  1. The Highlander inclined her head just so. It had been many years, she thought, since she last saw this particular miqo'te. She was a hard face to forget, however, especially with that mouth on her. Adeya had even had the balls to break her operation back in the day. There was no way she would forget this woman. "Th' usual," was all she replied as she stepped forward. Closer to the miqo'te, to be certain. She was, perhaps, an inch shy of actually brushing her arm, but she merely reached out for her own drink. Naois flashed a smile at the man. "Thanks, love." She stepped back, away from Adeya, and raised her mug of ale. "An' how 'bout yerself, lass? Still a nuisance at th' checkpoin'? Or 'ave ya takin' ta buryin' inta books now?"
  2. There were many things that could be said about Limsa Lominsas bars, but they could hardly be called boring. Sailors and pirates, after all, knew just how to have a good time at any hour of the day. Soft heels clicked against the stone pathway, and Naois' sea-blue eyes took in the city for themselves. It had been many years since she took the chance to properly wander, and as passing Yellowjackets eyed her, she vaguely remembered why. Tales of a formidable pirate crew had begun to travel far and wide among these parts. She wouldn't have it any other way. Naois tipped her head over her shoulder, checking to ensure she wasn't being followed. As dear as her crew was to her, they could certainly be a meddling bunch. She was their Captain, for Lymlean's sake. She could handle herself quite well, thank you very much. With a nod to herself, she faced forward, red-tipped dreadlocks wipping around. Approaching one of Limsa's many bars, she shoved the door open and waltzed right in. It couldn't be called packed, but there was certainly a crowd. A crowd, she decided, that would serve well to keep any prying eyes away. The tanned Highlander's lips stretched into a smile to herself as she made her way to the bar. "Yer finest rum, if ya would, love," she called to the bartender, opting to lean against the counter rather than take a seat for now. She allowed her gaze to wander around the place. Really, however, it was the flash of blue in her vision that caught her eye. And could one blame her for that? Even amongst her crew of scoundrels and rebels, it wasn't a colour she could easily forget. Her eyes narrowed, yet soon enough, her expression twisted into a smirk. "So, even tha' scholarly types like ta unwind in a place like this," she remarked, tapping her chin as she eyed the Miqo'te arcanist.
  3. I actually have a little female Lala (Lalafi Lafi, actually) who can be mischievous herself. Perhaps not in the "steal ALL THE THINGS" kind of way and more in the "mess with people's heads" way, but still. However, she is an alt. So. If you find someone better, by all means, I won't be offended.
  4. Then look no further! I have an alt, and her name is Naois Faller. Highlander, big, tall, much beauty, very crazy. What's her story? She's a member of the Twisted Spines crew, a pirate through-and-through. She raids ships, kills people and loots their corpses, maybe even burns down a few refugee camps while she's there. Where ever she goes, trouble seems to start, and her crew isn't one to snuff, either. Doesn't care about legalities, and she's got more than a few screws loose. She'll kill to get what she wants, and she's got some twisted logic. She's practically becoming famous for it! Well. That last part may not exactly be true... yet. Which is where you, my curious forum, come in. I'm throwing her up and out there to be a villain for anything. Maybe she's someone you've had the misfortune of meeting? Maybe she screwed your lover? Maybe she just looked at you funny? Whatever the reason, Naois can your very own antagonist! For the low, low price of $19.99! Allow me to be clear, however: I am not interested in becoming some big, drastically evil villain for the sole person of your character becoming the hero. She's already part of one such plot. tl;dr, and straight to the point: You want a crazy pirate lady? I've got one. Toss me a PM over the forum if you're interested, or leave a comment, or... even just ignore me. Balmung server only, I'm afraid. I just can't seem to get onto Gilgamesh. ;w;
  5. I MAY make an alt, just to fudge around with the Character Creation. >_> But for the most part, K'washi will probably see all the Au Ra and latch on to the fact that they have tails like he has a tail and he'll have a lot of fun observing that and simply making friends.
  6. While I love all the responses, exactly one of my three questions have been answered. Or maybe they'll all been answered: there simply aren't many. A rarity, is what I'm sensing. Though judging BY the responses, I've also worded my first post terribly. For that, I'm gonna apologize. K'washi isn't at all defined by his muteness. In fact, most people don't even know he's mute until they realize he's been quiet for an awkwardly large amount of time upon first meeting him. I don't know if he's cliche, but he's not shy. Just... well, an awkward teenager who's learning (a bit late in the game) what literacy and hormones are, along with how to communicate without sound. Unrelated: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, AEYLIS! <3! Tiergan, if you ever want to RP, hit me up. I'm sure it'll be a blast!
  7. This is pretty much how K'washi used to communicate as well. He's slowly gone from illiterate to semi-literate, however, and has decided grammar is the bane of his existence. It's been a productive 5 months, to say the least. Also, Furious Storm sounds like an incredibly familiar name. >_>
  8. ... That poor Jedi. As for the bolded part, that's pretty much a given. Character's already made n' such, and he's recognized at the Grindstone now (I think? They know his name, at least!). It was rough at first, but the only instance where his lack of speech has been an issue is when it rained right as he was about to introduce himself. He couldn't very well risk his precious notebook!
  9. First of all, HIIII, I'm entirely new to the forum and I am totally enjoying reading it all and seeing so many different peoples' opinions on things. Second, mutes! They're there, they're quiet, and... well, y'know. I come from an MMO (GW2) where mutes were actually somewhat common, but here in FFXIV, I've only ever really met one! So that leads me to wonder... where are they? There's a whole host of expressive emotes (certainly a crap load more than GW2, and I love them all), so why wouldn't people jump on that? Or am I just not looking in the right places? Edit - I just realized how somewhat punny (or ironic?) my title might be. NO MATTER.
  10. yes and no, the thaumaturgy story line has made it clear that there are those whose personal aether simply isn't strong enough to either get a result or they get a result but at great physical cost to themselves, up to and including death, despite how much they practice. As to the other two, there isn't really anything else that shows a negative, or inability to study it. Though I guess a natural predisposition to be able to gauge whether the elementals will help you with Conjury, and generally being smart (mathematically so) would be a prerequisite for Arcanima(sp?) Haha. Y'know, I just learned that through the Thaumaturge storyline. owo;; But thank you for the additional information! I do love learning more about the FFXIV world.
  11. K'washi has a few. Once upon a time, when he was young and stupid, he got lost in the Sagolii Desert and got attacked by a Sundrake. It cut rather deep and is the reason he's mute. He would have died if he hadn't been found by some of the Drake-Tribe Miqos. He has a scar across his throat because of it. He also has a more recent pair that are close. Two, somewhat small, scars on his left side. One is from a rather nasty stabbing incident, where an old enemy had planned on leaving him to bleed out (loljoke'sonthem). The other is from an arrow, actually, that hit him in the Grindstone. Aaand that's about it so far!
  12. I think K'washi is technically an ordinary rogue? He doesn't use aether because he was never taught how to use it properly. He may accidentally use it in life-or-death situations, but because he just doesn't know, he... well. Doesn't. Alex, on the other hand, is practically a pro. He's learned how to use aether since the day he was deemed old enough. He focuses more on protection than anything (Scholar bubble ftw), but if he's given a sword, he'll absolutely use the aether around him to conjure up some elemental help. >> From my understanding, aether-use is a learned skill, with Adventurers simply being the most proficient it for obvious reasons (stronger, better, faster, smarter). I haven't really... found evidence to the contrary.
  13. Oh, sweet! Replies! Thank you both for the responses, and I understand. And I even learned a bit more about Miqo'te lore! Wasn't aware that different tribes had different branches. c: In fact, that gives me ideas now. I may very well end up making up my own branch. I'd love for a chance to talk more in detail about it with you, Naunet, since you are the Founder. Maybe over /tell, linkshells, or even just a private message... ? (Do private messages exist on FFXIV-RP?)
  14. Alright! So, when making my now-main, K'washi, I decided that... well, since there was a Wiki for the Hipparion (K) Clan of Miqo'te, I may as well have some fun with the player-established lore! But my first couple of questions becomes this, and I'm really only looking for opinions here: - Would it have mattered if I had chosen to ignore that? Why or why not? - Is editing that particular Wiki in any way, shape, or form taboo? No right/wrong answers here (except the second one, really). Since his past isn't public knowledge (yet), I can still fudge around if I desperately need to. And I guess, out of my own curiousity, is there any ACTIVE Hipparion Club Members floating around? And if so, which server?
  15. I used Alex for this. Don't think I could do well with K'washi.
  16. Well, hey there. I guess you could call me new to the FFXIV community. I've been playing for about a month now as a test, and I'm just in love with the RP community. There's so many of you just... there! This is only the second MMO I've ever roleplayed in, but I'm definitely eager. I've got three characters already? Alex Kiroi (the main), K'washi Amada (the second main), and Lalafi Lafi (the only female). Hyur Midlander, Seeker Miqo'te, and Duneseeker Lalafell. Still working on the lore part of things. So far the most interesting thing is I've learned K'washi accidentally looks like another (probably prominent?) member of the community. Not sure how avoidable that is, but if that's an issue (along with tribe name n' such), I totally understand. Also everyone has a CHARACTER WIKI, that got me all excited. I'm not at all new to RP. I've been roleplaying for about, uh... 9 years now? While keeping it short, I started off on forums (still in contact with great friends). I've run at least three of those. Then I gravitated toward RP in MMOs about 2 years ago in GW2 (and ended up as one of the leaders of one of the oldest guilds on the RP server over there). I've got at least two friends who are joining me in XIV. I'm looking forward to getting more active in the RP community once my nerves have settled down. owo I am also apparently a cactus, pfft.
