1. Bumping for a lovely social event! I won't make it this time, alas-- but next time for sure!!
2. Just wanted to let you know I had a great time tonight! Really loved the crowd, especially the midlander pair and the Dotharl sisters that ended up coming!! Expertly run event as always! I'll probably have Flora's dad come back, next time
3. Hremfing and Gundobald from Little Ala Mhigo are a kawaii old man couple and nobody on this planet can change my mind about this entirely unfounded headcanon
4. Klaus Valerian-- self-righteous, arrogant Ala Mhigan Morrissey writes preachy poetry, only to get his ass brutally handed to him again and again. Flees country humbled, copes with ptsd, raises weird religious daughter alone because his wife is an utter prick. H'sientsii Yan-- Resistance widow grieves badly and decides binge drinking, partying, and animal hoarding aren't so bad of coping mechanisms after all.
5. AAAAAA this was so much fun!! Thank you for running this, this was such a chill event-- I'll have either Klaus or his daughter come back next time! <3
6. Homgg I am so excited about this whole concept. I will definitely hit you up about this!
7. Anneliese Valerian-- washed-up Resistance medic shouts at trees for being too loud.
8. I'm female irl and generally play female characters-- mostly because I've enjoyed telling stories about women, my way. As someone else said, there's an excitement to wanting to write a well-written lady. In the stories I'm writing, I have the freedom to make my characters something I'm happy with, ie, people with feelings and hopes with dreams. I haven't always felt that way about female characters in media-- sometimes I'm sitting there like "come on, does every lady in this show/movie/game gotta be the writer's sexy sexy blow-up-doll?" As a result, yeah, I tend to walk the other direction when I meet a female character and it reads in a way that's just straight-up slimy and objectifying-- like the player is typing with one hand, describing the character's luscious lips and alluring gaze in every post. Which, alright, there's a place for that, enjoy that-- I've just been repulsed by it too much elsewhere to want to have any part of it here. As it's been said a few times in this thread, if you're really wanting to play a lifelike character of your opposite gender, it's easy! Just play a person, not a sentient pair of jiggling, heaving breasts that shimmer oh-so sensually in the pale moonlight. The rest will follow, I promise! And if you really still want a sexy character, use a little "show, don't tell"-- make your character's personality one that proves appealing to other characters.
9. A curious Keeper with fiery red hair walks the piers of Limsa Lominsa, hanging up fliers on the various flat surfaces he passes. As he places one at the height of your average Lalafell, he looks up... "So, tired of the humdrum are you? Quite curious what a night away from the usual day can bring? You're not alone. Far too many like you out there, who wish a night of being treated like a king, or perhaps just matching wits with an interesting character. We've many such characters, all fit for our stage, you see." "What is our stage? It's tea house, but so much more. It's a place of gallant artistry. Of subtle deviations. Of fine meals and finer drink. It's a place where life is... simple. It begins when you choose your host. Some choose by biography, some by sight. Some merely let the winds choose for them. But once chosen? The night is what you make of it. Would you find yourself unravelling the enigma that is Seraph? Perhaps taking in the quiet dignity of Eden. Or perhaps just writing a story all your own with me, Zeromus. No choice is wrong, and every one is distinct." "Now let us be clear. This is not a night destined to lead to the pleasures of the flesh. Such things are not without merit, but also not where our deviations lead. Ours is a house built from comfort that can come from any form. Not just those of the body. So bring an open mind, but please.. keep those pants closed. You may need to open your wallet a bit. A thousand gil. A meager price for the night you receive. We aim to make every last coin return to you in tenfold the enjoyment." "So, should you make it... Remember that we are there to comfort. There to distract. And there to serve." The man turns to walk away before turning back, "And everyone deserves a bit of fluff in their story as well, don't they?" இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ— OoC Info இڿڰۣ-ڰۣ— It's that magical time!! We're pleased to announce our first Host Club opening of the year! :moogle:*confetti shoots out of sleeves* We will be hosting Saturday, February 25th at 4:00 PM CST / 5:00 PM EST! The entrance fee is a mere 1,000 gil, and will be collected at the door. The location is Ward 8, Plot 13, (in the Goblet) and Hosts and Hostesses will be selected at a first come, first serve basis. (In other words, if the Host or Hostess you want has already been selected, then you will have to choose another, or depart until next time. The person who arrives first will get the first selection, and so on until all Hosts and Hostesses are spoken for.) *Note: To avoid confusion, please line up on the lawn in the order of arrival when first entering the grounds. Here is the menu that the Host Club offers! Here is a look at the dossiers that are posted outside of the Club! (Note: Not all employees may be present on the day of the opening, depending on schedules. Feel free to ask the person at the door if a particular Host or Hostess is available, if you have a particular one in mind. Rest assured though - all of our Hosts and Hostesses have their own unique merits and advantages!) As always, please let me know if there are any questions! Here's looking forward to perhaps our grandest opening yet!! Be there or be a sad cactuar who misses Host Club! :cactuar: See you there!
10. Flora's guilty pleasures are a little guiltier than most, owing to her "omg nice things so sinful! Must roll in dirt and starve self and overwork for Rhalgr!!" attitude Flora loves bread. It's the most magical thing in the world to her. She'll eat a whole loaf before she realizes it, and then feel bad because she was supposed to be fasting till sundown. She also really likes perfume-- but, being the sort of highlander that is perpetually coated in a thick layer of sweat and grime, she hardly ever feels like she ought to apply any, since it'd be a waste if she just sweat it off. She also really likes to carve wood and embroider, although she'd be mortified to admit how much time she spends on hobbies like that. A whole hour?? Shame on you, Flora! You should be disciplining your body for Rhalgr!
11. For anyone on the fence: Host club is ace, and you should try it. <3 You get a fun one-on-one scene with a stranger, with none of the anxious waiting around in a tavern hoping it will come to you! It's perfect for expanding your group of friends-- especially if your character isn't too outgoing, ordinarily! I think it's also a great way to test-drive an alt ;D
12. Host club yassssssss Come have delicious one-on-one RP with a stranger of your choice!! It's better than fishing for walk-ups!
