  1. Character Name: W'chaza Yheli Introduction: Composed, classy, and a character to boot. W'chaza Yheli is a traveler and purveyor of many culinary treats including, but not limited to, tea, coffee, apple tarts, and chocolate. Trained as both a culinarian and a swordsman--an odd combo, to be sure--she knows her way around both a kitchen knife and a blade and uses both with uncanny precision. Despite her appearance and propensity to wear fashionable clothing and robes, she even has a Grindstone victory on her list of achievements. Yheli likes cooking, reading, writing, tinkering--with foods primarily, but sometimes crafts--as well as sweets and exploring. Screenshot:
  2. Kind of a serious question. I've heard anything and everything about Mateus as a second RP server. From Quicksand 2.0 and ERP central... to decent place for newcomers... to even having a Discord which is double if not three times the size of any Balmung RP Discord currently formed in a very short time. Soo yea. Mateus people, how is it over there. The Balmung's wall been going on for 4+ months so far, afterall, and there's no indication about it lifting yet (that I've seen).
  3. If I get lucky, I could probably nab a copy of SolidWorks and build models of items. ...Or do moving parts not exist with furniture in FFXIV >.>
  4. I mean. I wouldn't necessarily assign the problems to just Americans about magically knowing whether or not it's ok to RP with someone and calling them afraid just because they won't walk up to someone. Even in Germany (EU), at a cafe setting (for an example), you use a phrase like "Ist hier noch frei" (Is here free?) to a group of people sitting down at a table already with what appears to be open seats. If they say "Ja" (Yes) or "Ja, hier ist frei" (Yea, here is free), then you're free to take the other spots at the table. If not, then you politely nod, move on, and see about acquiring another table or continue standing around. If they spout some mean nonsense towards you... then politely nod, move on, and see about acquiring another table. It's not just one culture or group of people that may be scared to do this. It's many people. And it's certainly not just one region. It's everywhere, in some form or fashion of a particular magnitude. That's what I think. It's almost what you should expect from a RP community of people who hail from a countless number of backgrounds.
  5. A moogle that shows off its pom just a bit too much. Oftentimes in front of people's faces, but sometimes from a distance. The methods of slutmogging are wide and far and require much practice to know whether or not your regular moggle is, in fact, a slutmog.
  6. Only time I ever had a 100+ queue logging in is right after resets on the weekend.
  7. I should be on between 20 to 23:30 CST today (3 hour queues. What can I do.) to hand out invites. Just send me a PM in-game around that time if I don't get to you then.
  8. Well. Mateus does have the free transfers into if leaving from Balmung *and* is a designated world, so gets those bonuses. And they already have a few RP groups there. Soo...
  9. There isn't (I think?) - BUT! There is an FFXIV EU Roleplayers Discord with a *ton* of people declaring their intent for Omega. EDIT: FFXIV EU Roleplayer Discord - https://discordapp.com/channels/315085611503583233/315085611503583233 You linked a channel, not an instant invite there.
  10. Huh? I've been working on theorycrafting related items for FFXIV, not running events. I have no idea what you're talking about. EDIT: The only thing I've done really for Mateus is basically run some polls, paste some data, and... that's about it? It ain't much, but something. I think he meant Nodem running the Blood Shore, a Grindstone Event. (details here) Ohhh. Gotcha. Anyways, I went through the trouble of pulling out one of my posts simulating the Grindstone a year or so back. If they're interested at all. ...Annnd I'm suddenly realizing I came across a blueprint for an event type. Lawl. Funny how science works. But yea, it basically gives a near-complete rundown of a GS from an engineering/simulation standpoint. EDIT 2: Also, can someone hand me the Discord invite to these Mateus people?

  12. Current forecasts? (And this is my opinion only) I don't think the server's going to be opening up in 2 months at this rate. Or 3. Unless there's some drastic news and changes which allows for transfers without hefty cost to most on Balmung already. But again, guess we have to wait for patch notes, don't we...
  13. Daily reminder that, yes, Balmung is still overpopulated as I'll get out. This time with a census releasing today. 4th column, second to last row. 26,432 in Balmung. Don't see another server past 20k yet either...
  14. Meep meep. Updated just this morning. Census data!
  15. My bet's on Balmung just remaining closed even after 2-3 months. And then a revisit of server designation topics. I mean. Is there an effective way of actually... I don't know. Forcing people to locate off the server? Worst comes to worst and people *really* hate it being overcrowded, we implement the WoW method of homogenization and ridicule. You know. The one where we shun anyone who ERP. Or in this case, perhaps the one where we'll shun any who don't RP. Or ask Square to just split the server. Question is, What's the most effective, disregarding certain concerns, of cutting down server population? (Mainly because I just don't see anyone really moving en masse just yet, or will, based on the attitudes presented in the thread...)
