That seems right. Seriously though i will send a msg and if no one replies i will either send in-game letter or PM here on RPC. If it takes someone days to get back to me or just do not get back to me I try not to take it personal and just move on. . . This makes me sad. Let's be friends - i will answer your tells in a timely manner because i can't imagine a scenario where i am so busy i cant be bothered to exchange pleasantries with a new acquaintance :> ---- I mean come now, being friendly costs nothing. If someone attempts to message me and I missed it to afk or busy with something, I write their name down and do my best to say hello next time and apologise for not getting to them when they msg me. you make it sound like you are the tapeworm of rp I joke - really I understand what you mean 100%. I think that is the most organic form of development in rp. You may think you are taking or stealing this method from another, but really you are just sending it through a different filter/different mind and refining it into something else completely. :thumbsup:

Edelweiss was simple - just a flower i think is neat: it grows at high altitudes and is very sturdy. it is a flower, but its petals are thick and not delicate like many other flowers. I remembered that FFXIV mentions the edelweiss in a sideways manner through the rogue's guild. So I made this neat flower my character's name ooc and her pseudonym IC. Anyways, the highlander design I made for her has her hair is really light blonde with some near-white in it so it seemed like a good fit. Her real name, Elsa Engstrom, is just patchwork. It could be lore bending or breaking bc I chose not to go the highlander epithet surname route, but I just prefer to name my characters that way. -- Ameline Valtin, my late elezen, was random generated name - no special story or meaning there. -- Beatrix Archer, my little midlander, is sort of a joke that i took too far. I thought it would be funny to make a Bea Arthur and just named her Beatrix Archer. It seemed midlander enough. Now I occasionally RP her or use her to tank pre-HW stuff where people dont fling poo at paladins -------------- EDIT: I forgot, i have this thing where every character I make must have a given and surname that equals 5 syllables when added together. Idk why, but it really makes it flow better. Am-el-ine--Val-tin (3+2) Be-a-trix--Ar-cher (3+2) Ed-el-weiss--Eng-strom (3+2) Some of my favourite names of others in the community share this even if they did not think to do it intentionally !

I had a marketing professor in college that said once that ppl who say that persuasion through media holds no power over them are typically the ones who are persuaded the most because they feel that the choices they have been subtly guided to are their own :evil: Straight white American gun loving Republican who will vote for Donald Trump. I have sort of done this before with Ameline, though with my alt Beatrix and my new character Edelweiss, no. . . I just sort of disconnect pve things with RP. I wanted Edelweiss to be able to beat people up, but I did not want her to be a monk with chakras and that. I wanted her to be able to use a bow, but you will never hear her singing or telling stories like a bard, etc. OOC classes are DRG, BRD, PLD, MNK, SCH, SMN. Beatrix is a physician. Not a healer, not a scholar, just a surgical practitioner that treats wounds conventionally and not with magick/aether/whatever. OOC, she is a PLD, SCH, MCH.

oooo fun thread ! Did you have any of these "roleplayer crushes"? y/n, is it just me, being a creepy nugget? I cant say if you are a creepy nugget or not, but i can say that if you are, I am too because I so totally can relate ! How do you handle these? Do you just send an aggressive PM/tell with things like "you, me, RP, 8PM EST"? I have been so incredibly fortunate that really neat people have more backbone than I do and send me VERY welcome tells out of the blue saying "oh, hay i have seen you posting pictures on RPC" or "Oh i read your wiki it was neat". In fact that is how I know most of my friends in this game ! I have tried to pay it forward (I am looking your way, Eckerd !!) but i will always be slow at that - just who i am ! Generally though if someone wants to get to know me I try to be really friendly and my calendar is not so full that i cant spare a little time to get to know a new character ! Stories to share? Bonus points for embarrassing things. Stories ? Hmm well there was this one time when this nerd named Martiallais PMed me and said 'hay come RP with me !' and I was like 'k !' or this other time when this other nerd named V'aleera and I just kept showing up at the same events and sort of got into a situation where it would have been more awkward NOT to say anything IC. That is pretty much how it goes with me ! I am easy to deal with - what can I say ? Did senpai notice you, when you started emoting at them very very loudly? I can't think of any times that i was bold enough to try to catch the attention of someone i really want to RP with IC. Really, it's mostly like what the lovely Ms. Faye said: Just how excited do you get when plotting with these new people, and realize they love your ideas and bring even more material on the table? I am always sooo excited to plan and interact with new people. Like 11/10 excited - it really inspires me to get new perspectives ! Many of them totally just ate up my enthusiasm, but I have to remember that not everyone is like me. Did like, once, this person was actually pretty awful and you regretted everything? Idk, regrets. . . Always some regrets, ya ? I mean there have been times when i completely got off on the wrong foot with someone and just wished I had a reset button. But that's all part of the experience and I feel like it comes with the territory of meeting new people.

I see Edelweiss as the "disc 1" villain that you hate to like. Is she the real villain ? No !!! She is not ideologically invested with the bad people. She is a thorn in your side that you will eventually work out. Who knows ? She may even turn into someone you would hardly call ally but share a common enemy or interest with by the end of the game. The best example I could give would be the Turks from FFVII (sorry ! i have only really played like 3 FF games so maybe there is a better example) - they are just silly rivals squabbling with the protagonist, not true enemies.
