  7. Sorora Everen was once a traveling fortune teller, and now heads an Academy and Trade company. She's free spirited, fun loving and likes to go on adventures. ((I am looking to make more RP connections/friends to get involved in stories, plots, or just general hanging out! My work schedule sometimes makes it hard for me to take the time in game to go out and find random RP! I am usually around every Tuesday all day, every other weekend all weekend and all other days of the week from about 3pm EST until about 10 or 11pm EST))

  13. I've decided to take the plunge and try my hand at running a Free Company. The concept for this one is a trade school. I have plans for it to have different divisions (like a school of the arts, a school of trade and textile, another for various fight styles.) That being said, I need a few people to help me found it so that I could get it on it's feet! There are lots of event ideas I have for it as well, I just need a small group to help me and pitch ideas to! If you're interested, you may contact me in game on Sorora Everen or you can shoot me a message here! Should I be in a duty, you can also find me on skype: elektrolivia
  14. I think the problems to the server issue is a mix of everything involved. On one hand, you have people who leave themselves AFK'd for long periods of time, for whatever reason it is they feel the need to remain logged in even after they've gone off to do other things. One the other hand, you have a sever that just has a lot of people on it. It's been in my experience with just about every other game that I've played, heavy populated servers are just difficult to get on, even if at all. More server space costs money, too. It's not just something that they can click a button for and make happen. It could be that they are perhaps working on a fix and have been really hush about it. You never know! But it also has to be a smart decision on their end to expand the server sizes. They'll have to do it for all of their servers. It ends up being a wasted effort (and money) once population dies down a bit. You kind of have to look at it from their perspective. On their end there are lots of other servers that are unoccupied/doesn't have a problem with capacity. With that being said, there are also players who have alts that they don't play as well. Those also take up server space. And with the new patch already here and a patch and an expansion on the near horizon, there are just going to be more people logged in. I think it's a shame that new players can't get onto Balmung to be on the server that they want for RP, but there isn't much you can do about a heavily populated server, unless SE decides that it is something they can fix. Another part of the problem, that is since it's not a dedicated server AND it's one of the legacy servers, you have both masses of RPers and masses of Non RPers on the same server. The best solution for now is to just be patient. It's frustrating, yes. It took me about a week to get on Balmung when I first came to FFXIV back in August. It'll just probably be less do-able during patch/expansion release. Another quick edit: I want our community to get larger and I want other RPers to be able to join us too!
  15. I'm on skype as elektrolivia should anyone wish to contact me, too! ^^
  16. "You are running out of distractions..." The whisper rang out in the dead of night, enough to stir Coraliza from what was already restless sleep. Startled, she sat up in bed to peek out from behind violet locks that clung to damp skin. The room was empty, cold and silent aside from the racing of her own heart. Trembling hands tugged her free from the blanket as she slipped out of bed to carry herself toward her living area. Nothing, empty. Coraliza drew a deep breath before she found a match to light the fire in her fireplace. The crackling of the wood was a sound she was all too familiar with, both past and present. "You helped, you know..." It rang out once again, a whisper that had visited her more frequently as the time went on. Coraliza could still feel the chill of the room, despite how close she had been sitting to the fire. Her heart sank, leaving her empty as she traced gently along the pendant that had hung from her neck. It was the one thing she had left from even before the settlement, before joining the company, and the one memento that seemed to soothe her in moments like this. "What would the others think if they knew what you did?" Coraliza froze as she clutched tighter to the tiny star around her neck. In that moment, it felt that her heart would surely stop as the crackling of the fire grew louder. Her eyes lid shut as she brought herself back to that day, back to before even when she came to Ul'dah. Even in the silence of her room she could still hear the screams ring out from memory as she recalled all of the buildings from her past settlement collapse around her. She took in a sharp inhale, searching for any bit of clarity to silence her own thoughts, but all she could feel was her control slipping from her, much as it felt before. Her fingers trembled around her pendant before they fell to curl around the fabric of her nightgown. She had done her best to bury her concerns for the sake of the others in the company, but now she could feel the calm and control that she had worn so loosely begin to unravel from its seams. Perhaps it was time to get someone involved.
