  1. I think we might just have solved the "child with horns" question. That young boy sure looks like he has horns to me and there was a slioute of something else that looked horned to me also in the vid. Perhaps there is a horned race that will act as story NPC?
  2. (Hope you don't mind my spying on your characters. lol. I really like Molly so far. If I decide to roll my villian ig she might run into some of you guys, though she's not a "criminal type" (ie she wouldn't be joining a gang) but maybe employing them. Anyway just saying I'm enjoying your characters so far. lol. )
  3. Well with what's going on with my employment situation I probalby won't be able to join the game when it launches. Looks like the government won't be paying me for my caregiving of my paernts after all, I have 1 last thing to check, and if that's the case I'll need to work part time and who knows how that will go...
  4. Nikkita frowned peering toward the dim light ahead around the old man. She wasn't exactly thrilled with going underground since the idea of a secret passage leading to an exit didn't seem exactly logical to her. Unarmed with nothing other than her wits, she had nothing to focus magic with or even a simple club, she was at somewhat of a disadvantage if there was something other than an exit ahead.
  5. (Ok sorry I misunderstood lol. fixed it.) She repressed a smirk on the "on faith comment". "So we have nothing but a guard's word to go on?" "Well I'll hope the guard genuiely wanted this old man to escape...and hold off on judgement..." she thought in irritation as the stairs became steep. "We seem to be getting deeper..." she shivered slightly at the dampness. She hated the wet.
  6. (Fixed. Sorry for the misunderstanding) Nikkita bowed her head demurely whispering a few "thank yous" despite being told to be quiet as that would be expected of a young vulnerable woman. She set in set behind the old man as he caught up to the man further down the hall where they seemed to find a secret passage. Carefully she stopped stepping-up behind the old man just off to the side so she could study the face of the two escapee she hoped would guarantee her escape. As they ducked into the passage and headed down. "Since the guards were careful to isolate me I must rely on thier knowing tthe way out of this place unfortunately," she thought as he eyes adjusted to the dimming light. She hated not knowing they way out herself since if she lost him she'd have to find the way out herself. If he did he wasn't expendable, if the situation called for it, until she got outside. She needed if he was the despensible one was. The old man seemed plain and perhaps harmless as he turned to her giving her a fatherly smile. She returned it. "Old man do you know if its possible to get out this way?" she whispered trying to sound as innocent as possible. She hoped she was as good at playing heart strings as she used to be. After all she'd been keep in a cel of solitary confinement for a year and a half when she had nearly suceeded in getting a guard to help her escape.
  7. The blonde Hyur girl sat up straight in her isolated cel as she heard the commotion of guards leaving the isolated corridor. Rushing to the heavy door she pressed face against the bars and listened. Her mind instantly alert she peered into the dankness as the footfalls came closer. The figure of a man ran by but he wasn't a guard and Nikkita saw her chance. "Help! Let me out please...." she wailed mornfully as he disappeared passed her and went outside. The girl cursed under her breath but tried not to let her anger surface knowing it wouldn;t win her the prize of freedom. She wasn't about to let this opportunity go by without it so she shouted louder pouring as much desperation as she could into her shouts. If this man was like so many others he couldn't resist a damsel in distress. She was certain her years of isolation would give her a pathtic appearance, just as she was certain she hadn't lost her beauty, she willed herself to muster tears in her blue eyes as she shouted. (yay it will be fun to slip into another version of this character at least for a while. lol)
  8. Ok.... I'm so going to love Doc's ramblings more picturing David Tenant behind them lol. This is a bit hard for me with Nana... but I guess the closest I can think of is Merle Strepe (sp?). On Luralel I think maybe Rachel Weiss lol. Not sure on the other character I have in my head yet though. Nana's Miquote bodyguard is uncertain as to gender etc yet.
  9. Lura shook her head at the barmaid in reply. "No thank you Miss..." She at Myra as she exited and at Doc's flurry of words. She said goodbye to each person as they left and, after finishing her wine, left a modest sum on the table. She wondered if she might see any of these people again or if in the hustle and bustle of Lima Losa she might just become another face in the crowd.
  10. I too love Whiskey Jack.tho As for Luralel I just wanted to roll with a "fish-out-of water", a sort-of "small town girl in the big city", though I have no idea how she's coming across. lol.
  11. Luralel was transfixed by the rambling reply of "Doc", as he wanted to be called, wondering just just how long it would go on. It was nice of him to try and be encouraging on some level though it was in quite a strange way. Myra did a little better job of being encouraging, well at least in less words, though by the end of them she wasn't ready to dart out. "Thank you both then and forgive me if I'm a little unsure as to what to say. As for Alchemy sir, I've practically studied it since birth. It is a tradition in my family to know of Alchemy and Arcane, though I prefer the Alchemy, and be students of the natural world. We are merely a small part of it after all."
  12. Lura nodded to the Gentleman as he left and then glanced around the table. She noted the strained and silent atmosphere and sighed. Being a rather uncomplicated sort of young woman she didn't try to guess what was going through the minds of each person. As far as she was concerned their thoughts were her own and none of her business. Doc seemed sort of content to ramble to himself his thoughts clearly elsewhere. Myra, and Yelcy who had just returned, seemed to have a silent understanding of each other. She was very much feeling like a fish out of water. She really had no idea now why Myra pulled her over there. "I'm sorry I have nothing witty or entertaining to say for you all. I'm afraid I'm a simple girl from an isolated Duskwight Clan. Maybe you would prefer someone else's company." She finished the wine as she said this and prepared to exit.
  13. Well some file isn't installing so I can't run the benchmark apparently....
  14. Lura still feeling a bit uncomfortable since she obviously wasn't as familiar with the world as her companions. She was distracted from this train of thought by the new comer and since the others were speaking of the city, which she knew little, she thought to change it. "Sir can I suggest the use of the term "friends" when addressing a group of mixed company?"
  15. "I'm afraid only passed briefly through Ul'dah, long enough to see and answer an advertisement from the merchant I mentioned, and it wasn't long enough to gain a specific impression other than it seemed very rich and busy. I'm from the outskirts of Gridania so I'm afraid there and Lima Losa are quite foreign to me." Luralel looked between the two. "I'm afraid I don't know much about the merchant either. Have any of you heard of a Nanapriri's Imports and Exports or its owner?"
  16. "I'm an Alchemist and a business woman from Ul' dah just hired me fill orders for her." Luralel turned to Myra and smiled softly. She seemed the scholarly sort, this Hyur teacher, but she seemed to be thinking constantly. Luralel wondered if she too would have to learn to be constantly thinking and manuevering. She sipped the wine hoping that she wouldn't have to completely leave all of her previous existance behind and copy the bustle of the city.
  17. "I was here to finalize a contract with an employer," Luralel said simply and briefly before lifting the glass of wine to her lips. She was glad that it was good tasting and not a poor quality as she expected.
  18. "I'm Luralel Archsadine," Lura said at last " ... and I suppose wine is fine." She listened as the others exchanged a flurry of ideas and information. She didn't know anything about herding techniques, accept when it came to animals, and she was begining to see why her new employer met her there in the first place. The Drowning Wench seemed to be full of people looking for something from others. What better place for a merchant or observer of senient character than this place full of colorful people. "There seem to be a lot of business people here," said by way of observation after Yecly leaned over to talk to Whiskey Jack.
  19. Luralel blinked a couple of times at the Hyur girl standing before her. It would be good to know some of the inhabitants of Lima Losa if she was to live and work in the city. "Hello..." she said smiling. "I think that would be nice. I'm Luralel Archsadine."
  20. Luralel watched the Roedagyn enter and nervously wondered why the Hyur men scattered wondering perhaps if he had a reputation. She didn't move as he walked past and tried not to stare considering he had to be the largest man she had ever seen. Exhaling she began to turn away as he took his order though her sharp ears could tell the barkeeper's action was something amiss. Turning back around she could see from the barkeeper's reaction that he was ready to take the soup back and she looked once again at this man who obiviously needed to consume a large amount to have energy to expend. Luralel sighed and turned around walking to the corner, taking an indescriminate handful of coins from her purse, and she quickly and wordlessly set them on the counter and turned to make a quick retreat hoping she could be a long ways out the door before the large man could protest.
  21. Luralel nearly jumped out of her skin when the Sea Wolf addressed her but it seemed her blundering into a contract already had saved her from his attention. Instead he did pounce on the other Elzen at the counter. She sighed feeling other roving eyes, not being used to the city tavern bustle, and meekly tried to get the barkeeper's attention. She was chagrinned that the other counter occupants seemed to be also. Luralel then at that point decided that if they hadn't noticed the other far more forward people she probably wouldn't get served herself. Abashedly she slid off the stool and looked up wondering just what she should do. She needed that drink more than ever now especially since a lot of people, in particuliar a Hyur woman and the young Hyur man, seemed to be examining all of the other patrons. "Oh Lura what have you gotten yourself into?" she muttered in a soft voice while wondering if leaving her home in search of adventure and greater knowledge was really the best choice. Perhaps adventure was like a wild animal that savagely turned on the unprepared hunter that tracked and cornered it.
  22. Though she didn't really want to be there too much longer the Elzen's nerves had been strung out, and the contract wasn't helping her calm any, she decided to go get a drink at the bar before she left. Her eyes fell on the scene, which she'd have to walk past, and the Alchemist gulped. "Well why would either of them notice me?" she thought. She stood up and walked to the bar averting her eyes as she passed the Sea Wolf and the Hyur man. She purposely walked to the space she saw at the counter.

  24. "Good Choice Kid!" the Lalafell said rolling up the scroll and producing another which the Elzen took a bit tentatively. "Here's your first 3 orders Kid," she said standing up. "I'll send an associate to collect them in 2 weeks." Her business ended the Lalafell waved over her shoulder signalling the M'oquito who nodded and moved to follow closely as they strode past the table which the loud Sea Wolf and the young Hyur. The auburn haired elzen sighed as she was left and sat down in the seat. Unfulring the scroll she squeaked in disbelief of the size of the 3 orders. Maybe she should of read the fine print... Looking up she saw the scene with the loud, large merchant and the young man, who seemed to look her way for a moment, still unfolding. "I wonder if he signed a contract with that merchant he's trying to get out of..." she thought.
  25. Sfant Umbra has a weekly RP night so I guess you don't consider it "active" by your definition.
