  1. I think it's a little late to be trying to set standards on your relationships there, Dog. Yeah, after Dhemgeim there's really no point, but I've made a few solid ground rules now: No wild animals or Coralites.
  2. Aya, there's a very easy comeback to that line there. I'm sure I'm not the only one who sees it there. Something about a spit roast. I'd say it but that's just too easy for me. Which I think sums up the relationship between you and I. "Too easy for me."
  3. Whoa whoa whoa, let's not get carried away here. Why would I want to follow in your footsteps? To begin with, they're not even yours. You lost your feet along with the rest of your lower half. And if "following in your footsteps" means everything that led up to that, then who in their right mind would want to? I'd like to do something a little less stupid. Like listen to Minfilia. It was only my legs below my knees, thank you very much. And they're not lost. I know exactly where they are. Leviathan has them.
  4. Sorry, was just following your example. Boy, you couldn't follow in my footsteps if you stole my shoes. I know you're a Doman, but heard you were here before all the Doman refugees arrived. I can only imagine what happened. Let me guess. There was a girl on the boat and you ran off until you hit land.
  5. The title of the thread is "roast" the person above you, not "slap fight" the person above you.
  6. Now now, Aaron and Chachanji, both of you are pretty. As evidenced by the fact that I'm pretty sure I've slept with both of you, but I was too drunk to recall the entire encounter.
  7. This is not the case. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=11586&pid=182218#pid182218 http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=11670&pid=183814#pid183814 Two recent examples. Both of those cases had text to go with them. So what you're saying is, you can not just post a macro. It must have text? What if there's simply nothing else to say? Who are you to determine the depths to what our posts must contain? Each post must contain x amount of discussion or be off topic? Sometimes a well placed macro just sums up all you have to say. It clearly shouldn't be, so we'll rewrite the rule(s) in question. I didn't issue a warning. I made that judgment call. Am I being taken to task for being lenient and not issuing a warning for a post that clearly didn't deserve one? Or is the issue in the language I employed in my PM title / PM content? I'd like to know. I'm still leaning towards "overreaction" if it's the former. I'm taking you to task for making it an issue at all. You could have just said nothing and not disrupted the thread. You didn't. I take issue with that.
  8. That sounds like a challenge! I accept! All kidding aside, I would say that's what they are in theory, but what I think the problem here is with the interpretation of the law by certain moderators rather than the law itself. What seems fine to many might seem over the line for one mod, but the mod's interpretation will win out. Just as the mob should not be in charge, those in charge are not infallible, either. Doesn't someone still usually have to report a post for the mods to actually look at it? I wouldn't imagine if the mod just happens to see it in the course of reading/posting in that thread.

If it's not meant to hurt someone or be disruptive, why is that against the rules?
  10. That sounds like a challenge! I accept! All kidding aside, I would say that's what they are in theory, but what I think the problem here is with the interpretation of the law by certain moderators rather than the law itself. 11. Osric, you still have not addressed that every time a macro has been posted in a non-meme thread, but was relevant to the material in the thread, a warning has been issued. It is this kind of moderating that frustrates me, because these posts are not against the rules, yet warnings are being issued. Of course, you may be interpreting the rules different from me. Maybe there needs to be a bit more oversight here. In heated threads, this kind of moderation is valuable, and I thank you for the work you do there. In small, non-dramatic threads, this kind of moderation comes across as boredom and an eager adherence to a possibly poorly worded rule. That said, I really worry any locking of this thread could be interpreted as mods sweeping a problem under the rug. This isn't the thread for this topic we want, but this is the thread for the topic we have.
  12. Yes, this is why we're so frustrated that you brought real world politics here in a discussion that does need to happen, but in a even-keeled and level-headed way. There is no need for such hyperbolic rhetoric. Responsibility goes both ways, and this is something you need to take responsibility for. Your title was intentionally divisive. Your insistence on making this a for reals political issue is a problem. You've compared us unfavorably to tumblr, but you're the one crying actual oppression. It's not that serious. That said, there is a problem. And problems have scale. Overzealous moderation is not the god damn Khmer Rouge.
  13. There's no ban on them. I think what people are experiencing here is a gap between the rules and the enforcement of the rules.
  14. Probably being a reactionary libertarian...guilty as charged. But the RPC is still part of the Internet, which has its own narrative regarding free speech and censorship. I'm not going to expect people to agree with refusing to compartentalize a forum based on playing pretend and the politics of the Internet, but for me, people being able to post what they want falls into the wider topic of self-determination. It is a forum for pretend-players. But those pretend-players are real people, still. And I give tumblr so much shit for taking things so seriously. If all you have is a hammer...
  15. In the thread about the party yesterday, Bryn posted a feels macro over after an emotional post I made. She was given a warning for this, even though I don't think anyone could argue that it was out of place or inappropriate for the thread, except for that it was technically in conflict with the letter of the forum rules. I would just like to point that out. I made a sentimental post, she replied with a macro that was on point and relevent to the post I just made, and she was warned by mods to take it down.
  16. See, normally, I'd be on your side here. I feel the mods have been heavy handed about image macros. The ban on them to me reads like a "no fun allowed" rule, when a more sensible rule simply saying "Please do not derail threads with memes. If you want to post a meme, make sure it is relevant" seems like the better option. However, please, NEVER compare anything that happens on this site to actual politics. It's never equivalent. It's never thought-provoking. It's never clever.
  17. Is as in Kiss Ki as in Key Er as in Air Ka as in Ka-boom! Iskierka
  18. No need to feel bad! You go ahead and do what you need to! It wasn't a disruption at all.
  19. I can't thank everyone involved in this enough. I feel truly blessed to have friends like you, and for the degree to which you have accepted me into the community. You are all fantastic. I really don't know what I was thinking making Dogberry's birthday the same as mine. Mostly, I just wanted to know when to age him each year, but I never fathomed anyone would want to throw a birthday party. I have a bit of a weird history with birthday celebrations, which I'll spare you all the details of. Needless to say, yesterday was extremely cathartic for me, as role play experiences often get to be. What you did for me yesterday would have been impossible at certain times in my life. I can't thank you enough for that experience.
  20. Osric, there's a reason we say you remind us of a Baltimore police officer.
  21. Stormwind, buddy, I trust you about as far as I can throw you. Which, unfortunately for both of us, is pretty far.
  22. Just going to break kayfabe for this post and remind you all that I love you guys. Keep up the awesome zingers.
  23. And the true men can get the same effect without replacing their bits with bots! It's okay to need equipment for your equipment, we won't judge you to your face. Good, you can stick to judging catboy slapfights on Saturday nights instead.
  24. As soon as Bryn stops finding solace in half-a-roe's bedding! I can't really blame her. Parts of Dogberry can be set to vibrate. Mortal men just can't compete. Gegenji, buddy, you ever consider seeking "halp" for that speech impediment?
  25. You people are being too softball. I love you all, really, but for a roast you gotta be MEAN! Cici, like her pizza buffet namesake, is a good idea in theory until you end up covered in grease. And speaking of namesakes, Franz, I hope one day you'll live up to yours and end up getting shot. Warren, Warren, Warren... what can I say about you that has not already been said about Dalamud? Kage, your hat is really nice. Does it come in Lalafell sizes?
