  1. Cold weather because it's easier to put on layers, but it's harder to cool down. Consoles or PC?
  2. And I thought I was the only one who was obsessed with the way Jihl looked. Honestly the only part of FFXIII I liked. And YES to anything from FFXII, I loved that game to death.
  3. Serylda has a very slight fear of heights, that she deals with but still can get the better of her depending on the situation. I can't help but feel she won't handle flying mounts very well at first, but will probably force herself to adjust. Just like someone else said, I think the bigger the better. As long as she can't see the grown below, she generally won't get anxious.
  4. I'll try to see if I can make it. : )
  5. Very cute, I'll PM you details if you'd be interested in making me one. c:
  6. What I ended up doing was creating my character on another server, then transferring. It cost $18 but has so far been totally worth it for me. That is one of the easiest ways to get there, but as I've said, it does cost money. I guess it just depends on how much you want to be in the server, whether you'd rather wait till 4 am with the possibility of getting in, or just get in right away with a price.
  7. I've done a few cosplays in the past, no really new ones recently. But my last one was Xion from Kingdom Hearts which I put together two years ago but redid last year:
  8. Whether drawn or taken in game, do any of you have photos of those you consider your family? This could be anything from just friends you associate with as family, to marriages, to just father/mother/siblings/etc.
  9. Serylda's largest flaws are probably how compassionate she feels about everything, and how oblivious she can be. She has a big heart, so killing often isn't always something easy for her to do. Her obliviousness to things can often cause her to be too trusting of people or not really notice obvious things. A perfect example of this is how she hadn't even noticed her parents growing tension toward her for over 6 years. She's not an idiot by any means, she's actually very intelligent considering she lived within an aristocratic household. She can just be a tad slow with things and often very emotional. However she is aware of these issues, and actively tries to overcome them. These issues are partly to blame from an aether imbalance she has due to having dark magic directly casted on her when she was a child. She lived obviously, albeit with some scars and memory loss, things like that tend to never leave people the same. I would never go as far as labeling her as mentally challenged, she can function perfectly fine on her own and has no other issues otherwise. She is just as stated, oblivious/over-emotional.
  10. Sery hopefully can make it, Limsa is where she grew up and her patron god is Llymlaen, so I'm sure it'd be a lot of fun to take part in the event.
  11. Serylda gets rather quiet when she's drunk. It's not something she really does a lot, so it typically makes her sleepy and slightly grumpy.
  12. Serylda Troklas: Sare-RIL-dah Troke-liss (Her name was originally supposed to be Troklos, but I have otherwise went away from that) I've found people will often shorten it to Sery, and just call her that. Whether she is okay with it or not, is kinda w/e.
  13. Serylda may have been raised to disregard the death of those around her without remorse like her Ishgardian adoptive blood, however the compassion in her heart inherited by her real kin was never something she could easily keep from surfacing. - How does your character deal with killing? She deals with it with the mindset of "it must be done." Everything she does is in the name and honor of her foster family. However this does not change the fact she does not like killing, and that she thinks very highly of life. She tries very hard to avoid this, but she will almost always tear up over having to kill a human or a beast after the deed is done. Her heart is far large than the steel she wields, proving to be a large weakness of hers. She also deals with each kill by writing the name/being/appearance of whom she took down. - How did your character feel after his/her first kill? Probably one of the few, if not only, times she ever really broke down. She was made to kill a mere rabbit, and yet she felt as if her duty far out ranged her abilities and emotions. She worked to overcome that, so she could also prove that she was just as worthy to hold the duty of being the chosen Dragoon of their clan as her brother. She has since come a long way. - Does your character mull over it later on? (Exe. The nightmares) She killed beasts long before she had ever killed any humans, and in those times when she was still just a child, she did find that those she ended would stay in her thoughts. When she was much younger, she would have nightmares on the beasts she killed, her guilt practically consuming her. Her family, wanting to obviously try and help her overcome this, gave her a journal to record who she killed. They stated that in Ishgard, for those who would struggle with keeping a calm mind in the midst of these situations, they needed a place other than their mind to keep these thoughts so they could focus on their priorities. This method was typically used among very young Ishgardian children; however seeing as she was not of their blood, being detached was not a trait that could be easily obtained if not already inherited/learned by mid teens. She has since recorded every kill she has had to commit. She has come far where she feels little remorse for killing smaller beasts, but still writes the names [if she was able to learn their name] and appearances of any humans or large beasts she takes down. She considers this her way of honoring them, so they would not be forgotten.

    Hello!

I am still pretty new myself , but the people I have met so far have all been very friendly and I was able to find a group to be a part of. Also if you ever need someone to talk with, I'd be more than willing to keep you company. Hopefully you are able to have a good experience here on RPC and in FFXIV as well!
  15. I currently find myself listening to this a lot: UGugMrRqioc
  16. Serylda has a very mixed background. Though it's mostly in her family name and not in blood, this definitely makes things very strenuous for her between her actual kind: The Highlanders [whom she more or less dismiss as being her "kind", due to having been raised by a Midlander family] and the kin she affiliates with, the Ishgardians [who are known to be prejudice to non-Ishgardians, making the fact she is adopted not really something they accept]. I guess you can justify her being in certain place, because she doesn't really have a set place she belongs to to begin with.
  17. I really appreciate everyone giving me their advice, thankfully a nice fellow that also browses this forum picked me up very recently for his RP group, so thankfully I now have a place to be. Thank you guys again for your suggestions, I had originally went to Quicksand with little to no luck, but I wasn't alone for very long.
  18. I've been really excited about eventually transferring to Balmung to take part in the RP, and I finally got the money to do it today. My biggest problem now is, I don't really know where to start ehehe. It's been so long since I've taken part in such involved RP, is there somewhere I should go to get started? Any help would be really appreciated
  19. I apologize for the double post, but I just wanted to add that I updated my original post to show how my pricing work for anyone interested. You won't find this on my dA page, so I wanted to make it easier for people to access.
  20. Thank you! And that would be amazingly appreciated.
  21. Serylda's adoptive family's origins stem back to Ishgard, mostly gotta due with Dragoon duty. :^)
  22. Wow, it's pretty cool that you've seen it around, I'm honored! Much appreciated friend, I'm glad you find my art good enough to spend on. Aw thank you so much!

  24. Thank you all! It's a pleasure to be here. I am planning on transferring to Balmung soon, considering there is a good 10% of other folks who are not in the server or Gilgamesh, and do not have the time or patience (honestly) to re-level my character or log in early in the morning. If I do not do it tomorrow, I'll probably do it later this week. It'd be nice to meet any of you if possible, and maybe get a feel for how the RPing in this game goes. I haven't done this in so long, I am afraid I am probably a bit out of practice. So I might need to shadow a bit hehe.
