  1. You are amazing, thank you so so much! <3 Hopefully once I've gotten into the swing of things I'll be able to help out, too.
  2. Out of curiosity, I don't suppose any of this burgeoning rp in Limsa might spill over into the forum here? I'd love love love to participate but I'm just getting into the swing of things and I don't think I'd be much use in-game (be starting from a level 1, haha). But I am a very experienced forum rper and I could definitely participate in forum rp!! I was thinking Zhavi will likely be a streetrat of sorts, a grunt or some shifty scrag who keeps t'backroom dealin's, iff'n y'get me drift. I always liked criminal/poorfolk rp. But um, yeah, if that's not where you want the focus to go I totally understand!
  3. Anthropology? YES! Fistbumps from a fellow anth major, stand tall against the engi/sci majors who look down upon us!
  4. Man, so way back when I joined an earlier incarnation of this site -- ffxiv was in its first beta. I had actually started rping here, but then real life reared its ugly head and I backed out (played beta but never bought the game). But then recently a friend encouraged me to start playing, and man have things changed in a wonderful way! (Also if anyone remembers brisia/vijako . . . >> hit me up! though holy crap looking back at it my writing was full of waytoomany adjectives) I'm a fairly active forum rper, having first started rping on a text based game awhile ago and not really stopping since then. I don't rp as much within mmos, but I always found it added an extra layer to my enjoyment when I joined in -- biggest issue being that I tend to gravitate towards semi-hardcore raiding, and there are very, very few rp guilds that cater to that. (or at least, not ones that needed my class/role or that I was able to find in the games I played!) Right now I'm doing full time work and full time school, and I am not enough of a wizard to fit raiding into that, or spend enough time in game to really contribute to ongoing rp -- but what I CAN do is immerse myself in the forum rp here and spend time enjoying all of your wonderful discussions and descriptions of stuff going on in game! Also, super super stoked to see that this site is FLOURISHING like crazy! You guys who run it and maintain it are amazing, alongside the members who keep the content flowing.
  5. Tonight the dog I grew up with died. I'm pulling out of this thread. Between the baby and the dog, and my fiance's dad almost dying about a month ago (at least he's recovering nicely, though with a poo bag attached to his colon) I am just not in the headspace for rp. I'm sorry, guys. Feel free to continue, or whatever you want. Auto Vijako if you want. Criminy, life. WTF. Christ.
  6. Good god I swear my life isn't always this hectic, and I post on time. >< Buuuut, I'm a new auntie! First time for me. My sister went into labor tuesday night and had a lovely 30 hours of labor (the first 20 without any sort of pain meds, she was a total champ). Baby was born this morning at 1:05. Then there was a complication with baby's lungs, had a couple of holes in them. They're treating her with 100% oxygen and it seems to be helping her lungs heal. But for the meantime I am not in the frame of mind to post (I'm off to bed after I tell all my rp thread partners what's up ), and I won't be probably until tuesday or wednesday. Gonna be helping my sister and such and then spending a lot of time with little miss Kalli once she is (hopefully) released. So if someone wants to auto Vijako or whatnot, please do. I feel horrible for doing this to you guys twice. And, whether you want them or not, expect pictures once I get all my shit together and such. <3333333333333s :D:D Yay baby!
  7. I could be an extra! I seriously <3 machinima.
  8. Woop woop, just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten, as I'd seen a few other posts for other threads. >> I look forward to it!
  9. Daiiiishiii, we need a post from you, man!
  10. My most recent can't-stop-listening-over-and-over, though I'm sure it will be replaced soon.
  11. That was a neat little video. Thanks for sharing!
  12. Vijako had twisted at Fejar's words, without answering, to push into the tavern and see for herself, but her ears went flat as she heard a particularly interesting word. Fikker. She looked back at Fejar as if to mark him with her eyes, and then she penetrated deeper into the building, skirting around the edges of the crowd to get a better look at the man who might as well have been soapboxing. The offer interested her, even if she was already spoken for in raw, cold gil. She turned back to Fejar and motioned for him to come closer to her. It paid to know the currents that flowed through the city, and something as public as this would have quite the effect come sundown. She'd mutter to him, if he came near: "If gil's the heart o' this city, this here's the bones. Look well. Listen good." Several men and women called out gruff and shrill alike their qualifications, not without their own seedy suggestions and catcalls. It was chaotic, but not loud. Vijako waited to see how the man would treat these street scum, what he would say to them next.
  13. I went back and reread your post and I thought to myself 'wow, reading comprehension FAILURE.'
  14. edit -hurpdurp I can't rea d Eva's words. /fail All aside, I like where this is going.

  16. I have 4 weapon skills on gladiator now and I LOVE the combat system <3 Once you are more comfortable and aware of how often things like guard stay up for you can get in a really nice rhythm where you're just pushing one button after the next wailing on things. It's great. ^^ Without a conjurer over 10 though, it's either stick by the aetheryte or spend most of my time spamming spirit dart. . .spirit dart. . .spirit dart. . .spirit dart. . . ;_; Once I get OVER 10 (at 14 or so, I think) I will have two buttons! Spirit dart and a TP move! . . .I can't help but feel like I have to hoard mana for emergencies, never to be used unless my mana regen cd is up.
  17. Wow, that is a little creepy. You should have SE to hire you for their events, and cosplay for them! Yeah buddy!
  18. pfff, we had to set up the players and scenario! In any case, they're now at the entrance of the tavern as of the end of my post.
  19. I rage at the news, period. Also, <3 this thread. The cute pictures were what made it, followed by the erp humor.
  20. The evolution of this site continues to astound me in a very pleasant way. Thanks for the hard work, all who are involved, and I look forward to the future.
  21. Having a high score also doesn't mean your character can't be interesting or played properly, just as having a low score doesn't keep your character from being irritating or hard to rp with. That test.... Castiel wins again with moderation! Going back a few pages, I want to see someone with trample scars and an embarrassing story about them, who then proceeds to lie his or her arse off with tales of glory about how they were received. Hee. Or just someone with scars that are disfiguring in some way. Oof, those are hard. I just got done reading Best Served Cold by joe (I think) Abercrombie. I was wincing the whole way through with the tactful reminders of how physically screwed up the main is. But all the same, I lapped that shiz right up. Mm, mm, good.
  22. I actually thought the combat system isn't active enough. The fewer buttons I have to press in a five second period, the less happy I am. Now if only I could get a freaking toon over 10 so I could give SE more valuable (hahahahahahaha) opinion on that, I would be most happy.
  23. They moved off, with Viko safe in the moment within the cocoon the cloak formed over her, though not immune entirely to the stares of others. For that she had Fejar before her, and that was what left her smug in her own knowledge of invisibility to most, if not all. He led her, and she coldly thought over the options she had. No one really, truly liked mercenaries. They were a necessity to the machinations of war, a safeguard and a commodity like any other traded good. They were regarded with the edged caution given any wild beast collared and leashed, with the notion that at any moment a lunge and snap might take off fingers, or hand, or worse. Mercenaries were never trusted. Liars, cheats, thieves, badly mannered and vicious. That was the most of the sum, and Vijako had never denied any of the accusations levied at her. The only one she really ever did deny was the crime of rape; but then again she'd defaced and looted and all the rest without a thought for honor or justice. Selling services paid. Any whore or drug dealer could tell you that, and without the gilt veneer of civility to soften the truth of the matter. Vijako had learned early on from the death of a sodden drunk that death beget money, and money beget a happier life. No one could tell her otherwise. But sell that death to the right or wrong person, and you courted their enemies. And when you did that, the whole sum of the mess grew right complicated, until one day you face someone's boot from the wrong direction, descending to crush you unless you had enough left to move out of the way. And yet, for the promise of cheesy wealth, Vijako wouldn't move out of the way. It was the same as any lousy addiction, not that she'd admit to it even in her most private thoughts, to be roomed with the same thoughts about how much money she would wind up spending on drugs and booze and easy men. It was jolting when the sign of the Drowning Wench creaked down at her, and she blinked at Fejar in sudden realization of him. She might have been accosted and likely she would not have seen it coming, the whole way to the tavern. She screwed up her mouth and spat near the doorjamb. "Well lamb, I've business t'see." Her fingers fumbled over the place where her coin and last few snatches of maneflower had once rested. She instead settled her hand on her hip. She eyed him. "Could use a smart mind n' a shut mouth -- if you've th' will t' see me safe." She cocked an arrogant smile at him. She could use a patsy, all right, and a right innocent fall boy to take her share of the hits when they came.
