I love the curve you've thrown us Daishi. ^^ Here we go. So we don't have to clutter the RP thread and feel free to chat I put this up First off just want to say I'm having fun with you all. Comments. I'm loving Katt and Shamade's characters so far. Since this is the first time I've actually played Nana interacting with anyone I just wanted to ask what you thought of her. Fun to RP with or too over-bearing? I've not tried a character like her before so I'd like to get feedback.

Nana stopped patting his shoulder as she listened to Katt. Katt startled by Nanapariri's response says, "Well, the prize isn't necessary. It's well worth it just getting a chance to try my hand in the kitchen against such fine chefs... assuming all preparations are complete head chef, I think we're ready to start." "Of course the prize isn't necessary Kiddo its just consider it a well earned bonus if you can outshine these fine Chefs." As Nana spoke the silent bodyguard put on the apron and threw the spear over her shoulder. Though she planned to participate she still was on duty after all. Alam was remarkably able to pay attention to more than one thing at once thankfully. Shamad glanced over at Nanapariri. He gathered his courage. "Can I ask you a question?" "Ask away Kiddo" she said wondering just what he had on his mind after such a remarkable attitude change. (I think I'll set up an OOC comment thread so we can keep the ooc comments separate from the RP)

(Omg Daishi lol. Taken me awhile to respond to this) When the Lalafell left it surprise Nana he backed down so easily. Things seemed to be ready to get going on business when suddenly an army of Chefs burst in. As he announced a cooking competition Nana blinked as aprons were shoved at both her and Alam for a moment. "I hope you win ma'am" she heard the young Lalafel say before introducing himself as Tai. She then heard Kat's offer. Nana laughed and patting Tai's shoulder abesently looked at the Chef. "Oh I think Katt has an excellent idea. I'm afraid I'm useless in the kitchen but I do have a descriminating palate. How about I help judge. Alam you can try your hand if you like. Maybe I'll put up a wager say.... 10k gil for the winner? After this we can finish our business since I assure you I don't give hand-outs. If I sponser you then you will have to work your cute little buns off." (Honestly Nana can't even burn water and she won't embarras herself like that but the bodyguard can lol )
-
Nana kept a calm face despite the Lalafell's gall to not even say thank you. She forced a smile as he waggled his eyebrows not wanting to give him the satisfaction of irritation. He definitely was a low-life. Turning toward the Mo'quito she turned on the charm. "Now Kiddo order something..." she turned to the guest Lalafell, "you too just not everything on the menu. I can't have you make decesions on an empty stomach. Some of the worst decisions in history have been made on one. The decision to build that hideous statue outside as a landmark was made on one." She sat back in the chair as her ale was brought. "Now then let's all start with getting acquainted. My name is Nanapariri, owner and operator of Nanapariri's Sundries and Services in Ul'dah and this fine Moon Seeker," she said gesturing to the still silent Mo'quito, "is Alam Nikkto my retainer, body guard and right-hand all around." Alam half-bowed in her chair. "Pleased to make your acquaintance. I'd advise listening to Mistress Nana though she can often be thought of as eccentric," she said in a calm yet worm voice. Nana laughed. "Ah dear Elam you know me so well..." she smiled taking a large swig of ale. "So then what are your names to start with, hmmm?"
-
Seeing that the Elzen was properly helped up by the young Mo'quito Nana was impressed. She had good people skills which was always a good thing that could be cultivated. Seeing the other Lalafellel trying to steal away her prospect to some dive, as she has heard the Wench to be, really made her feel hot under the collar. Waving again to get her attention. "Kiddo the offer still stands," Nana called in a pleasant tone "if you don't want to abandon your little friend he can join us. He just might be bored whil we're talking business." She smiled really hoping he didn't join the Mo'quito, Katt apparently her name was, three at a table was enough.

I want absolute control over my property and earn money form it myself instead of paying people to supervise. lol.
-
Nana watched as the girl ran over to the Dustwight for the first time really noticing the occupants of the table. She smiled at the interaction wondering perhaps if the laughing Lalafel had too much to drink. None of them caught her eye as possible for business other than the Mo'quito.
-
"I don't mean to be rude but I think I heard you mention something about publishing and needing some gil. I'm in the business of investing in talent when I see it..." Nana gestured to a spot at the bench. "How about discussing it a bit over some ale and dinner my treat. What do you say Kiddo?" The Lalafell smiled graciously.
-
Though Nana was leaning at the table, her ears were finely tuned to listen for opportunities, and she zeroed in on the rude Mo'quito that rushed in. "Heyo Kiddo" she waved to the Mo'quito "did I here you say you might need some sponsorship, mmmm?" Nana smiled at the Mo'quito.

Yeah I think we'll see a lot of brooding Highlanders with similiar stories of how the Garleans killed their parents. If an army of Garlean unddead came and took revenge on the living and the once orphan was reunited with his parents in a mass of corpses now that would be original. lol. On a more serious note though I think one of the fun parts of being in a new game is that there won't be any cliches for awhile. You'll be able to boast you were the original pirates before it was in vogue. lol. I'm aiming for characters this go around I hope aren't popular ideas and become cliches. We'll see if I"m also just deluding myself though lol.

I have a comic ideas I've had to put on hold more times than I can count I hope to eventually put out on the web. Until then Rping has been my creative outlet mostly. I've recently started Rping a bit on TOR forum also. Until I get my money situation straight I'll just be forum rping lol.

(lol. I think it will be impossible for Nana to walk into a room and not be noticed. She's very good at making a spectacle of herself. ) After surveying the dusty and sooty surroundings she decided the section near the full table was best. Walking over she examined the bench. "Alam, be a dear and wipe this thing down or we'll ruin our clothes... I'll find a waiter...." spying the woman she waived her over. "Kiddo, two mugs of your best ale and whatever your special is for today." Nana pulled out a gil purse and handed her 2 gil. "This is thanks in advance for your excellent service." Alam pulled a cloth from her sack and wiped the table and bench down as ordered as she observed the other guests. It was hard to know what the Mo'quito was thinking since she wore heavy face paint at the moment. Nana wasn't one to insert herself into large groups or observe her surroundings, Alam was paid to do that. Nana turned and smiled delightely at the clean bench. "Oh that's lovely dear...." Nana climbed into the seat and the Mo'quito took the seat opposite to her" you're the best Alam." "Thank you Mistress," Alam said. "You really ought to take some time to take in the sites here you know." "This city is far too busy-busy ...." she said with a flourish of her hand. "No I'm not one to look at buildings and things. No, I'm here for connections. I have to expand if I'm to show my relatives just who is successful in the family."

Like I posted before some people can breathe new life into cliches. I've rped cliches but I read up a lot on what everyone else was doing with said cliche and didn't copy them exactly. I added my own spin I didn't copy it exactly which in literature is called plagerism. Lucas and everyone used other work, ancient mythe etc, as a starting point. He would've ben cliche if he'd of made Luke's story that of Hercules just changing the names and making it in space but he didn't. Theres is nothing wrong with archtypes or themes but just plain copying another rper since he got attention is cliche. For instance the possession thing one person did it in a shell and did it well and then suddenly tons popped up with it and we had competeing "demons" and it just got into more of an "Epeen" contest ending not well. All because these people copied the first person, the way they behaved etc, and it ruined the first person's character.

"I refuse to share my room with a stranger..." "There really is no other way Ma'am and we will reduce your rate to the normal price.." "I'm not paying FULL price for HALF a room especially when my retainer also has to crowd in with someone else... 3 in 1 room..." she sighed exasperated. "I suppose I'll have to find another place..." "Ma'am I'd appreciate not loosing your business over this unfortunate accident... how's about free food and drink for your entire stay?" Nana considered it, though she really didn't want to share a room with a stranger she would be saving gil on food. "Free food and drink for myself and my Retainer?" The owner sighed. "Alright sounds fair. Why don't you take a seat and enjoy some of that free food until I have things ready and settled." "Very well, thank you for your understanding..." Nana bowed with a smile and turned to look at the condition of the room and if there were any free tables.
-
(Wow you guys were up early, for my time anyways lol) Finally reaching the counter Nana was irritated as a Mo'quito rushed past asking questions and gave a reproving glare to her bodyguard. Before anything could be done she went back to a table so the Lafalell spoke. "Since your establishment seems to be having..." she paused trying to think of a word that would sound nicer than the one she was actually thinking, "trouble tonight I wonder if you still have my room." The woman behind the counter stared at her for a moment before opening the register. "What's your name?" "Nanapariri from Ul'dah and I'm on imporant business," she said. "It looks like the room you were scheduled to have was damaged by the fire so I'm having to ak you to room with another guest tonight." "What!" Nana said in a commanding voice. "I demand better than that I paid a special price for one of your largest rooms!" "We'll refund you the difference Ma'am..."

(Not using a trial character this time since Lura won't be making it ig most likely. I guess I'll have to put up one for Alam too. lol) The merchant stood back crossing her arms over her chest and tapped her foot surveying the damage. The Lalafel grumbled under her breathe "Tsk, tsk, how can they keep open with this disarray. Why I wouldn't be caught dead open if my shop were to look like that..." she looked back up and behind looking at the dark Mo'quito "Alam you think this place is safe to stay in?" The Mo'quito replied. "There certainly seems to be enough people going inside. Its up to you if you want to continue Mistress. You still intend to visit the docks, yes?" The Lalafel heaved a sigh. "I suppose it won't hurt to check... though I hope the crowds don't make it too stifling... so many fools just hanging about to gawk..." With that business woman and up-and-coming Dunesfolk Nanapariri headed towards the Bismark with an air of authority. The Mo'quito followed two steps behind, reaching out ahead of them both with her lance to encourage the crowd to make way, the ever dutiful bodyguard. Nana paused just inside the entrance pinching her delicate nose to save it from the sooty smell and hoping her expensive robes and pristine white hair wouldn't be attacked by the wafting clouds of soot being disturbed by the clean up. Carefully she stepped around the piles heading to the check in counter.

Nikkita grumbled as she saw that she was faced with nothing but ocean in one direction and cliff on the other. Looking up she realized that it might be her only option but she'd have to swim out far enough that the castle wasn't directly above her and hope guards wouldn't be waiting at the top by then. As she started to swim she heard the commotion above and looked up to see two men falling toward the water. She then looked back as she heard something reak through the water and realizing they were guards she started swiming hoping these men wouldn't land too close to her. She still had no choice but to "run" and hope since she had absolutely nothing but her wits as long as she had no magical focus for Thaumatage spells. Hopefully she could use these men to full advantage since there would be nothing worse than going back to that accursed cell. (Edited: Sorry with the talk of ropes I thought they were climbling with ropes. lol)

(Daishi. I was going to wait for Gaelicwarlord to let me know what was outside before posting again. I hope you don't mind but I don't want to make up what the outside is like since its his RP)

(And Btw- The old man is lucky she really didn't have time to think about the situation and that he fell. She really is that cold-blooded. lol. ) Under water she followed the light, only slightly noting the rotting dock below her, until she found the bottom of the wall which thankfully wasn't very far down. On the other side she stayed close to the wall and rose up to the surface gasping for air. Brushing her bangs aside she stopped to take a look at exactly where she was.
-
Nikkita heard the guards coming and cursed under her breath. There was no time to properly insure that the old man wouldn't talk so it was a windfall when he fell. Perhaps he wouldn't say anything if he still believed her to be a frightened young woman running away. Gracefully she hurried down the steps, only slightly slipping twice as ash approached the old man at the bottom. "You can't swim now and they might be able to help you," she said touching his shoulder as she ran by leaving hime with a sad and pained look over her shoulder. "Stay alive old man.." she said approaching the area where it was easiest to enter the water. The cold of the water nearly took her breath from her lungs, her flimsy prison grab giving her hardly any protection, but she swam out toward the far wall that the tide seemed to be coming from. Her hand on the wall she dove down hoping to find the opening on the first try. Trying to hide in the water in the cave with the guards there would be more difficult. (Hel pme here I have no idea how deep or if there really is an exit under there she can find.)

Now that we all know that it will cost 3 dollars for every alt and getting a free storage character who still wants to have one? Once I'm in the position to play I wonder if I'll be able to afford the 2 alts I'd planned so I think I might just have one now. The problem is to decide which of the 3 I have in mind to go with. lol. Anyone else changing plans in regards to alts?
-
(back) Nikkita surveyed the water distastefully. It appeared that the only way out would be to dive down and find the place where the tide was coming in at. Thankfully she could swim, though she didn't like to, this was where she had to decide if the old man would be of any use. If not he might be a useful distraction if they found him drowning. It was too bad she had no time, poisons or weapons to make it a properly painful death when the time came though judging by the look of fear on his face perhaps it at least will be terrifying for him. "Old man, do you know the lay out of the outside? Like where their boats would be kept?"

(I'm really sorry but I hope you don't mind me not posting today. I just found out my dog is having liver failure and decided I'll have to put him to sleep soon. I just can't think straight right now.)
