Saw these when they were announced , woot! grabbed both sets but right now ive only got the ps3 set up. I have my pc background set to cycle thru numerous wallpapers i setup already. Is nice having another set since i was just using the Dynamic Theme from The Last of Us, love that the ps3 batch changed the XMB's icons and has wonderful FFXIV sounds tied in.

Just makes me even more excited! Only thing missing is being hired in at my current job instead of being a temp so i could break out some approved time off or vacation time hah.

for Open beta, maybe cause of being a current account holder n such *shrug* linked it to my primary square enix account.

Speaking of Arcanist and the wonderful Carbuncle, i am REALLY curious what the story is with what they showed on the official ARR page, emerald Carbuncle and Topaz Carbuncle TELL ME MORE! side but related note.. i need to buy that Carbuncle Plushie ive been eyeballing for years

Hmm, perhaps then Arcanists are a bit of a soft mixture between heal/damage? Well we'll just have to find out for ourselves (Which i'm perfectly ok with, need to keep breaking in the new gpu)

Ah so i did recall right. I didnt spend that much time in the last phase of beta, just enough to get in a quick fix, check out the improved character creation and see the wonderful Carbuncles at the lower portion of the Arcanists Guild, my gf created a lalafel and was trying the game out, played more of the beta then I did hah. AH yea thief, that may also be a good one for them to implement then require as 1 of the options for Ninja I will be all sorts of happy to see Ninja and Darknight if they give them to us in the future heh.

In phase 4? pff u kidding, I'll be taking screen shots from Phase 4 well on into and past launch lol. I am sad i may have lost my 1.0 screenshots, had a few decent views. But U can bet I'll be taking fresh ones to commemorate my return AND the new gpu lol

I know what you mean. My character is not a huge axe user. >___<;; Unfortunately I'll have to start as either a PUG or LNC. . n . I can't wait to see what classes/jobs they add in upcoming patches. Im glad that im bringing out my 1.0 character, unless they change something between beta n launch, i was able to shift right off marauder into one of my other leveled classes since i had all my various weapons n gear handy after completing a few of the intro quests. I dont mind the new system as much now with picking a class and that determining where u go, its a good way to break new folks in and all. Am I wrong or does Limsa currently only have 2(w/arcanist) classes while the other 2 cities had 3 classes? Maybe I'm just wrong. Either way I am very excited to see what Arcanist can do in game alongside Carbuncle. I have even(providing I like the sampling I do of the class) Thought of a way to incorporate a Carbuncle into my character story

Awesome, I could use a break from my usual melee style fighting and have been anxious to learn more about the Arcanist and having Carbuncle once again. Even nicer is it gives me somethign I can pick to start in my favorite Citystate from the get go. Never was much for axes 8-)

I was running a solid gpu before hand, even scored High on the exploration benchmark at around 4757 My new 7970 GHz arrived today, while i cant really judge the true performance difference based off the benchmark and that it moved the score up to 6348 - Very High, I'm even more excited for ARR now, cant wait to step into that gorgeous world again. THis has just been a random post due to the joy of a new toy and further excitement for the game launch drawing closer slowly. :moogle:

Seein how things work this time around for class choice at the beginning and all that, I wonder as its been awhile since i made the journey between all 3 City States how difficult it would be to travel to each if needed early on. Hmm don't recall it being overly difficult

Not to be presumptuous, but you may want to check out Unity RP-friendly, LGBT safespace guild with a strong focus on PvE endgame. As far as what I intend to do, I'll level up to 25 as quickly as possible so that I can help get our FC going, and then I'll probably slow down a hair. Find some RP. Do some instances. Take more screenshots (as if the 500+ I have from phase 3 weren't enough). Basically settle into my Eorzea adventure! I did this as well. I wanted to save the storyline for Phase 4/Release. =) I look forward to reading all that I missed. :cactuar: I guess my first goal would be to get my core level job to level 20. Get all the goodies such as... - Airship Pass - Retainer - Chocobo and then dive right into crafting. You can never have to many screenshots, especially out of games as gorgeous as this, im not 100% sure but i think i lost my 1.0 shots I had taken i'll just have to start fresh, and havign ordered tonight a new video card, they are going to look even more amazing <3 I can't wait to have a Chocobo either, even if im getting a mount out of my pre order, still. I cant call myself beign in a FF world without such an iconic companion as a Chocobo. I dont want to rush to get one but it will be my first 'major' goal ill look forward to accomplishing. I was happy to see upon hitting the retainer npc that my 2 1.0 retainers still ..retained their names i gave them albeit with new attire.

I need to find where I read it at, but they're apparently releasing character creation benchmark software Aug 1 or 2 and people can make their characters before the game goes live. It'll save over, too. Gonna try to find a link for it... really? if u are able to find that link that'd be awesome! This would be incredibly handy, as even though I overall liked the base appearance of my 1.0 character I wouldnt mind having prep time to flush out the details before live, I just need to finish off my list of possible name change ideas so i can get one picked out @.@

Well I know once created, or if already made the character can be access on either platform, but for example say on the ps3 when u are creating a character and u can opt to 'save' the character data which then lets u load it when u creat another character on the ps3 version. i hadnt had a chance to check if by doing that if it could be loaded while on the pc version lol Admittedly after seeing someone elses goal it did remind me, i was curious when we could get a chocobo and all that, but im wondering since ill have the mount off the CE if id still have to wait to use it lvl wise or not, but then either way id love to have my own Chocobo, so thats bout the only goal progression wise in levels id see myself setting heh,, but it wont be a rush. I want to get my harvesting and crafting up in at least the main craft choices i had while dabbling in the others . Would like to be able to make some of my own stuff as I progress(which adds to my slow/casual but enjoyable) playstyle heh.. I am looking forward to reacquainting myself with Limsa Lominsa as well. I started there in 1.0(loved the opening) and just loved the feel of the city. I did travel to and scout out the other 2 but something about Limsa , just enjoyed it the most. Man.. i'm going to be so busy just working on my gathering/crafting after i fix up my inventory. Touching on reacquainting with LL, during the last beta i went and scoped out the Arcanist guild location. Despite my usual enjoyment and love for melee and melee/magic type hybrids I am totally going to have to do some Arcanist training, Carbuncle <3

One of the things im glad hasnt changed from 1.0 .. the scenery. While i dabble in several mmos depending on my mood, only a few really possess the setting/scenery to really draw me more into the game when i play. this was one of them lol. everything about the game is wonderful and pretty to look at. I wonder, if i'll b able to find a way to save my character data if tweaking it on the pc, then later if i decide to load up the ps3 if i can load the saved character data cross platform or not.. hmm. as for the UI, i will hit that up in due time, since i plan to tinker with the game on both pc and ps3 i'll have twice the UI to play with. I have no level goals, never have any, never plan to start lol. Everyone will always 'progress' faster then me the way i play. Very casual, enjoy as much as i can as I go, etc heh. This wandering adventure gets more out of the journey then he would by setting a goal at the 'end' of the journey

What will everyone be doing on their first day back once we're live again? Including of course any early access folks? As for myself, being that its been so long since i played in 1.0 and the host of new features i got a glance at last beta weekend, outside of spending a little time making a slight adjustment to my old characters name and maybe some appearance tweaks since we get a free shot at those. I will be spending the first day getting reacquainted with the UI and new features,attempting to organize old 1.0 inventory between myself and the retainers. then maybe do a little fun harvesting/gather and most importantly enjoying the gorgeous game and just wandering about.

caught sight of this earlier today, was pretty awesome, i enjoyed the clothing/gear in 1.0, and this is some pretty slick looking stuff heh, gives me a reason to work on more of my crafting besides my alchemy/smithing and goldsmithing heh

Ah good to know, I liked the ones I picked. Will we still be limited to 2 initially once ARR launches? ive been pulling extra hours at work and have to come in quite early tomorrow morning as well so ive not been able to really jump into this weeks beta

So then.. wouldnt this mean that its going to be different then it is now in beta? I was on my 1.0 character who i thought was closer to lvl 15, but came out in beta at lvl 11, once i did the first couple of simple intro quests in Limsa with Baderon I was able to shift out of Marauder and to other classes as i had lvled other classes during 1.0 and had all my gear still on hand.

Its a nice idea, but im not sure I like it. Granted it probably is partially due to coming out of 1.0 and just grabbing whatever class and then choosing a city state accompanied by wonderful opening cinematic lol. The new opening is cool too don't get me wrong but I was partial to Limsa Lominsa. While its a bit 50/50 in terms of liking the new starting method now overall its not a huge issue since we can just get hold of whatever weapon for whatever class we'd prefer to 'start' as and just change up early on after beginning our new adventures. In my case my old 1.0 character had several already on hand in my inventory so its minor. Just a random bit of beta banter

I was enjoying lookin at the belongings in my 1.0 characters on hand inventory(discovering also this new armoury option) and then thought.. oooh where are my 2 wonderful faithful retainers i was trying to gather materials for and craft dream clothing and kabuto helms for) I havent had a chance on pc or ps3 when poking around the current beta to find out, but what has become of our old 1.0 retainers?

I hope that a few months or so post launch the ps3 version will get something incorporated for screenshots. I'll be playing on both platforms but it would be handy.

Woo, my 1.0 character, how long it has been, aaaahhhh Granted I dont entirely like that the only initial option to start in ol Limsa is to start as a marauder but since its my original character somewhere in storage should be all my excess class gear so thats an easy fix. yay beta!
