I'm currently looking for an IC connection for Fina, who briefly dated a man in the Observatorium a few years back. He's supposed to be elezen, but if there are no fine elf-men with long, flowing Legolas locks out there who are tied to the Observatorium, I can work with hyur/miqo'te. Your role would be fairly casual and not particularly dramatic (no crazy jealous ex plots here unless you REALLY want it) and would be somewhat related to Ishgard, if you're up for it! It can require as little or as much of your time as you like -- this is a pretty flexible gig So...where my hot Observatorium nerds at?

Fina is a bit of a researcher into Dalamud cultists, if that kind of academia tickles your fancy -- otherwise she's ssuuuuuper into alchemy (understatement of the century) and might have read (and be super-embarrassed about reading) one of his erotica novels, depending on how widely distributed they are

There is sometimes a smattering of RP happening at the Drowning Wench in Limsa -- I also stop by the Bismarck now and then. The Coffer and Coffin and Buscarron's Druthers would both make good locations, I suspect, but usually you need to organize/participate in a plot or event to know exactly where to go and when.

A bit more background I just wrote out for Divisor that may be interesting to others: Fina's shipment of sleep elixirs have gone missing somewhere in Central Thanalan. They were shipped from Limsa Lominsa, destined for Little Ala Mhigo to a troupe of Brass Blades stationed there who requested them to aid guards who had trouble adjusting to staying up at night and sleeping during the day for their shifts. The caravan charged with shipping it is basically gone without a trace and nobody really knows why or how. There are very few leads and nobody seems willing to look into it. The Brass Blades have demanded a refund and a second shipment sent out to compensate. Fingers have been pointed at Ala Mhigans refugees, who pretty much everyone hates anyway; the Amalj'aa, who are a pain in everyone's ass; desert vagrants who are looking for a quick profit; and finally, the Brass Blades themselves, who have seedy allegiances and means. Our dear investigators would be charged with interviewing people of interest and gathering information for Fina. The outcome is not yet set in stone and will possibly change depending on who participates!

I'm not sure how lore-friendly this is, but I have been making assumptions that fluctuations in aether and general scarred/weirdness of the Mor Dhona area might make things such as accurate, consistent potion-making/alchemy go a little haywire from time to time. I have been kind of thinking of it like humidity or altitude when trying to bake, in a sense. I could be totally off about it, but it's been somewhat of a minor point in my RP that it wouldn't kill me to nix it if it turned out to be totally in left field.

Amateur researcher stepping in to say I have a character who would love to chat with yours

I'm sending an investigator on the trail of a missing shipment of sleep elixirs destined for a troupe of Brass Blades stationed in and around Ala Mhigo. The questions are easy and straight-forward -- who sabotaged it and why? This should be a fairly straight-forward, short, and sweet plot arc requiring very little of your time. I just wanted a bite-sized morsel of story to scratch an itch, so if you're looking for a little semi-instant gratification, this is it! Needed: 2-4 Brass Blades (corrupt or honest both welcome), 2-3 Ala Mhigans, an indeterminate number of shifty rapscallions (whole groups welcome), and 1-2 determined investigators!

Where my matchmakers at? Fina's looking for some blind dates because it turns out that it's actually pretty hard to pick up hotties when you're in a laboratory 92% of the time. Weirdos/creeps welcome, too!

Fina is a merchant and would probably trade off some potions for this kind of thing -- can I pick up three? One random card from the first three sections would be nice, I don't have any specific requests otherwise.

The holidays may be messing with population ATM (hello from my phone while I'm 500 miles from my PC), but typical active hours are after 6PM EST or so that I've noticed, and I suspect the PST crowd logging later would mean people are most active between 6PM-6AM EST.

If you'd like a language tutor, I'd love to get something going! Maybe our characters could exchange -- Fina likes to poke around ruins/historical sites (I've done RP in Amdapor Keep/Township), but isn't much of a fighter. She'd be happy to load him up with pastry fish and language lessons in exchange.

I'm a recent immigrant from Gilgamesh to Balmung -- it was worth the $18 move, RP-wise, TBQH. Gilgamesh was my initial choice due to being unable to get in on Balmung during open character creation, but I found the RP community to be A) impossible to find at times and B) pretty closed-off and cliqueish when I did find it. I wasn't a wallflower about it, I tried to engage others, but it never really hit its stride for me. YMMV. You can't throw a rock without hitting open-world RP on Balmung during prime NA evening hours, honestly. I've also found that people are pretty engaging/responsive on the whole. If you want a partner to ease you into things and you wind up on Balmung, please let me know! It would be totally in-character for my Hyur to make conversation with just about anyone and I could use a few more friends since I'm also kinda new, so I'd be glad to help.
