1. Hello and welcome. ^^; So, Akeno could certainly help in the department of cultural guide -- since Kugane is kind of her "home turf" and she can definitely point out some things Haien is very likely unaware of. A means to save face, in a sense. Unfortunately, her view of Doma and Domans in general is biased (given that the woman is a terrible bigot) and he's not likely to hear something from a neutral tongue. If you'd be interest in that kind of role-play note, I'd like to have them interact sometime. As far as your note of grouping together the different variations of role-players, I'm not entirely certain where my personal slider would end up. Group A is mostly out of the question with the main exception of holding certain job skills to the same level as their in-game status. Group B isn't entirely out of the question either however, I do try to maintain some level of what I believe to be "realistic" as far as magics and the reactions that should be had regarding them -- details I can further explain if needed/wanted. Group C has some qualities that I often include in my role-play; such as teleportation, although there are some qualities that I disagree with strongly here as well. Group D has the majority of my beliefs, based on the description provided -- namely due to me considering the environment as realistic. From what I can tell, the grouping isn't entirely necessary to interaction; but I figured I would address where I believe myself to stand -- kind of a heads up. That being said, my schedule varies in the worst way due to real life problems (which are often explained to people I interact with frequently). I am generally around during "the day" (between noon and midnight) most of the week -- coming from US CST. If you've any questions for me, I'm easily accessible through the Coalition private messages or through other avenues such as discord if such interests you.
2. So, there are a few different ways in which the free-to-play/trial account will have an influence on your role-play within the game. The bigger ones have been covered prior to this post and there are: •The area in which you will be able to RP which seems kind of minuscule when you consider how large certain communities are. For example, Balmung has a very large community with events hosted in a number of places which can be accessed by free-to-play accounts. •The number of events you'll be able to attend isn't very likely to be hindered, unless you become involved in certain story arcs and Free Company ran plots. I've seen a number of Free Companies expanding their story arcs into the newer content of the game -- likely because it's new and exciting and everyone is generally there. However, I can honestly say that there are a lot of events still held in low-level zones as well as events held at Free Company estates in Eorzea housing districts. •Glamours and outfits can be a problem since you cannot use the Market boards to acquire gear, nor trade with someone from the community, and you cannot unlock glamours until 50. Most of the "better looking" gear (especially for adventurers) happens after level forty, unfortunately -- though this opinion is still just an opinion. As mentioned prior, there aren't many hubs that you're missing out. Kugane and Ishgard/Foundation are about the only hubs however, the role-play there can come across as very segregated -- by which I mean, RP in these two areas tends to be done between Free Company members and people already engaged in long-term role-play with someone. In my experience, walk-up RP isn't very prominent here (although that's not to say it doesn't/never happen/s). Going back to an earlier point there is some open-world RP which is done through Free Company's and Link Shells alike, as well as events taking place in the world that you might not be able to attend easily. Being ferried to the higher level zones might be an option however, it can be quite frustrating when one considers the number of active/hostile mobs in areas that some people choose for role-play. Generally speaking, I do not see many people attending these types of events often. Linkshells and Free Companies are absolutely a large part of the role-play community however, it's quite possible to have active, long-term role-play without them. That being said, your chances of having a more engaging role-play experience do increase drastically when you become a part of a Free Company or an active Linkshell. ^^; Based on what I've seen and my experiences on Balmung (since it's the only server I've spent significant time on -- it's where I started and where my main has always been), I've drawn the conclusion that these two types of role-play are damn near even among community members. The only major difference would be when one starts to consider open-world role-play. The vast majority of Free Companies I've encountered host open/public events and generally encourage members of the community to come along. There are some Free Companies which welcome non-company members into their stories and plots (shameless plug: my Free Company is among those numbers). At any given time, you will find people engaging in casual role-play within taverns and localized hubs (such as Gridania and Ul'dah) -- these people are usually very inviting when it comes to walk-up (most people will even include it in their search information). This is actually a very good question to ask when considering engaging in the role-play communities here on Fourteen. I would say there is a good mixture of people looking for both however, I find a lot of people (again, this is Balmung specific as I have very little experience with role-play on other servers such as Mateus) who play citizens aren't "true" citizens in the sense that the vast majority of them are also experienced adventurers and sell-swords and the like. Rare is it to find someone who role-plays as nothing more than a clothing merchant or wait-staff at one of the many taverns; even many of the brothel role-players seem to be experienced in magic and/or hand-to-hand combat. As far as what the role-play is centered around, there is a very strong mix of casual, tavern role-play as well as long-term, exploration and adventure role-play. If you're looking for people to engage in adventures with, you'll no doubt find them in any major role-play hub. When it comes to certain factions, there are a number of role-players who've taken on a role within them in-character. The biggest example I can think of for this are the Grand Companies; you're likely to find a lot of people role-playing as members of them. However, when it comes to larger, more important people and figureheads I believe the general consensus is to avoid it. I have seen people role-playing as major figureheads, but I generally write them off as impostors and impersonators. The lore of the game is generally followed by the majority of the community that I've interacted with. You will (as with any game or world) have people who wish to exist outside of the game's lore -- these people are met with mixed reviews by the majority of the community with some people finding the role-play to be engaging and fun and others finding it to be... less than. My "best" advice would be to follow the game's lore. It's very easy to find engaging, lore-oriented role-play; this advice may be biased however, so take it with a grain of salt if you prefer. I do hope I've answered all your questions. ^^; I know this has gotten quite long. If you've any questions or need clarification/elaboration on anything feel free to message me here -- I'm generally around daily and try to respond as quickly as possible.

4. Good afternoon. ^^; So I have given a lot of thought to your conundrum here regarding character creation, backstory and general RP questions in the terms of Main Story Quests, the Echo and our positions as Warrior of Light. I'll be honest and start off by saying I've only skimmed the responses that other people have given. Let me first start by saying I don't think you need to change anything about your character or what you'd like for their background. It's very possible to include the majority of what you want for them: such as the adoption, the "unique" naming conventions, the two separate Clan avatars, etc. That being said, I'll address your concerns regarding the Main Story Quest, the Scions, the Echo and the Warrior of Light further down. Let us begin with your background. We have learned that there is at least one tribe of Xaela whom settled in Eorzea. They came, they saw and they made some homes here -- although we do not see them often. We also know of a tribe, from the original Xaela Clan list, whom built ships and traveled across the Eastern ocean; while we cannot be certain what is meant by the "Eastern Ocean", it's unlikely someone will dispute them ending up on Eorzean soils. While the lore itself (which we were given) states that they returned with tales, that does not mean there were some who "got lost" or "left behind". Now, with that in mind you've a very real possibility of simply making your character Xaela in it's lineage, but born with pale scales. Genetically speaking, this is likely a very rare occurrence and is very likely to be seen a bad omen or "curse" by members of the tribe, depending. This however, does lead into the realm of being adopted by Eorzean parents and given "new names". As for other tribes whom interacted with Raen, there are a couple options. You do have the option of the Kha tribe, whom often incorporate Raen/Doman cultures into there own. It would not be unheard of for a member of this tribe to "fall in love" with a woman born of Raen/Doman descent (or vice versa) and produce children. This would be very similar to the Malaguld tribe -- with the Raen/Doman outcast having been brought into the tribe; however, these two tribes have a slimmer chance (slimmer, not impossible) of winding up on Eorzean soils during a key point in time in your characters history. That being said, there is no reason that something "tragic" could have happened to send the boys away from their tribes or the boys could have more recently become familiar with Eorzeans and their cultures, taking a shine to them as it were and leading to a more recent "adoption" with people who may have made them feel more at home. There is nothing that says a person born to a Xaela tribe or a Raen Clan has to feel "at home" with their people; everyone is different at the end of the day. Now, all of that being said, we'll move on to the main chunk of your inquiries. ^^; I'll start with the first point you bring in: drawing and the possibility of Alphinaud playing some role. This will go hand-in-hand with the question regarding the Scions and your inquiry regarding the Main Story Quest. What I have learned over the years of RPing is this "golden rule": You are not the Warrior of Light and the Main Story Quest is a mechanic. What this means is generally speaking people whom Role-Play on MMO's do not "openly" RP what they experience in the game when it comes to Main Stories or "being the main hero". There is always the exception of people who get together groups to support such, but the vast majority of people have a tendency to turn their nose up at someone walking around in-game as the Warrior of Light. I have seen this first-hand, where someone was RPing that they'd accomplished everything they did in the Main Story Quest and the people they interacted with were vastly opposed and it led to some ridicule. I am not saying this is the fate for people who go that route, but it does seem the majority of people go with the generic mercenary/adventurer route. As I use to put in World of Warcraft: we are the nameless, faceless adventurer who are never given credit. What this means is that, while you could have done great deeds, it's unlikely anybody would recognize you outside of a few key items -- which I will get into now. Grand Company Standings are a thing and many people RP their appropriate ranks to a degree. I have encountered a large number of people who role-play their connections to the Immortal Flames, the Maelstrom and the Twin Adders. Generally, the people I have encountered role-play positions such as officer or lieutenant; they are recognized as "official" members, but do walk a very thin line with some of the community as playing a person of power can sometimes go to one's head and cause quite the back-lash from people who feel the lore is being "abused". In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with role-playing your accomplishments in game. If you spend hours at the Hunt Board, there is nothing wrong (in my opinion) with role-playing that you've accomplished some of these hunts. While they won't garner you a lot of attention, it is possible that NPC's would recognize you as one of the Hunters who frequents those boards. It also has the potential to lead to very interest and very immersive role-play. Now, with that out of the way. The Scions are similar to celebrities in modern day with a few changes. It's very possible that your character could have seen them in passing -- as there are a number of times during the Main Story Quest that you speak with them in populated areas. This being said, it's very possible to role-play having seen not only the Scions, but having seen the Warrior of Light as well. Your character's love of art could have led them to sketch out having seen Alphinaud as they might idolize them. So while you've never actually interacted with them, they are still a part of your history and a detail that can easily be used to strike up role-play: "I saw them once, the Scions. Thancred is shorter than I would've expected." I know not everyone will always agree with the choices you make, but it is very possible to remain within the realm of lore and still produce a character who fits everything you want. Lets talk about The Echo and all the fun there. The Echo doesn't always manifest in the same way. There are different forms/types of the Echo. We see this within the Main Story Quest, when Minfilia basically tells you that as the Warrior of Light, the manifestation of your Echo is the "rarest" of all forms -- and that is essentially what makes you the Warrior of Light. I have seen several people who've allowed themselves to possess the Echo in-character, in various ways. The majority of them often go with a "weaker" manifestation than those seen in the Main Story Quests and with the Scions themselves. The chances of having a very rare manifestation of the Echo alongside everything else you've designed for your character is infinitely small, if I am to be direct. Balance is key when creating and engaging people in role-play. Too many unique qualities and the balance becomes unstable. Alright, with all of that being said... we come to the final note you've inquired about: the Dark Knight Soul-stone. As I understand it (and mind you, I had to ask a few friends who've done the story-quest as I have not) through the Dark Knight quest-line you acquired your soul-stone from a deceased Dark Knight. In the realm of possibilities (alongside the realm of in-game lore), Dark Knights are not a common feature of Ishgard (labeled as Heretics to the Holy See and sentenced to execution upon sight -- or so I've been told) and their rarity seems to be quite high. That being said, regardless of rarity I cannot truly debate the possibility of finding the soul-stone of a deceased Dark Knight in the world: likely near one of the more fabled marks (from a mechanic standpoint: World Bosses). Sometimes, even the most experienced man (or woman) can become a little too big for their britches. As for not knowing what the soul-stone is precisely, this is a thin line. Hallucinations are the biggest "problem" of them and could potentially lead to your character believing this stone to be cursed -- now whether that draws them to it or sends them fleeing is entirely your choice. If it draws your character in, there's nothing that says going home could be a means of trying not to lose themselves to the hallucinations while also hoping the homeland might provide information about the stone? There are many routes to travel when it comes to squeezing something unique into the game's lore and I've come to learn that there are a lot of very tolerable people in the role-play community (at least on Balmung where I am stationed), especially when it comes to something being well written and well thought out. Research is the number one thing you can do when wanting to squeeze in unique facts/details about your character. I will offer you this last warning, because it hits very close to home for me personally. There is very little Hingashi lore available.
5. Meet Akeno Asukai, the first-born daughter of Lord Yasuari and the "rightful heir" to the Asukai Clan mantle; or so she would have the world believe, but a woman cannot become a Clan Lord... can they? As a Hingashi native, Akeno spends the vast majority of her time within Kugane (given that the rest of Hingashi isn't available in-game at the moment), sorting out the sordid details of her planned rise to power and observing the influx of Eorzean-born mercenaries into Hingashi lands. A bigot, raised on the belief that her bloodline is superior and that the mixing of races (Hingashi Au Ra and Hyur are excluded from this) is an abomination to one's lineage. Raised on a number of traditions, there is one which truly unsettles the chocolate haired vixen: the first-born son is always Clan successor. Who in the hell designed such a silly rule, hm? It is the one tradition which vexes Akeno to no end and leaves her with a rather sour taste in her mouth. In fact, it is this rule which has brought the woman to Kugane and into the lives of Eorzean-born mercenaries, scholars and bounty-hunters. - - - - - Unfortunately, such characters can pose quite the problem when attempting to fish up some walk-up RP from the local watering hole. Believe me, I've tried just about everything I can think of short of an uber-desperate search info line. So, I've come to you Coalition. ^^; Won't you help me find some more contacts for my "sweet", little Akeno? Now, you're probably asking yourself: Self, what in the world is this girl looking for? I've got an answer for that. In fact, I've got several! Akeno is a big picture kind of girl with end-game plans of overthrowing her younger brother and claiming what she believes is rightfully hers -- the mantle of Asukai Clan Lord. But how exactly does a girl get to such a place? With an army of course! That's right, Akeno has traveled to Kugane and accepted (much to her dismay) that she needs the blood of Eorzean men and women to fill ranks. However, it's going to take more than numbers to overthrow Akeno's younger brother -- it's going to take power and that's precisely what she intends to gain. Tall tales about treasure-filled Canals and buried artifacts have indeed caught the woman's ear and what secrets lay out in the world, Akeno intends to find them and put them to "good use". You might be asking yourself: What does this all mean? And to that, I want to face palm and sob a little on the inside... kidding. Sort of. What this means is there's ample opportunity for long-term story-driven RP between you and me. ^^; Doesn't that sound awesome!? No? Well fine then... rude. But seriously, Akeno is a somewhat flexible character as far as where she might be found. While yes, her majority is Kugane, she's also taken an interest in places such as the Grindstone and the Runestone; and while she hasn't made it to the frosty lands of Ishgard, she's heard stories of dragons and is quite interested in their bones. Don't ask. You do not have to become a member of Akeno's FC to become a member of the Vanguard however, there are some events that will be FC-only. While you may be working on Akeno's dime, you aren't obligated to pledge yourself to her name or her Clan. ^^; I feel as if this is getting entirely too long. I apologize. In short: Akeno needs more activity. I cannot grow her story alone. Question, comments and concerns can be directed to me via the following options: *Private Message here on the Coalition. *Private Message in-game on Akeno Asukai. 6. For me personally this is a no-brainer: I will always assume a persons weapon has some for of attachment. For the example you used, I will ICly presume there are straps in place and will generally include them in an emote by way of "weapon strapped to one's back". It's vague and doesn't really state openly there's something across the person's chest or shoulders, but that the weapon is held on through some means -- I don't know if they're magical or not by looking at you, but since I rely on a degree of realism I presume there are straps. The same holds true for my own character, whose weapons are often times hidden beneath her overcoat/armor, when the placement of weapons becomes visible. However, I imagine this varies between people -- I know there are some who use aether/magic to keep their weapon attached. This leads to small, sometimes visible aura's around the weapon itself. I don't see it often, to be fair/honest. I have had a few issues with some people who've taken my characters actions to heart, believing them to stem from a place outside of the environment. It can be quite frustrating when playing a character who is mean and you do have to rely on the understanding of others. Not everyone is overly joyed to interact with a character who is aggressive or mean-spirited. Take my lovely Hingashi Clan Lord, Akeno -- she's quite the bigot however, she understands that aligning herself with Eorzean sell-swords, strategists and researchers is necessary for the time being. This however, has made walk-up extremely difficult for me and I've managed to lead myself into several poor encounters (in which people become aggressive out of character, some even going so far as to question why anybody would want to interact with such a "horrible" character). Communication is definitely key and I often try to warn people, especially if the RP progresses to the point that her true nature is revealed. Unfortunately, in my case, there is not a lot of walk-up involved. Generally, RP for me comes from friends who know me out of character and have known me for quite some time. TL;DR Playing a mean-spirited character can be rough and a person may experience a drought in walk-ups. It simply varies from the type of aggression or bitterness they have. A caustic character can still be quite fun, especially in the right environment.
7. This. Every bit of this. Akeno would certainly have feelers out in Kugane -- searching for this type of person or information leading to someone with knowledge she's not yet obtained. So a person with a fascination/interest in Primals and all of the information which comes with it would definitely be someone she would have her shadows searching for. ^^; I won't be around much in-game, but I'm passing your name onto Akeno's personal Shadow in the hopes he'll reach out within twenty-four hours.
8. They attach at the point as human ear canal would be -- the actual opening of the ear itself. If you need a reference, use the Character create in-game and go with the "conch" face (you can see it in my avatar) and the really short hair which came out with Stormblood (which has one side braided/shaved).
9. Ooh, reformed character. -squeak- This excites me so very, very much. I'll have to keep my eye out for Benedict while wandering around the outskirts of the Quicksand as I think it would be interesting for Arisu to bump into someone who has given up his life as a villain for something... better?
10. So, I have this little Xaela girl... and she's kind of a big ol' {expletive}... and she sort of needs some more contact with humanity and all its wonders in the hopes of, oh I don't know, becoming a little more sensitive to the feelings of others. Mostly strangers. Arisu Ai is... well, she's exactly what one might expect from a Xaela girl raised in a small Doman village -- surrounded by Raen and Hyur... children who poke fun and giggle behind her back... older kids who shove her into the ground and play victim... And lets not forget that the poor thing is practically evil incarnate. Abrasive and as nasty as they make them, she's prone to a bit of verbal abuse when flustered... lashing out like the wildkin she was born to be. I would very much like to expand her horizons however, and introduce her to more than just my Free Company comrades -- whom I knew would welcome her with open arms and delighted grins. And by expand her horizons I do mean get her involved with people of all walks of life. Nice people, mean people, strange people... people she can rely on to tell her that she shouldn't speak in such a way... people to tell her that she's rude, nasty and downright intolerable... and perhaps some people to share in her misery and particular breed of unpleasantness. Some aspects I am very interested in pursuing include: more bodyguards (she's going to need them once rumors get out), like-minded individuals who see the potential in certain experiments, the good ones who might help pull Arisu's scales (balance her out), rivals (because everyone needs a good rival), long and short term RP buddies... casual meetings that happen once or twice a month are nice, but so is long-term engagement in which we speak and RP once or twice a week. I like to think I am fairly flexible, though I do have a full-time job and many, many nights are spent trudging along at work. So, please keep such in mind as there will be times where I am too drained for any kind of serious interaction. And for that I do apologize. ^^;
11. So, I didn't happen to come across any details as far as getting in touch to request a commission... figured this was as safe as any other option. :3 I would just love to get a colored chibi of my sarcastic queen, Arisu. I have updated her look since her signature and profile picture were made -- so I do have current, up-to-date reference pictures for you. ^^; Could you possibly inbox me here if you've open comm spots? I'd love to snatch one up as quickly as humanly possible.
12. This both excites and frightens me. ^^; Also, welcome back to you as well.

What is Open Mic Night you might ask? Well, it's an opportunity to flex your skills, of course; whether it's dancing, playing a violin or anything in between, we're offering up the Lounge's spacious stage for your talents. But how does one sign up for such an event? Signing up is as easy as sending me a private message here on ffxiv-roleplayers -or- by messaging one of the following people in-game: Minatsuki Takami, Bibinji Bubunji, V'tali Dusk or L'lorileigh Tsunhe. please note we only have a certain number of slots available and all entries are first come first serve For those who do obtain a slot, we ask that you arrive a half hour prior to the event's start. This means, you are expected to arrive (at least out of character) at 6:00pm CST. order of performance is based on first come, first serve But are you paying me? The answer is a simple no; there will be no exchange of in-game gil from Sigil to your character for performing at Open Mic night. However, performance announcers are more than happy to usher out an advertisement or two (generally done at the time of introduction and between acts) for your FC (especially if they hosts their own performance events). Think of Open Mic Night as another fun way to get your name and the name of your FC out there; attract people you might not have reached otherwise. Have Questions? † Sigil of Seven † Black Market Acquisitions Company Proprietor's of the Last Bell Lounge Othard Origins; For centuries the Far East has whispered of rumors centered around a cabalistic group of dissolute individuals bound and determined to deliver this world into a new dawn of debauchery. These enigmatic creatures, while human, have often been portrayed as demons -- voidsent masquerading in plain sight, corrupting the good and dragging the purest of souls down into the muck. Such tales were often voiced to young children in the hopes of educating them against the temptations presented by those bearing the mark of the Seven; and in the more recent years, these particular myths has been centered around a small village nestled into one of Othard's many mountainsides. Eorzean Arrivals; With the arrival of Au Ra on Eorzean soils, the hushed cries of the Seven have followed, trailing behind the scaled visitors like a plague; infecting the ears of the naive and leading lost souls into the bowels of sin. But such whispers remain incomplete, speaking to the unchained nature of the beast (so to speak) and briefly brushing the topic of its newly crowned conductor -- a pale horned witch born of Othard blood, hiding amidst the refugees of Doma. A New Home for Sin; Some rumors speak hidden truths and those circulating around a particular lounge tell the story of a pale witch and her band of unabashed adventurers using the thrill of a night without societies chains to lure those of good intentions down a dark and dangerous path... These out of character bouts also include nights when I simply wish to wind down from a hellish day at work and have chosen to simply bounce around the Quicksand, reading search information. My work hours are mostly day-night shifts, meaning I get home rather late for some people and this can make RPing a tad difficult. Unfortunately these hours are not going to change for quite some time, so those interested in making myself and Mina a contact must understand that nights are our friends. I will do my best to make myself available when possible, but real life has priority. Combat and Injury through RP: When it comes to combat, Minatsuki is no fighter. You will not see her boasting about her last scuffle, razing the local taverns after a few mugs of mead or competing in the localized sporting events wherein men and woman beat one another bloody. That being said, Minatsuki is not without some training and should her life be put in danger, it will show itself. As far as injuries are concerned, I am quite open to them. A bit of conflict here and there is good for the soul and the development of a character. The world in which Mina lives is a dangerous one -- there are murders and psychopaths at every corner and it's bound to happen. That being said, I am the only one who gets to determine how far an injury will go and I am vehemently opposed to Mina losing a limb and/or her life as of this moment. In Character Romance Hooks: Minatsuki has already experienced her first real love and it, like so many others, has a very tragic end. While the girl is not opposed to finding another to share her life with, she is not an easy target -- for those interested in simply acquiring someone to hold hands with and kiss, Mina isn't the one for you. That being said, I am very open to romance in an RP setting; however, my love of stories and chemistry between characters often overrides all other senses. If two characters are not compatible in the romance department, such is life and while it will not ruin a friendship between them (in my opinion), I simply will not commit Minatsuki to someone without there being something between the two characters. Non-Romantic RP Hooks and Story Arcs: These are the cake and the romance is the icing -- without stories and plots and hooks related to everything outside the realm of romance and relationships, RP would get pretty boring pretty fast. And Mina is a character who loves hearing tales from people, even exaggerated, flamboyant tales that couldn't possibly be real. This means I, as the player and writer, are very open to story arcs and hooks that are centered around learning more about another character or an artifact. This also means I am open to conflict RP -- as stated above in the combat section. Family Ties are another story all together. Unfortunately for me, I have written Minatsuki's backstory to utterly demolish her blood relations; however, those who knew her family (siblings and/or parents) could still be out there in Eorzea. So yes, I am open to this type of RP and if it's something you're interested in, please contact me and we can discuss it further. The Lore of Final Fantasy 14: I have always been kind of a "lore-whore" in any MMO that strikes my fancy and Final Fantasy has been no different. While I still considered myself to be a new player and very new to the franchise (this is my first Final Fantasy game), I do make an effort to maintain a character that would realistically sit within the given perimeters of the realm itself. That being said, I am not opposed to interacting with people who push the envelop and add a little something extra that may not coincide directly with the written guidelines, but as far as characters who exist purely outside of the realm of possibilities -- I am uncertain and even a little apprehensive; and characters who fall into this category will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Chat Box Channels and Functions: Most of the chat box functions are used as they are intended by the game mechanics themselves however, there are always exceptions to this. Generally, channels such as /em, /say and /yell are used to interact with other people with in character actions and speech. /yell is used most often for RP events wherein Minatsuki is performing and I want to ensure that all in attendance can "see" the show -- because I don't feel it's very fun for most people when they attend an event, but happen to sit just beyond emote range. As for other functions such as /shout, I am rarely in character when engaging conversations inside of them as I consider them to be more akin to a general chat. An out of character conversation to occupy the space between RP posts. Mhm. Linkshells are another story altogether as they vary between groups; I am currently a part of an in character linkshell and a linkshell that is based in out of character -- used namely to acquire RP with other medium to heavy RPers. 18. So, I might be a teeny bit late to the party, but...
19. While I don't consider myself to be particularly good when it comes to art, I do find that my preference is my tablet - even though it's very old and I'm in dire need of an upgrade. I feel that making mistakes on a tablet (using software such as Photoshop, obviously) is more forgiving than making mistakes on paper. For me, I feel the lines are much cleaner (usually) - even when I do manage to create something on paper that I'm "proud" of, I always end up scanning it and redoing it with software.
20. Please don't maim me. So, I recently picked up the game and started to delve into the world of Final Fantasy and all it's glory. This includes listening to discussions about previous Final Fantasy games (and making plans to indulge in them personally) as well as watching "movies". A Realm Reborn however is neither my first MMO experience or my first RPG experience - World of Warcraft claimed those rights many years ago. So, this is my hello to the community. I look forward to experiencing the Final Fantasy universe through XIV and meeting new and interesting people along the way.
