At least this game is playable as is. I hate MMOs that are so convoluted you can't even do basic dungeon runs without a heavily modded UI.

*coughs* I um... I keep those kudos to myself. Besides, that was totally OOC!

Kudos to Nyalie Lihzeh, whom I stood around RPing with for a good two hours last night. Glad to see her back in the city again.

What would you do if you got stuck in Final Fantasy?
Coatleque replied to Vashies Rosada's topic in RP Discussion
Whelp, I'm boned. Guess I'd spend my life as a carpenter or miner. -
Coatleque stood quietly in the training yard, sizing up her opponent. The unfortunate wooden dummy which had born the brunt of her frustrations tonight stood silently leering at her. Some deep gashes were already carved into the sides from some earlier maneuvers. There was a reason she preferred to train alone. Tonight she was trying her best to distract herself. She had stood silently near the bar earlier and heard a long portion of their conversation. She knew the woman saw her as well. The way she just cozied right up to Warren, it was as if she was putting on a show. Specifically trying to drive a wedge between them. Natalie's timing only made things worse. Coatleque couldn't be mad at Mcbeef, though. She had done nothing wrong in this case. But that woman, holding his hand like that. It irked her. Probably more-so when he did nothing to avoid it. She sighed and looked around the yard once more trying to clear her head, to focus on her maneuvers. Torchlight from behind and before her competed in the now chilling breeze to cast long shadows across the path in front of her. Her sword's tip slid across the sand in front of her before she raised it once more parallel to the ground. With a cry she lunged forward once more with a hard feint to the right. Now entirely focused her feint ended with a reverse overhead spin as she unconsciously weaved the aether around her into her own momentum. Circling around the sword met the side of the dummy with a sickening crack followed by splintering wood. She stepped back and wretched her sword from the dummy whose top half was now precariously leaning to the side, having nearly been split in half. "Gods damn it!", she exclaimed as she staggered backwards, trying to catch her breath. "That's coming out of my pay..."

I've tried looking through these logs to pull out RP sessions I forgot to copy. The problem is it's not a "true" chat log. It also logs all combat information as well, so you have to sift through that as well. What happens is, the game logs your entire chat window from login to logout. You can literally scroll all the way back up to the beginning in every window. After something like 1000 lines, it will dump this log to the next available file in that folder, and overwrite its contents (when enough logs are created). If you then log out of the game before the next 1000 line quota is reached, you lose everything from the last dump. So yes it does "log", but not in real time. This made me sadface when I realized I lost half a session.

Missed out and Unsure about how to interact with RPers anymore
Coatleque replied to Aldotsk's topic in RP Discussion
Once you get over that initial shyness, things will start flowing quite regularly. That's what happened to me anyway. As far as Anelia goes as a character, I read her wiki and noticed she's supposed to be a Captain, and so that is how Coatleque treats her. As a superior officer. I see both Anelia and Erik Mynheir as being Crofte's immediate superiors with Jenlyns being over both of them. So don't be afraid to order her around (within reason, of course). -
But for whom? I think in a few days Crofte will be welcoming that axe herself.

Hey, where's Roen's entry anyway?
-
Well, Nero and Coatleque have already met. Probably not enough for him to form an opinion of her yet, but I'm sure they will be working together at some point due to her ties with Roen.

Is being a fighting RPer a turn off to other RPer's?
Coatleque replied to LiveVoltage's topic in RP Discussion
Wow, that's funny. Because I remember someone doing just that very same thing to me in a Char Dev thread about rolling your D&D stats. -
Ugh... couldn't he have at least gotten a tan first?

"Sorry, lady, but I have to eat don't-cha know. I can't just be handing out me goods to everyone for free!" It was clear neither of them were about to budge, so Coatleque sighed and decided to step in. "Alright, here, twenty-five gil but no more!" The man turned back to her with a glint in his eye. He eagerly snatched up the money while thrusting the bottle forward into her hands. "Oi, and here you go, enjoy it!" he blurted as he pushed passed her and disappeared quickly into the crowd. It happened so fast she did not bother to notice which way he headed. Holding up the perfume now for closer inspection it appeared to be nothing more than an old whiskey bottle half-full of some dirty looking fluid. Black specks circled around as she swirled it. "Erm... Aya? I don't think this is perfume..."

If it keeps filling up you may need to make it a "main char" only LS. I know a few people have their alts in as well.

So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?
Coatleque replied to Askier's topic in RP Discussion
Fixed? -
Coatleque had just happened to be heading down the main thoroughfare of Pearl Lane when she heard the commotion down one of the side avenues. Thinking someone was in trouble she took off in that direction. Rounding the corner she stopped in her tracks just in time to see Verad clinging to some poor girl's pants while Natalie was molesting a pudding attached to her head. The Knight slowly backed away with arms raised, making as little noise as possible, and left before anyone would notice her.

The merchant stammered for a moment as if he was caught off guard by the request. "Oh, but you must understand miss, this fragrance is so rare and sought after that I simply couldn't give it away for free. Even to someone so lovely as you. Perhaps I could be persuaded for a mere twenty-five gil?" To this Coatleque scoffed quietly. Not too quietly however as the man snapped his attention back to her. "You may think me bold asking so much for so little. But this bottle itself is worth over two thousand alone! And all I'm asking is the price of a mere cup of ale for the pleasure of wearing this scent o'er the next day n' a half!"
-
She was still looking at one of the rugs as Aya pulled her away back towards the avenue. The merchant's words still in her ears. "See, Aya, not all merchants aim to take advantage of you!" Either she really was that oblivious, or she just did not want to face facts. They had not gone even five paces, and Coatleque was about to ask where they were heading next, when a rather forward man stepped up to them both with a large glass bottle in hand. "Ah, now here are two of Ul'dah's most discerning women, I can tell! Two lovely ladies who care about how others view them. I have here some of the finest perfume in all of Thanalan! Why, I am told even the Sultana herself wears this when 'ere she leaves the palace! Just one little whiff and suitors will be lined up at your door for miles!" She backed up a step in surprise at being so suddenly accosted like this. "O-oh, no no no, I-I am fine as I am thank you, Ser.", she began to reply as she looked to Aya. The merchant's attention seemed to shift between them both.

... I would pay for yet another picture in this case. For science.
