  1. clio's that badass. *squees and opens the stream* x3
  2. there's always the soulsuckingly painful hells ridden fun system of trying to color your chocobo if you haven't already tried. :3
  3. i'd never do you like that warren. x3 but your point is valid; i've seen this happen a fair amout of times with either an in game currency of various persuasions, cash via paypal or even promises of art trades "i'll draw x for you if you draw xy for me" it sucks but there's not much you can do if that person simply never returns to the place they arranged the order.
  4. "I'm still figuring on a time and location as of late. Granted it seems that I announce these things a bit rushed; it actually does take some time on my end to figure them out." Chuckling softly with her words. This was nice; the little bit of placid conversation was a needed change compared to her usual miniature companion's booming torrents of self servicing praises. Brows knitting slightly, she shook her head at the thought and drew a few heavy lines on the paper; striking her notes and starting over with slightly different ones. "Well personally I enjoyed the ale but as requested; I'll change the subject...." Trailing off, Cliodhna looked up at the dispute from the bar. Being part of the nationality in question herself; she had been half listening to their quickly heating argument but had felt no desire to comment. Things from her perspective would undoubtedly be considered skewed and that was something Cliodhna would rather not get into anyway. However, the snapping of the wineglass and the placement of....the curious card was strange enough to make Cliodhna twist around in her chair and openly look, hands grabbing the top of the back to her now tilting chair as she leaned over to get a clearer view; her book left open on the table showing a half formed drawing of what looked like various parts with rather delicate inner workings. Some could be crafted by a blacksmith for sure but others would require the more detailed touch, a goldsmith perhaps? Scattered across the page were various notations on sizes, weight, strength requirements and even suggestions on which metals would be preferred over others. Reasons for this were not stated save for one small comment; "Needs Garlean steel for proper conducting" As quickly as it flared up, it seemed to settle. Slightly disappointed, Cliodhna turned around back to her table companion. "Hmm....Thought things were about to get fun for a moment."
  5. My thoughts go kind of like this: "They came for the bots, and I wasn't a bot... but it didn't matter, because the bots are still here." "They came to open up the server restrictions, and... well, no, they didn't, not in the slightest." "They came for the Art-for-Gil set, and... WTF, THIS one they're going to enforce?" exactly bots are still out there mining shards like crazy, it's near impossible for new people to get an account on our server (unless you know, you wanna stay up till 4am .__. ) and i STILL get at least four random tells for bot sellers >| i posted that story about the donation thread because in the end; i had gotten so much from people, i was able to afford not only the item i had been chasing after (for months) but got another one that was high up on my wishlist. i was also able to pay it forward by donating extra i had and wasn't in need of to others and my friend list had easily gained 20 people because in case ANYONE has failed to see this; i chatter at people excessively and instead of running off giving me a crazy look, some people stuck around and made friends with me. so in a whole it made me feel more connected to the people there and made logging in that more enjoyable because there was always someone on fun to talk to while doing stuff in game. (also as seen; my art skills improved o3o)
  6. you know on another site that had an in game currency; i was running a donation thread trying to obtain a higher priced item that i had no hopes to afford. around the same time i had gotten my tablet, so the logical thing for me to do in order to get practice in and give thanks to my donors (ones that gave "sizable donations") was to do a quick drawing for them after i had gotten the donation. sometimes they gave me other items to sell or it was the currency outright and even though it was stated plainly on my thread; a lot were still surprised when a drawing from me would pop up in their inbox a few days (or a week) later. it works because i wasn't expecting the donation and they weren't expecting the art (after getting said donation i would just have a habit of asking about their character's personality and what outfit they favored...you know, cause i'm curious. .---.) not exactly trying to get around things or anything; it's just a shame even something like this could be flagged because to me that's kinda a "community kindness" killer.
  7. hmm...seems i'll have to go that route if i want to sell art, tho i'll be back to square one with the pricing issue again
  8. from the sounds of this; it's being "clarified" on all ffxiv forum sites. i'd rather not try my chances selling for gil on another site and have issues from it. tho there was also mention that art for cash was still okay, correct? *ponders*
  9. buummmer, i was really wanting to order more couple art and i'd much rather use gil than cash. >n< then again....there's nothing against trading skills is there? perhaps i can convince some people to draw my stuff if i draw for them o3o
  10. well in light of the recent "banning art for gil" thread; i guess i won't be offering to take on orders.
  11. "This book as been with me a fair amount of time and my creations are known to take a more tangable form than song." She replied, fingers flipping tracing over the pages biefly. "I don't wear that toolbelt you've seen me with just for fashion's sake." Oh yes, I am well aware how the correct partner can make one feel rejuvinated, in one form or another." Smirking slightly at Nathan's play of wording. Raking a free hand thorugh her hair; she stretched, hands moving to the small of her back to give light pressure on the muscles there before giving a quick tilt of her head to crack her neck as well. "That's the intention. Just something a little extra to keep the spectators interested aside from seeing who looses their sense....or lunch, first. And making a game of it could prove to be further entertainment." Once again picking up the large ale mug; she held it braced between her hands in almost a childish manner versus grabbing the handle. She regarded his not so subtle hinting with a soft curve of her lips. "For one, I'd like to think that if it ever occurred, the offer would be hard pressed to ignore, regardless of sobriety levels," She paused to take a long pull from the mug. "But that's just my own over inflated self esteem talking, presently I am very content with the current state of my love life, and more so with my partner's nightly performance, as we seem to be labeling it." Her tone taking on a slightly lower, more sultry note that had been absent before. Holding his gaze without the slightest hint of discomfort in response, she set the mug with only a third of the ale left back onto the table; fingers still curled around it. "You emulate as best you can, I suppose." Almost as quickly as it arrived, the lower tone was gone and replaced once more with her normal one used in more wider range of conversations. Chuckling again, Cliodhna shook her head, reaching up only to tuck an unruly lock of hair back into place before continuing. "But the effort to be ever respectful is noted and appreciated." Letting Nathan break eye contact, she once more returned her own gaze to the papers on the table. Pencil sashaying across the paper as the sketch became slowly more detailed with her movements.
  12. "This?" She asked, fingers lightly ruffling the shelf of bound papers. "This is an extension of my mind and creativity. I'm sure you have a similar book where you keep scraps of poems and sayings later turned to song." Cliodhna let the statement hang a moment knowing it wasn't the direct answer that was desired. "Though on occasion; it has been known to help bring monsters to life." Adding the comment with a light smirk. "Really? You had energy to carry out one of your messages after all that drinking? I am impressed!" She exclaimed, giggling. "As I remember; you fell onto the floor a few times before you made it up the stairs." "More along the lines, I think it would be a little extra bit of fun for the ones that decide to just stay to watch as others attempt to prove who has the strongest liver." Turning back to her work; she added a few more heavier lines along with an arrow pointed at one corner with a scripted note next to it. "However, given this is how you buy your bread so to speak; I don't expect you to perform for free unless the mood took you, hence the offer of payment as a way to persuade at least one drunken performance from you."
  13. "True enough on both accounts," Cliodhna agreed with a light nod. "Yes, work." She replied simply as he curiously looked at her book from across the way. "This is really the only part of my work that's conveniently travel friendly and I've been prodded more than once that I need to leave my workshop, so...here I am." Replying with a smirk and gesturing at the table vaguely with her pencil. Placing her elbow on the table, Cliodhna let her chin rest in her upturned hand; fingernails skirting along her bottom lip. "Another good point; I wasn't drinking it in quite the quick succession as I was...encouraging others to." Her words accompanied with a soft chuckle emitting from her throat. Following suit; she took another pull from her own mug; pencil still laced between her fingers as she held the drink. "I saw you were being looked after as you left; same girl you were chatting with before the final round?" Tone implying mild curiosity on the subject. Placing pencil to paper once more, Cliodha scratched out a few rough lines as she spoke, though the conversation was slightly distracting; ti was a nice change of pace. "I'm sure you will eventually, until then; I'll be more than happy to let you drink yourself silly as you try." Pausing as a thought drifted across her mind; Cliodhna looked up, mischievous grin on her features. "I should pay you just to see how well you perform on that lute while heavily intoxicated, that would be some fun side entertainment in any case." Taken with the idea, she continued. "Who knows? We might be able to get some of the others to join in on the fun and accompany you."
  14. Chuckling, she shook her head. "I doubted that you would, but still it's nice to keep the impression of politeness and ask anyway." Tilting her head, she regarded Nathan with a relaxed manner, taking her attention away from her work for the moment. She did originally come here for a break after all. Her free hand reached across the table and gratefully accepted the offered ale; long fingers curling around the handle, bringing the rim of the mug to her dark tinted lips before taking a drink and replacing it on the table. Cliodhna gave another partly suppressed laugh at the gourd free promise. "I had some and didn't think it was that bad..." She paused, remembering the end of that night. "Than again, you should just be thrilled you were able to keep it down.....one of the the other girls ended up getting sick all over the floor by the end of the night." Cliodhna laughed at the memory. "Poor thing was so overworked by it I had to carry her upstairs and she spent the night on the Moogle's couch."
  15. Giving the heavy, wooden door a shove with her bare shoulder and leaving just enough space to scoot through; Cliodhna entered the Quicksand. In her arms was a rather large, leather-bound book. Blinking a few times; she let her dark jade colored eyes adjust to the lights as she waved her way through the tables. At first intent on a empty one but after a moment, she picked up the plucking of guitar strings. Catching a half smile, she turned and made her way over to the bard's table. Dropping the heavy book with a loud thunk, she looked at the easily recognized hat obscuring it's owner's features. "Care if I take up some space, or are you waiting for someone?" Her tone lightly playful but not really leaving room to answer "no" as Cliodhna eased into a chair across from him. Fingers already grabbing the pencil behind her ear as she flipped open the book to a scribbled mess of notes, numbers and minute sized drawings; fully intent on getting back to work.
  16. Well, since I work retail, my schedule is kind of all over the board. Last Sunday was a 5-11 pm shift, this Sunday is 2:30-11 pm shift, and I don't have any idea what next Sunday is going to be. It's tricky since I need about 2 weeks notice to get any kind of change in on the upcoming schedule. I can push it to the week before but I most likely might not get that evening off, depending on how many of put in the day/evening off before me. oohhhhh retail is stingy with giving sundays off >.>;;; hmm....i can try to figure out the schedule quick(er) to hopefully give you time to plan around it and possibly request the day off if need be. i just tend to give it some time because it's not clear on my end till it gets a little closer to when the actual date is.
  17. aww hope it passed quickly, being sick sucks >| general update: added more names to the list. :3
  18. for reals??? thinking about it is good!!!
  19. trick out a mammot. .__. steiner is clio's ic buddy and he's a mammot that's basically been "refurbished" with a vanguard model toy, thus giving him "NEW LIFE WITH A WONDROUS FORM OF EXISTENCE, BESTOWED UPON HIM BY HIS BENEVOLENT MISTRESS WHO SAW HIS SHATTERED AND BROKEN HUSK OF A BODY AND RECOGNIZED HIS INNER GLORY, THUS REALIZING THAT HE, STEINER, WAS THE ONLY ONE WORTHY OF SUCH HONOR AND TRIBUTE!" according to him....as you can see; he has quite the personality. in any case; with all the "wind up" minions; i don't see why you can't apply the same logic and "frankenstein" the two together, as you put it ;3
