Hello everyone.I'm sure many of you remember me, even if you think you haven't. Once upon a time I made a point of playing NPCs, with 7 alts and the willingness to be whatever was needed, life was good to me. Tl;Dr Roleplayer offering NPC servicesThis was on Balmung. Then school and life happened, and things hadn't calmed down for a quite a bit. but now it's finally getting there.About me:I play NPCs, and really enjoy it. I don't mind my characters being killed if needed for plot, because that's how it works sometimes. I've done one shot adventures where I've been a corrupt officer arresting a FC member and I've done months long stories where I just kept appearing. I've been a streetear, I've been a scientiest, and I've enjoyed them all.On my main I've made it a point to do every quest, peruse every lore book, and stay on top of the forums of what's decided.Major roles I've playedA would a be assassin who incited an FC war (with full communication with both FC leaders about what they wanted (because they wanted the war))A spy waitress who worked in a rival bar for months on end.An Uld'ahn streetear who just sat in the Quicksands and traded secrets he learned. An Ishgardian knight bent on taking down some heretics (especially proud of this one tbh)A pet merchant. (was short and silly but fun)Once upon a time I charged gil for my services, but quite frankly I don't need gil, and I've been gone too long so I don't feel I deserve it anyway, besides I don't have the variety of alts at my disposal at the moment anyway. My rules.I don't attack with the intent to injure or kill someone without their consent. Usually this comes as a whisper first.I don't give out any information about who hired me OoC. ICly...well, depends on who hired me IClyWe make a contract of what you want to see happen first after that, it's free form for me.I don't run the story arch if that's where it's going. If this sounds like something interesting you or your FC needs please message me here and we'll talk. I've still got some characters on Balmung, but my time and energy is being spent on Mateus.Thank you all, and happy hunting.

Almost forgot there is a cutscene after you get all the weapons that's actually hysterical. Luckily for those who don't want to grind, there's youtube.

Here's the regular mount and here's the fancy go go mount
-
So can confirm as I now have it, there is a second mount for getting all the weapons. Its the same as the first mount except it glows a little more, is blue tinted rather than red, and has the red two tailed cat clinging to the side.

Yep. totally choosing most of the answers. All that I selected are fun in their own rights, in different ways. And being the NPC in them really lets you see that :3.

Return of the NPC. (And the start of a story)
That_NPC replied to That_NPC's topic in Chronicled Connections
Don't worry, starting with just my FC first, but since I'm trying to create an event that's happening in the world, its always nice to have people outside the FC knowing. For example, when you need to talk to a flames officer, its one thing to talk to another NPC run by the storyteller, another to talk to another player who's running a flames officer. -

Good point, guess I should clear this up. I am more than willing (will even enjoy) running different potentially competing groups. That being said, if FC's (or alternative groups of people) want to take this and run with it, all I ask is to be in contact with the person organizing it so we can keep all of the groups up to date in events. Shortly put, yes, but am not forcing myself as lead to all of them. -
And you can always keep an eye on people running stories, Rp in the forum itself is nice, and there are almost always people who post the footnotes of what happens in game RP here so people can join in.

Return of the NPC. (And the start of a story)
That_NPC replied to That_NPC's topic in Chronicled Connections
So people asked for a small synopsis, going to hide it in spoilers so read at your own peril. Some of you may remember this story being planted near a year ago. Well, it never got fully "taken care of" so its still around. -

IGNORE ME! I derped, continue on to next reply -
So after a long time gone (IRL stuff coupled with getting everything to 60), finally back to putting a focus on RP. A few changes this time! I'm actually connected to an FC this time, (Shameless plug some other time maybe) so rather than playing NPCs for anyone and everyone, I will be writing more specific story settings. That being said, I will still be the "NPCs" of the story, and these NPCs still exist in the world outside of the FC, so for the most part, these stories are free to the public, with different paths being acceptable to take care of them. First one is about to come down, keywords are Smuggling, Garlean, and Alchemy. If anyone is interested in hearing about this, and maybe being involved send me a PM or whisper me in game as Whispering Storm. Even if its just your character knows this is a thing going on, it would be nice. (Don't want to say too much though on the case of people wanting to be involved.)

So primarily a "bad guy" player here and it really boils down to three sets 1) The criminal character. This is where you OoC know your character is a bad guy. But they are a full character, and therefore have reasons to believe that they are not a bad guy. For example "Everyone works for their money, my thievery is no different. If I can take their money without getting caught, then I earned it." This seems to be what most people are trying to do. The important part is that ICly they are not a bad guy in their own eyes. So no real point in telling people OoCly that your character is a criminal. 2) The Story Villain. these characters are a lot of fun to be but they exist only in their contained bubble. You don't expect kefka to just waltz into the quicksand without causing a problem. And since everyone else's RP may not recognize you as a villain, it makes playing a story villain very contained. Pros: More freedom to be a villain, power levels vary on story cons: Less RP variability. 3) The goon. The rando bad guy that exists for that scene. The bandit who stops the caravan, the corrupt brass blade hassling merchants. Most of the time they stay in this category because the either die, or get turned in to the authorities and then its done. Every now and then they'll move to group 2. But the important part with the goon is that no one cares where their parents are from unless it matters right now in the scene. So they're easier to make and play because of the (seemingly) 2 dimensional aspect.

Hey artistic types. I'm looking to find a poster quality image for myself and the way I RP. Not exactly sure what I'm looking for besides a few details. -Character taking off a mask while grinning. just a face mask, so more phantom of the opera, just coming off the face type. - a bunch of different personas in the background, but floating as card images, or in glass orbs, or something like that not sure. - relatively fancy clothes for the actual person, the rest of them are going to be simple merc stuff, or bartender stuff, simpler designs. Don't want to put too many details down because I trust the artist more than myself usually.

Three days later, a very officialy looking Seeker male scans the bulletin board, after finding the last notice posted, he unfolds the papers he had been carrying with and tacks it onto the board, mostly covering the other. To Adventurers, bounty hunters, and the like. A woman named N'Taali was murdered today upon her walk home from the market. While no valuables were taken, her corpse was found with multiple stab wounds. Any information leading to the arrest of the murderer will be rewarded.

The differences between Tabletop and Mmo don't seem that large, but the flavor of it changes dramatically. For example you can't interrupt people. Not really anyway, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but it really is. That being said, the laid back nature is amazing. Welcome to the game. Welcome to a new kind of RP.

Posted early one morning by a very morose looking Hyur man without a word. Placed off to the side, in a attempt to not cover up any one else's bulletins and maybe even stay around for a bit. The note itself is hand written, in a messy but legible hand. In loveing memory of Coralee Snow. Tooken from us by the violens and greed of streets. A mother, a daghter, and a freind to many. She will be missed. Underneath the notice is a clay, cracked vase of yellow daisies.

"Witty" characters, can they be roleplayed by the dumb?
That_NPC replied to LadyRochester's topic in RP Discussion
Have to add a disclaimer to my bit about techincal knowledge. For example, I wanted to play someone who smithed actual materia powder into the weapons itself, in order to make them that much better right from the get go. At first I was content with this answer, but then realized that just throwing powder into the mix might not be a good idea, so research ensued. So if your crafting is actually a story element, techincal knowledge is on a "as needed" basis. But if its not, then you can easily get away with "I do the thing" -
"Witty" characters, can they be roleplayed by the dumb?
That_NPC replied to LadyRochester's topic in RP Discussion
If you play a techinical genius in a subject you know nothing about, just be prepared to learn when it matters. If you play a "I can figure out anything genius" .... yeah no. If you can do it without metagaming, you'll be the first I've ever seen As for death note, that end game was seriously just the biggest godmodding off it seriously boiled down to "well even though you do all of this to stop this from happening, I'm just so good at it I win." So I feel like that's a bad example. Star Trek though, did a great job by comparing everything to a much simpler analogy. -
There is no calendar. It's a scam to get pictures of scantily clad miqo men. And non miqo men. /approves. Son of a.....
