1. I should start doing this for creative writing! I think it'll be posted on my tumblr, or I'll create an IC blog... hmmm...
2. Hi, I recently managed to get a keyboard for my PS4! So I've decided to break into RP in earnest, though only light-medium RP for now since I'm still pretty focused on leveling and the story. So a little about Victorique. She is a Duskwight Elezen in her late teens. Originally, her family is from Gridania but due to the situation there they moved to Coerthas long before she was born. Her mother was a travelling bard, and often told Victorique of the places she had visited. These tales enchanted Victorique and she resolved to follow in her mother's footsteps. Hence why she is becoming a bard. (More on here wiki here) Right now, she can most likely be found in Ul'dah as that is where her adventure has taken her. I'd be interested in joining a Free Company, or just having someone on the friend list to RP with. Please feel free to PM me or leave a reply here. Thanks!
3. Main Character's Name: Victorique Fierlaine (Duskwight) Brief description: Here Usually online: Afternoons, evenings GMT+00:00 Intensity:Light- Medium
4. Thank you! It's amazing how different it is already. So many FC invites! Welcome! You have more luck than I, I'm still looking for an FC It's those random ones that people just send with no context. Not really what I'm looking for personally
5. I. Basic Info Characters:Victorique Fierlaine Primary character:Victorique Wiki: Here Linkshells:N/A Primary RP linkshell:N/A [*][*][*][*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light-medium since I will be focusing on levelling to 50 with at least one job. Once that it done I suppose it will be Med-Heavy. Though I am still open to heavy RP if we can talk about it first. Generally around town I will be IC, but Duties and Dungeons etc will be OOC since it's far less hassle. Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't mind combat if it's necessary, but Victorique won't go looking for a fight and she will always try to talk her opponent down first. Views on IC romance: I'm all for it, but please no ERP. OOC boundaries have to be respected as well, and I really wouldn't like people walking up to me and asking to date my character. I think IC romance should happen on it's own terms if the player feel a bond between their characters. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I'd love to be part of a family group, or clan because of my character's background. Friends are always welcome too. Views on lore: I love the lore and try to stick to it as much as I can. But I really don't mind other people bending it, or adapting it to suit their needs. Also, since I didn't play 1.0 I only have what I've learned so far to go on, so if I get anything wrong please correct me. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Kinda necessary...? Sorry... Usually I am IC on /say, but will go OOC on tells and FC, unless it is an RP specific company. [*][*][*][*][*][*] III. 6. 1. Would you be interested in joining a Elezen Rper directory? If so, post: Elezen Name: Victorique Fierlaine Elezen clan: (Duskwight) None yet Gender: Female Timezone: GMT Looking for?: Medium RP, with some OOC dungeons and possibly levelling (since i'm only 15 on my Archer and 2 on my Conjurer). Walk-up RP. Wiki Link: Victorique Fierlaine 2. Does your character fit the 'common' lore of your elezen or are they singular? (Eg. Raised by hyur so does not understand X or Y = singular) They fit the common Duskwight lore, but definitely not the "criminal and theif" stereotype. 3. What are your Rp limits, if any? (Eg: no permadeath, no ERp etc) Please no permadeath, and I don't mind IC romance but I'm uncomfortable with ERP. Mind you OOC boundaries have to be respected too. I can't really think of any more, but I would like to point out that I'm on a PS4 but should be getting a keyboard attachment, or a wireless keyboard and mouse soon.
7. Thank you! It's amazing how different it is already. So many FC invites!
8. Never mind! Tranfer to Balmung is complete!!
9. edited the first question since I have submitted my application and had confirmation
10. Hey, so as you can probably guess I'm looking to transfer worlds to Balmung. However Square Enix doesn't really go into detail about the process so I'm asking here. How likely is it that I'll actually get onto Balmung? Roughly, how long does it take before I can start playing again? Do optional items that have been retrieved carry over? I've just had my confirmation email saying "Thank you for using the FINAL FANTASY XIV Mog Station. This e-mail has been sent to inform you that your World transfer application for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn has been has been successfully processed. You can now log in and enjoy the game." but on logging into the Mog Station and the Lodestone my characters information hasn't updated. Is this normal or have I not yet been transferred?
11. Given how different the clans are in-game (specifically The duskwight and the wildwood since that is what I'm looking at specifically), I wonder how common it is for them to cross paths, and more importantly get along at least enough to engage in intercourse. For Miqo'te I could see it being quite common since the males wander, and I believe they'd be more concerned with possibly producing male offspring than whether or not they actually like the male. For another race such as the Elezen I could see it being much rarer due to the nature and animosity between the two clans. Though this is not to say that two individuals could not produce a child because obviously people within a certain group do not all share the same mindset. I just think it would be rarer in this case. Also, given how different the clans look, I wonder who they'd take traits from. Many people have suggested that it might be like Elder Scrolls/Pokemon where the traits are inherited from the mothers, which only a few things being passed down from the father. I think this would be a good way of looking at it, since we can't really determine it unless Sqeenix give us more lore. (Which is insanely doubtful because who else other than RP'ers goes into in-depth discussions about the genetics of a race in a game because it's fun?)
12. I posted earlier that I'd like to sign up E'rhina, but now I'd like to sign up Victorique Fierlaine instead. She's a Dusky and I'll edit with her wiki page soon. Edit: wiki link in in my signature for both characters
13. Character Profile- E'rhina Dinhe Race: Miqo'te Gender: Female Clan: Seeker of the Sun Age: Late teens- early twenties History: Within her tribe she was well respected, thanks to her skills with a bow. Though she felt her skills paled in comparison to the heroes she so often heard the elder members talk about. She also has a family history of conjury, though not formally trained herself she still aspires to one day become a competent healer in her own right. Hence she resolved to journey and become a bard. So with permission from the Elder, she set off for her own adventure. Though this was not without its own challenges, as she did not know where to start her adventure. Eventually she found herself in Gridania after hearing word of an archery guild, and so began her journey.
14. I. Basic Info Characters: E'rhina Dinhe, Victorique Sondraix (transfer pending) Primary character: E'rhina Dinhe Linkshells: N/A Primary RP linkshell: N/A [*]II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light-Medium. Will be medium once I level up some more. Maybe branching into heavy depending on how invested in the RP I become. Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't mind RP combat or injuries. However, I'm not going to portray E'rhina as looking for a fight all the time. It just doesn't fit her character. Injuries are fine so long as it's nothing that's unrecoverable like losing a limb. Also, no permadeath please. Views on IC romance: OOC boundaries definitely apply to this one since I'm in a relationship and don't want anything to be construed as cheating. As long as that is respected I'm okay with it, and will take it as it comes. I suppose what I wouldn't appreciate is someone walking up to me and just straight up asking to date my character (IC and OOC), though I don't think that would happen. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I'm all for having a family/tribe, that applies to both of my characters (Though Vi isn't actually real yet). Larger groups are okay as well, though I would probably take more of a back seat. Views on lore: I love the lore, and I personally try to stick to it. Though at the same time I don't mind people adapting it to fit their character. I will certainly be doing that with Victorique. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Erm...Great? They're kind of necessary after all for RP. I don't mind RP'ing in the /say function or a linkshell. But I would prefer to keep OOC interactions seperate or at least in ((brackets like this or whatever it is you lovely people choose to do on here)) [*]III. Other Info Country: United Kingdom Timezone: GMT Contact info: PM me on here or in-game. My PSN (since i'm on PS4) is Wounded_Night64 so just send me a friend request with a little message. Maybe if I form some OOC connections I'll give my email or Skype of something. [*][glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]
15. I love that they're rolling out content so quickly, as opposed t just fixing bugs and leaving everything to the expansion.
16. I'm currently having this same issue, though it may be that I'm a european player with a lot of free time, so it's pretty empty in Gilgamesh when I log on about midday. I was considering transferring my alt to Balmung, so I had one on each server. Then I could see how it was and maybe transfer my main after a while. Overall it just seems like the Balmung community is far more active and open. Contrarywise, I also read in a thread that as Balmung is a legacy server there are far more people that have played 1.0, and since I haven't I don't know if it would make a difference or not.
17. I'd be interested in signing Mhria up for this, she isn't my main (Yet....) but she's more the type to actually sit and write letters, whereas E'rhina just...isn't. I think I would rather not be anonymous, since it could lead to some interesting RP oppotunities for my girl.
18. I have my Miqo'te as an archer currently, and I doubt I'll be investing into the heavy classes/jobs. This is simply because he just looks so dainty. I can't really imagine her swinging a huge axe around, or wielding a sword and shield. However, if they were to introduce a kind of Musketeer class, who would use a rapier instead I think I could imagine that with E'rhina. For now she will be a bard, but I'd like her to have White Mage, Summoner, Black Mage, possibly Dragoon, and definitely at least rouge, if not ninja. For my Keeper, she'll be forever a spellcaster. Though I may have her pick up bard at some point. She just seems a tad more refined than my Seeker, and has a less of a necessity to know how to use weapons.
19. I've heard good things from Moogle (it's an EU world, so far less people speak English), but even they say that Gilgamesh and Balmung are THE places to be. From a personal point of view, although I play on Gligamesh for now, I am thinking about transferring to Balmung depending on how it goes. In my opinion, if you're going to enjoy that server more, and it will be better for you as a player or you already have friends on that server, it's worth the one off fee. Also, I've only seen Balmung open once since I got the game and that was for all of 5 minutes at roughly noon (GMT).
20. Hello! I just dived into the world of Hydaelyn and can't wait to start RP'ing once my character is a bit more fleshed out. So a little bit about me following the template... --MMORPG background For me this is mainly World of Warcraft, however I have also dabbled in Guild Wars 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and . I left WoW because it became a chore for me. The community wasn't there and there was no organisation in terms of RP. I think that maybe I had a bad run with RP there, as there were a lot of people trying to control my character and her story. It was just terrible... --RP experience I have RP'ed before, in both small and large groups. For a while it was just one friend and I, so we learned the basics together. However, once we got into larger groups and made more connections it became far more enjoyable. As for games, WoW has been my largest RP venture, going so far as to form a small but successful RP guild. Alas, that has since been disbanded as many people involved stopped playing with the new expansion. I have not yet RP'ed in FFXIV, but I sincerely look forward to it. Outside of MMO's I have RP'ed quite a lot (whether that is text based or a conversation over the phone), and it has become a primary hobby of mine for the last five or so years. --Character ideas/info My main character is on Gilgamesh, as I haven't played 1.0. I felt that server would be better for me personally -and Balmung is almost always closed. Since this is being created as the opening cutscene plays (grabbing screenshots as I go), she is my only character thus far. E'rhina Dinhe She is a quiet and reserved Miqo'te, and although she is still young she possesses an inner maturity not many people expect of her. Within her tribe she was well respected, and had a decent amount of authority for someone so young. She was also well respected for her ability with a bow, though she felt her skills paled in comparison to the heroes she so often heard the elder members talk about. She also has a family history of conjury, though not formally trained herself she still aspires to one day become a competent healer in her own right. Hence she resolved to journey and become a bard. So with permission from the Nuhn, she set off for her own adventure. Though this was not without its own challenges, as she did not know where to start her adventure. Eventually she found herself in Gridania, and so begins her journey. Personality wise, she is quiet and mature. Though perceived as somewhat of an introvert she can be quite different among the people she calls her friends, and takes joy in the less serious moments of her journey. Mhira Nbolo A gentle and kind spirit, she will help anyone she can. Though usually quiet, she is uncharacteristically outspoken if she disagrees with something. Unfortunately this led to a conflict within her clan when a wounded Hyur was brought to them. They mistrusted him, and sadly sent him on his way despite Mhira's objections. She left them to find her own way in the world, as wrong as it felt to her at the time. She believed she didn't have a place their yet. Eventually she ended up in Gridania, under the tutleage of Brother E-Sumi-Yan of the Conjurer's Guild. To interact with she is generally quiet and will listen more than talk, but once she has warmed up to you she can be quite chatty. She tends to speak to strangers quite formally. Although reserved she will go out of her way to help anyone who needs her. (She isn't fully fleshed out yet, so I can't really write much other than her backstory.) --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I suppose it would be light at first, but eventually going into medium/heavy. That will be once I get initial leveling to 50 out of the way. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) I am an aspiring writer, and am currently in college. I would love to make some OOC connections here too, since it's always great meeting new people. Since I'm playing on the PS4, if anyone wants to add me on PSN feel free, my ID is Wounded_Night64
