My reasoning was two-fold. First, the whole Trials of the Sworn idea was not mine. As such I did not want to step on someone else's toes or 'take over' their concept without permission. Secondly, from an in-character perspective it really isn't within Coatleque's power to grant or deny membership to the Order. The idea (which may have been lost in translation) was that you should not be coming to her saying "where do I join", but come to her saying "I'm a new initiate, they assigned me to you". Due to on-going player story arcs, the balance of 'command' around those of us who have portrayed Sworn has shifted. As such, Coatleque will be taking a more active role as my time allows between other RP elements, to try and perform actual training of new initiates. Crofte is now in charge of the two 'major' trials of courage and loyalty, and may be taking over the 3rd as well in the future depending on how things play out. I will also think up some 'minor' trials to fill in the gaps as time allows. The Sultansworn Trials: These trials are only meant to be small RP events to add to an initiate's experience. They are in no way supposed to be a pass/fail type of test to 'exclude' someone from the Order. If a person decides to take them as such, that is of course their decision and makes perfect sense to treat them as such depending on how in-depth an RPer you are. There are two ways I will treat new initiates, and this is entirely up to each person. The first option is, of course, that they are a brand new initiate to the order. The second option is that they are already a full member and are undergoing additional trials to become a 'Gallant' of the sworn (elite of the elite as it were). The general consensus is that a normal Sultansworn wears the tabbard as seen by those in the Palace, while the Gallant's wear the AF armor as seen by Jenlyns (and Papashan who wore the AF crown when in uniform). There are also some people who have recently come into the game as either full-fledged Sworn, or as Free Paladins who want to return to the order. This is perfectly acceptable! Again, none of this is supposed to be a 'clique' or special group. These persons can affirm as well that I have read their backgrounds and treated them as such. The whole 'Initiate' status is only for those who chose to go that route in their RP. What about the MSQ?: Until the story progresses further than what was recently revealed, we have to assume everything is business as usual. I do not anticipate too big of a shift, this being an MMO after all, but be prepared for anything. The community as a whole will have to simply address that if/when it happens.
  15. Again, I haven't gotten that far, but I have a strong feeling this will not actually happen even though it was left as a cliffhanger. And here is why:
  16. I would ride a horse if Highlander women had the same side-saddle animation as midlanders. Otherwise, most mounts in this game are butt-ugly, including the horses. They look like bloated walking muscles. If I wanted that I may as well ride around on this guy. LotRO had the best looking horses.
  17. Welcome back! Seems the forum is quiet this morning. I'm sure more people will be up and about within another hour or two. Perhaps I'll see you in-game at some point.
  18. You could go that route, potentially. For a first character, though, I would recommend keeping things simple. Especially if you are new to RP. The more extraordinary you make your character, the more people are going to question him, the more explaining you will have to do up front.
  19. She gave her hand to Aya having seen the offer, and rose with her. As quiet as she could, Coatleque withdrew a few gil from her purse and left them in a neat stack on the table. The pair hurried past the completely oblivious men and stepped back out onto the street. Outsiders would have recoiled from the hot, desert, noon-time sun as they emerged from the shelter of the tea shop, but Coatleque had grown used to it over the few years she lived here. She squinted up at the sky over the city line. At least it was still mostly clear. She took a few steps away from the building before turning to face Aya. "Well, where shall we go next?!"
  20. That's more of an advanced topic. Until you become more comfortable with role-playing in general, you should just know that you cannot kill someone else, and they cannot kill you. It's considered rude to assume that much control over someone elses character. For more advanced RP stories, killing off a character is generally agreed upon by everyone involved as this can be a very dramatic plot hook.
  21. If you click the link at the top of the page to the "WIKI", you can brows player character wiki pages from there. A lot of us have a multitude of information on character backgrounds posted there, as well as current relationships and RP events they have participated in. The server has a continuing story all to it's own that thrives through the community.
