The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Wild Card replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Or, you know, because maybe ppl don't like carrying someone who doesn't know even the most basic shit about the job he's playing. -
I'd tend to say "she's a good loser", but I guess losing on purpose kinda makes the whole "fighting" thing obsolete. Irie will not win against anyone (at least not any PCs). Even if she can easily beat them, she either won't accept the challenge or lose on purpose, because she doesn't want anyone to know about her abilities and skills. She'll just quitely admit her defeat and congratulate. And then go out into the desert and kill something big and ugly.

OMG! Really!? Is it gonna be only the base game or incl. the addons? Cause they were amazing!

Unfortunately not always 100% accurate. Might need to slightly adjust the colors after the first change, but in the end it's the best tool for bird coloring.

http://i.imgur.com/uOOiwIj.png[/img] This. I designed it myself and it's been my signature for over a decade by now. My characters in PnP usually have this tatooed on their left shoulder blade. It's less about personality and more about being one of my creations, tho.

I realized a few weeks ago that I only preordered two games in the last two years. Both are from SE and one is gonna be released in 10 days lol But srsly, no I don't preorder. First of all I'm a greedy whore, which means I try to buy discounted games or find a pre owned copy. For that I'm patient, I don't have to play them right at the release. Secondly, I'm done paying for Beta testing. I'm done paying for unfinished and overhyped games that turn out to be massive disappointment. AC Unity, The Order: 1886, Evolve, Destiny, etc. The list is way too long by now. All those games were imo not worth the money they were sold for.

FFXIV Fan Gathering, Frankfurt am Main (Germany)
Wild Card replied to Wild Card's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I'm pretty sure there're gonna be more gatherings like this, since ppl are definitely interested. We're already at the 30 participants mark with some time left till the end of registration. -
Hello everyone ~ I got permission of a mod to post this here, it's a little announcement for a community meeting that is gonna take place in Frankfurt (Germany) on March, 21st. It's mainly targeting german players who visit this forum (I hope there are any ), thus it's not translated in english. So brace yourself, a lot of very angry sounding german sentenses are coming (of course if you still have any questions, feel free to ask them here). F.A.Q.

1. Your character gets judged! What stereotype do other students see them as? (Nerd, jock, etc.) The lone weirdo. 2. Your character gets an A+! What class(es)? Sports! All kinds of sports. 3. Your character fails a class. Boo! Which one(s)? Anything even loosely related to crafting or arts. And if you want you school to not suddenly fuckin explode or burst out in fire, never ever let Irie into the chemistry room. 4. What sorts of people gather to your character? Are they popular or a loner? The non-existant ones. Srsly, she'd be avoiding social contacts like a plague. 5. Your character goes to future career counseling! What is their ideal job!? Err.... maybe, something small, somewhere far away... Oh, I know! A lighthouse keeper on an island! That sounds great, doesn't it!?...Doesnt..it? *coughs*

How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch?
Wild Card replied to Dat Oni's topic in Character Workshop
Yup, that's about right. She'll try to create as much space as possible between her and the person who tried to touch her. And prob. look at them as if they were tired of life. (the image belongs to snaillords on deviantart) -
The female voice from this song: http://miracleofsound.bandcamp.com/track/dream-of-goodbye-2 (starts at about 0:46) I figured, since Irie really is a brad she's prob got a good singing voice.

Your character's OOC nationality.
Wild Card replied to ChewableMorphine's topic in Character Workshop
Fixed (it was in invifinitive, I changed it to second plural) Irie is spanish. Even tho most of her hotblooded attitude'd left her due to previous experience, she still has some of it burried deep inside and come up to the surface very now and then... especially when someone tries to flirt with her. -
For someone who's trying to attract as little attention as possible, it's very embarracing to suddenly become the center of attention, because she doesn't know something that is concidered general knowledge. And since Irie's supposedly born and raised in Eorzea, she sure should know the names of the Twelve or who the primals are, right? So when ppl notice her lack of the most basic knowlege about the most simple things in everyday life, she has to come up with some more or less acceptable excuse. And most of the time it yields her many weird and confused glances.

Irie is bad bad bad bad at crafting, any kind of it. Trying to teach her even the most basic recipies is like trying to teach an whale to perform a tango. It will result in pain and blood for all participants.

Traveling Realms in a Realm Reborn: Character Ports
Wild Card replied to Hiro's topic in Character Workshop
Tbh I don't know. I NEVER give my character any abilities or achievements I didn't actually aquire ingame and since I actively do endgame content, even without world travel my char is a friggin Rambo by now, so the whole "overpowered" argument becomes imo kinda, dunno, weak. I think it depends on the game and the way you do it. I had a small campaign runnig for a while with a couple of friends. We were playing multiplayer games and kept "transfering" our characters from one game to another. Everytime it happened they lost all their abilities, but kept the memories of the previous worlds (and became rather cynical over time lol). Basically it was a group of travelers, who were trying to get back home, but everytime they were thrown into a new world, they instantly got involved into some shit. As for my FFXIV character, it was transfered from FFXI. The games are similar enough and have pretty much the same races, so it was really easy to transfer her. In XI my main job was Blue Mage, for those not familiar with the XI lore: Blue Mages in FFXI were also called the Immortal Guards. They were the elite forces of the empire of Aht Urhgan and the protectors of the Empress Nashmeira II. What nobody knew though was that most of them were adventurers, who came to Aht Urhgan seeking their fortune. Lured into a trap deep within Aydeewa Subterane, they were kidnapped and became subjetcs to cruel experiments and brainwashing. The alchemists of Aht Urhgan implanted them the Ahriman lenses, allowing them to absorb the life essence of their defeated enemies and learn their skills. Allowing them to use Blue Magic. Even though the emperial alchemists were the best in what they did, only few people survived the experiments and even less survived what came after. Absorbing vast amounts of monster essence drove many of them to madness. It took controll over them and eventually horribly deformed their bodies, transforming them into Soul Flayers. The few remaining ones eventually became the Immortal Guards under the command of captain Raubahn. And so did Irie. With the help of her friends she managed to stabilize her condition and keep her sanity. But after a series of events she left the Empire and traveled far away to a distant continent... She layed down her scimitars and the Immortal Guard attire, put on some old adventurer cloths and after a long journey arrived in Limsa Lominsa. There she enlisted in the Culinarian Guild and tried to stay as far away from fighting as possible. Mostly because she didn't want to get involved into anything similar again, but also because she was becoming unstable. But eventually it was the same reason that made her pick up adventuring again and look for a way to get rid of the Ahriman lenses. But yeah, then again I'm not sure if this counts as "real" world traveling. I think, I did it, because I just loved FFXI lore so much (and Aht Urhgan expansion in particular) that I didn't want to part with my char.
