Ahhh, thank you Shado! You're like way too nice to me, pls Ooh, I like her a lot! I'd definitely be up for her at Natsu having met before. She'd be so happy just to find someone she knew again, even if they hadn't know each other well. Shoot me a PM if you're still interested and we can set something up! The more the merrier! Him knowing her family could actually be super interesting for things and reasons. I don't want to go into a whole lot here, but I think these two could be a good fit for RP, so ping me if you're still interested! I'd be up for a chef! Give me a poke in a PM and we can work things out!

Well then it's either a battle of the onsen owners or a very lovely visit in which Natsu brings Doman tea and and a thoughtful gift. Japanese storytelling norms almost require it to be both, though circumstances determine whether it's punch and pie followed by punch and punch, or the opposite. Sena's place is on the outskirts of Gridania, though advertisements for her inn (and its amenities) do extend into Ul'dah. Conceivably, a newly arrived Doman might be curious enough to board an airship, if only to see a foreigner's concept of the comforts of her homeland. Ooh, I think she most certainly would be. I'll have to throw her your way. Thank you! Hopefully we'll bump into each other sometime.

“I do not think it is so strange. Would not more time spent like this create a greater peaceful state of mind for most?” The Raen next to you asks in an airy voice, her tone even. Three hours, she had told you. Three hours of the day dedicated to meditation for a “restful soul”. Why had you decided to join such a strange girl found alone in the oasis? She sits just as you had found her; feet tucked under thighs, hands folded in her lap, and eyes closed as she brings in slow, barely noticeable breaths. Had she not greeted you, you might have almost thought she was statue, and an extremely detailed one at that. Such care would have had to been put into shaping the scales, the— “It seems so many forsake the care that’s needed from themselves.” Ah, right; she’s speaking to you. Best pay attention. She frowns, a near wince, as the mere mention of others in pain seems to pain her as well, but slowly her expression softens. “But Eorzea seems to be a very abundant place, yes? It has healed its own wounds. Despite its turmoil, its people are so very bold and proud. They are loud and open, even in their humblest of ways. It is very different from my home.” With her eyes closed, it is impossible to see the nostalgia they hold, the longing. Her own words silence her for a moment and perhaps you wish to speak for her, to offer words in return, but she begins once again before you can. “It is different,” She repeats. “But it is good. I do not know if I will ever truly understand the ways and customs of this land, but,” She opens one eye to glance at you with bright smile, one holding hope, wonder, and delight. “I think I am growing to like it very much.” About the character: Natsumi Sensui is a 21 year old Raen and, yes, another Doman refugee trying to acclimate to Eorzean society. Bright and bubbly, she is fascinated by the new culture that surrounds her. Having arrived only a moon ago with her prickly and overly-protective companion, Hiroshi Yukimura, one has to wonder why it's only just now that she's decided to flee her homeland. More curious is her recent ownership of a small onsen and how she managed acquire it so quickly. Still, even with questions unanswered, her shining personality is almost enough to make people stop asking. Almost always smiling and with curious eyes, she does her best to adapt to her new situation without abandoning her culture, or the strict code her family has raised her to live by. Strange it is to most, only being allowed to eat rice and needing to dedicate such a large amount of time to dedication, but she has always been quick to assure others that she is perfectly happy abiding by such rules. Well, most of the time. While a bit naive and overwhelming polite, she isn't easy to take advantage of. She certainly tries to see the best in people, and never assumes on way or the other about the individual, she's wise enough to look out for herself and those she cares for. Still, she'll easily forgive and is always willing to help those in need, regardless of her personal feelings towards them. She can often be caught staring at people as she tries to learn more about them without having to worry about interrupting or bothering them. Sometimes she'll even stare at nothing at all as her mind has a tendency to wander. Meeting new people and learning more about the world seems to be her only desire, and it leaves her chipper, giggly, and with enough warmth to bring rain to Ishgard. tl;dr another lizard out of water who happens to be Moe AF™ About the player: Hello! My name is Rachel and I'm a 24 y/o cis female living in The Middle of Nowhere, Texas. Some of you might have known me when I played Luha Dalaan a while back, who has since been retired as a character. It's been a while since I've really been on the RP scene, so I'm hoping to jump back in! I'm still trying to catch up with the MSQs post Heavensward, so half the time I'm on, it'll be to run that and catch up on other content. The other half is when I'll probably be RPing, so hopefully you'll see me around! Connections: So these come in two flavors, if that wasn't obvious. For past connections, there's tons of ways our kiddos could have known each other back in Doma, but considering Natsumi's character arc things, we'll need to talk some things out. What I can say here is that here family owns a large onsen/inn in the mountains, one that Natsumi has helped run all her life. Childhood friends? Perhaps your character had stayed there once? Did her family help them hide out from the Garlean authorities at some point? The possibilities are endless, my dude. For new connections, hit me with whatever you've got. Natsumi hasn't left Thanalan since arriving, so she's mostly seen around Ul'dah, at her mini-onsen in the Goblet, or in Central/West. Walking up to her while she's meditating as above, coming into the onsen, or just bumping into her in the city, I'm open to anything. I also don't really have a set "type" of character that I'm looking to RP with, so if you think we'd match, let me know! Various things worth knowing: -You know those RPers who think romance and ERP are the only point of RPing? Where they think it's the endgame? Where they can't RP with a character of their own's preferred gender without making it flirty/sexual tension-y? Yeah, not a fan. -I prefer paragraph form. They don't have to be long, or even "full" paragraphs, but just something that describes your character's perspective and actions better than IG emotes. Example: "Luha Dalaan grips the edge of table with her free hand, her knuckles growing more and more white with each word the Seeker spits. She glances at him from under the brim of her hat with poison in her eyes and sneers, "What was that you said, friend?" paints a much better picture than "Luha Dalaan: u wot m8" -Yeah, I like to stand around the QS. Fight me. -Do you have a cool idea? Do assholes tell you to ditch it because it's not strictly canon to the lore? Tell me about it and we can fight the system together. -Angst or fluff? Fluff or angst? Yes. -I love deep and intricate plots just as much as I love obligatory beach/party/bar/wacky adventure scenes. -Edgelords beware: my precious flower lizard has a 99% change of smoothing all edges with a 5milm radius. You have been warned. -And take that nasty fedora off. -You would be very drunk if you took a shot every time I said onsen so far. -tbh once i'm comfortable with you, this is going to be a lot more honest to how i type OOC so you should probs be okay with that -Keep the bork meme strong, fam. Contact: Assuming you're still reading (and bless you if you are), you can shoot me a PM here for give me a poke in game. That's Natsumi Sensui, folks. I hope to hear from you, and if not, hopefully you'll find what you're looking for on here! (secondary thing: if you wanna use the way-too-often-mention-onsen for anything, let me know! No RP connection required)

Volana Rhouzan "Do you know what most people tend to forget about this job?" The Keeper before you leans back from the bulwarks, allowing her weight to hoist up one of the sails of her clipper as her body tips back towards the sea. "Professionalism. The stereotype of a smuggler is all well and good; a dashing rogue passively rejecting society's authority by selling illicit goods in the ever seediest of allies in the dark of night. An exciting protagonist by anyone's standards." With the dexterity of any miqo'te, the woman swings herself back onto the deck and gives you a glance over her shoulder before carefully examining a number of large crates packed near the bow."But the reality is far less awe inspiring, or worthy of envy for that matter. A proper smuggler is not only clever, but ambitious. They understand the workings of the economy and the simplicity of supply and demand. They never truly haggle and never accept anything less than the very best from both their product and their contacts. And most importantly," Lana smirks and catches your eye with her golden gaze, visibly critiquing every ilm of your person. "They are never caught, under any circumstances. Whether you able to avoid the eye of authority entirely, can offer exemplary bribes, or are willing to resort to more unsavory tactics to keep your privacy, this is the single tenet you must swear yourself to." The deck below you creaks as the ship rocks slightly and the Keeper turns her face towards the moon. She reaches into a pack strapped to her side and a silence passes between the two of you as she pulls out a metal case that's revealed to be holding cigarettes. "Though I suppose now you really have no choice, do you?" She muses before placing a cigarette between her lips. Even in the darkness, her lipstick can be seen smudged against the rolled paper. "Should I hear one word about you discussing this little business trip of ours," Again, her eyes meet yours with a humored grin and she takes a step forward whilst holding out the case towards you. "I would be obligated to follow my own rules." --- About the character: Volana Rhouzan, or Lana, as she prefers, is best known as the proprietor of Rhouzan's Imports and Exotic Fineries, a business that's name speaks for itself. Rather than owning an actual establishment or setting up a stand in a market, Lana prefers to gain customers through word of mouth and see that all her mercantile affairs are handled on an intimate basis, often taking orders from and delivering her goods to clients personally. There is a practicality to her discretion of course, for both herself and her clientele. While Lana's business does cater to those with legitimate needs and desires, some within Eorzea's underworld would recognize it as a front. Having used previous connections from her younger years as a mercenary, this Keeper was able to establish herself as a respected and efficient smuggler, using her reach to secure a variety of illicit goods. Be it priceless relics, narcotics, stolen jewelry, or even the rare piece of Garlean technology, Lana is as willing as she is able to get her hands on it, be it for the right price. While her temperament is relaxed and well-humored, those who have worked with her before have noticed that she has few boundaries when it comes to closing a contract. When not lurking beneath street lights or attempting to play a master thief, Lana is outgoing, level-headed, and curious. She finds it easy to make friends and enjoys people watching in general, always hoping to find someone more interesting than the last she's spoken to. She is undoubtedly ambitious and enjoys challenges, assuming it's not something that would upset her hair or sully her clothes. While it's clear gil seems to be the only concern guiding her life, she makes no attempt to celebrate her wealth and is more than content to live aboard her cutter as it drifts from port to port. A heavily scarred and lovable rogue with a passion for whiskey, sailing, and star gazing, Volana Rhouzan will either be someone's cup of tea or their stein of soured ale. About the player: Hello! My name is Rachel and I'm a 23 (24 in a few days!) year old female living in Texas. I've been RPing for about 11 years and actually have a bit of experience here on FFXIV before having taken a hiatus about a year ago. I've actually switched from the PS4 to the PC, so as I'm trying to relearn my classes, I'm filling a lot of my free time with some hella RP. I'm usually on in the afternoons and late evenings, so give me a poke if you see me around! What I'm looking for: I am so hesitant to say crime-oriented plots because, let's be honest, there is an abundance of edgelords in any RPC. Sociopathic monsters who kick puppies and murder children bore me and they're exhausting to play with, especially when said traits are not part of any sort of character development. Characters who are Chaotic Evil bore me. Acting as if there are no consequences to worry about in regards to murder/kidnapping/some world changing act of terror bores me. Characters who kill simply for the thrill of it bore me. This is not to say that using some of these traits will completely turn me off, but I honestly cannot that people who do it "just cuzzz". Give me conflict, give me characters whose morals are in flux or pushed to the limits due to previous life events. Give me broken characters. Give me irredeemable characters who are close to or have gone over the edge (just not with the actual edges sculpted onto them plsthx). Criminals do not form on their own, fam. Love yourselves. tl;dr Crime RP <3 | Crime RP with edgelords 3 I'm also looking for plots of a more personal matter; forming relationships between characters that leads towards trust or hate, plots between them evolving naturally as opposed to being forced, character's pasts intertwining to further current events. Give me angst, fluff, and hijinks and I'm happy. While I do enjoy sending Lana out to taverns or giving her a day at and the beach or hot springs, heavy plots 100% my jam. Possible connections: Connections from Lana's distant past are a little tricky because of her personal plot/character arc, but for anyone who'd be down for some spoilers and dedicated to sharing their plots with her and and vice versa, go ahead and ask me about it! What I can tell you is that she grew up a street rat in Limsa and was forced to leave at the age of thirteen. As I briefly mentioned earlier, she did run with a mercenary company, though most might not consider using that specific term for a group of amoral bandits and thugs. Anything more than that would need to be worked out over PMs, just let me know if you're interested! More recent contacts are pretty easy to form. Whether your character is a merchant who's seen or worked with her on legitimate business, a seafaring sort of any kind, an illicit contact who's used her services, or simply one who frequents taverns, tournaments, or brothels, they've probably seen my girl around. I'm always up for spontaneous RP on the spot but if you'd like to plan something more detailed, tell me! Contact: If I haven't managed to lose you so far, I hope I've impressed you just a tiny bit. It's a little hard to keep track of multiple /tells in game, so I'd prefer it if you sent me a PM here if you're interested in getting our kiddos together or have any questions. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you! If I didn't catch your eye, I hope you find some quality RP soon. <3

The trouble with rumors is discerning the difference between those that are tinged with truth, and those that are not. Whispers in the Drowning Wench mention a sudden surplus in bodies found under the docks. The merchant who had worked the markets for years, the baker’s wife who had never hurt a soul, the Yellow Jacket who had been snooping around back alleys; all are said to be among those found but with the condition of the corpses, no one can be sure. Some of the Wood Wailers can be heard slurring out curiosities as they leave The Bobbing Cork. There are new drugs on the market, like nothing they’ve ever seen. How they’ve reached so many hands so quickly remains a mystery and one has to wonder why some of those in law enforcement have not worked harder to extinguish the problem. In Ul’dah, gossip has spread regarding a diverse band of individuals wandering off into the desert and returning with one or two missing from their original group. Yet, when such tales are questioned, very few can say they’ve actually witnessed the phenomenon. Regardless of the lack of evidence, the stories continue to be retold, each version varying and holding their own morbid twist as to what might be behind them. The trouble with rumors is discerning the difference between those that are tinged with truth and those that are not. Which will you believe? What is Odin’s Avarice? OOC, Odin’s Avarice (name pending, fingers crossed for the next patch!) is a mature, heavy roleplaying free company on FFXIV’s Balmung sever filled with friendly, fun, and passionate players. IC, Odin’s Avarice is an Eorzean crime syndicate with its hands in just about every type of criminal activity there is. Smuggling, extortion, intrigue, illicit research and more, the group has made a name for itself by being ruthless, efficient, and discreet. Run by its matron, criminal kingpin and respected merchant Luha Dalaan, the organization consists of four branches; Helm, focused on research and technology development; Sword, muscle used in extortion, racketeering, and escorts; Cloak, involved in smuggling, substance distribution, and thievery; Tension, involved in subterfuge, assassinations, and information. Each branch is overseen by one of the matron’s handpicked advisors, loyal and trusted confidants who have proven their strength and dependability. As of now, there are only two, Eva Cassel and Casey Blackwater who lead Helm and Sword respectively. With their numbers ever growing, Avarice is slowly forming a strangle hold on Eorzea’s underground and have no intentions on halting their efforts any time soon. What are you looking for in terms of members? As our theme might suggest, we are looking for criminal types of all sorts to contribute to our experience. Smuggler? Great. Thief? Fantastic? Hit man? Cool beans. Any type of crime you can think of, Avarice is most likely interested. The Matron however does insist on not being involved in the slave trade or prostitution, her reasoning being that both are “too messy.” We are also seeking people to take over the Cloak and Tension branches, however to achieve that position players would have to work at it for a significant amount of time, IC and OOC. We want to be able to get along with our officers and feel comfortable enough around them to discuss major FC issues. OOC, we want to find people who are easy to get along with, fun, and willing to work in an inclusive group without causing drama. We also expect people to know that OOC problems should not cross over into IC and vice versa. How can I join? Joining is relatively easy! Submit an application in a PM to Luha or on our (extremely work in progress) tumblr and once we’ve read over and approved it, one of the officers will contact you either on here or IG. After that, there will be two interviews; one out of character and one in character. If it seems you’d be a good fit, we’ll send you an invite. At that point, you will be placed on a two week trial period where we’ll be evaluating your behavior, just to make sure we don’t run into any problems. After those two weeks, the officers will discuss where we see you going in the company and what you add to it, after which we will have the same conversation with you. If everything’s kosher by the end of it all, we’ll extend an invitation for you to stay with us and offer you an IC and OOC promotion. So, what kind of behavior are we watching for? Involvement and conduct, to put it simply. We need to see that you and your character fit in well with everyone and represent our company in an appropriate manner. Is there a way to be involved with Odin’s Avarice without joining the company? Of course! We love having connections with other players, be they other criminal sorts, law enforcement, corrupt officials or merely people paid to pass gossip along. In fact, we even have an IC linkshell specifically for those in such positions which all are welcome to use to seek roleplay. Is there anything else I need to know? One of the most important things that we try to get across is that all ranks are decided based on IC interactions. Should your character prompt the officers to fire them or if your character quits, we will have to remove you from the FC. That’s not to say your character couldn’t join up again at a later date, or continue to interact with us, but it needs to be understood that this is how our company works. Beyond that, there are the obvious issues that need to be addressed. We will not tolerate bigotry in any form and will act as expected when it comes to dealing with it. One warning will be given and should it continue, you will be removed from the company. We expect you to treat both other members and outside players with respect and courtesy and for you to remember that with our tag over your head, you are representing all of us with your OOC actions. We cannot hold any IC actions against you, assuming they are not derived from meta gaming or personal attacks. Essentially, don’t be an ass OOC; feel free to be an ass IC, to an extent. If there are any other questions you have, feel free to ask here or with a tell to Luha Dalaan, Casey Blackwater, or Eva Cassel! We hope to hear from you. <3

Violence Erupts near Pearl Lane!
ambiguouslymoral replied to Warren Castille's topic in Tonberry's Lantern (IC)
Luha stares at the boy she had payed to read the paper for her, carefully listening to his words. The fact that the report was about a fight in Pearl Lane was what had caught her interest, though... There was no way it could have been the same as the other day, could it? Fights happened in Ul'dah all the time, the odds of it being the one she had been involved it were- Suddenly, she freezes as the boy utters the phrase 'gang of half naked girls'. "Oh shite." She swallows, but then furrows her brow and glares at the paper. "Oi, only two of us were half naked!" -
balmung [WIP] Slave Trafficking Plotline (Server Feud)
ambiguouslymoral replied to RebelWhispers's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hey there! This plot sounds super, super interesting. Luha's an information broker with ties all around Eorzea and has a very strict policy about not dealing with slavers. That siad, I'd imagine she'd still have plenty of leads on them that she'd be able to chase down. If the price is right, anyway. Let me know if you're interested! -
Thanks! If I ever catch you online, I'll take you up on that. Pfft, that's fantastic. I'd definitely be interested in working something out with a bounty hunter. Lucky for Luha, she doesn't carry any Garlean allegiance. I would definitely be interested! I like the idea of them knowing each other through the alchemy bit. I'll send you a PM in just a sec.

The Mqio’te before you seems amused by your presence, granting you a cavalier smile that is offset by the pipe she’s holding between her teeth. She doesn’t speak at first, instead letting her eyes wander over every inch of your person, visibly coming to some sort of decision. Finally, she meets your gaze. “I heard someone new had been asking about me, though I have to admit that you tracked me down a little faster than I had expected. Color me impressed.” She takes a long drag of sickly sweet smoke before releasing it in a sigh. “So, sweet thing, what is it I can do for you? I can offer you work, if you’re willing to involve yourself in the darker nature of my business. Maybe you’re seeking something within my private stock. If that’s the case, I’d be more than happy to consider your order, if you’re willing to offer me a down payment. Or perhaps you’re looking for information, could that be it? I should warn you now, my reservoir of knowledge is rather expensive, although I’m sure you’ve heard that from whomever referred you to me. But, if you’re here now, that would imply that money is of no issue. That, or you’ve grossly underestimated how much I charge for conversation.” She takes a step closer, tilting her head to one side and letting out a breath of smoke through her nose. “And yet, it could still be something else I have not guessed. Enlighten me; what wish would you have me grant?” About the character: Luha Dalaan is a 27 year old information broker and smuggler who has spent her life biting and clawing to get where she is today. An ex-mercenary, she now spends her time operating a vast network of “friends”, as she calls them, who feed her information and both expensive and illicit goods. If an item exists, she can find it. If a secret is whispered, she will likely hear of it. She considers herself the very best at what she does, though whether or not that’s true is more a matter of opinion. While she takes her business very seriously and can be quick to resort to unsavory means to reach her ends, socially she’s a relatively laid back person who enjoys drinks with strangers, story-telling, and gambling. To most, she is extremely friendly and easy to get along with (most of the time). You can read more about her on her unfinished wiki page here! About the player: My name is Rachel and I am 22 cis female living in Texas. I’m on most days and I pretty much always down for some good old fashioned roleplaying. Fair warning, though, I’m finishing up my last few quests to get to Ishgard, so until I mention otherwise, please no spoilers! I’ve been playing MMOs since around middle school but this is the first one I’ve become really invested it. My RP experience is about ten years, though in-game, it’s only been for the past month or so. Still, I like to think I’ve really gotten the hang of it. What I’m looking for: Most of Luha’s contacts as of now are NPCs. I’m hoping to expand that by having her interact with mercenaries, smugglers, thieves, corrupted lawmen, and any other unsavory sorts. I’d also love to have her find some clients, people who need her to look up information or find them some rare and/or illegal goods. What I’d really, really love though, would be for someone to work for her as a personal guard, whom she can bring along on hunts or to meetings. Her personal story is something I’d like to play through with someone, as well as playing through theirs, so if our characters can form a bond beyond business, that’d be fantastic. How your baby might know my baby: Luha grew up a street-rat in Limsa, so she could be a childhood friend to someone from a similar background. She ran with a ruthless mercenary band as a teenager, which brought her in contact with dozens of sell swords and employers. She’s well respected information broker and her name comes up in certain seedy circles. She also fought in Carteneau, so a few other soldier’s may recognize her. In a more vague sort of association, she spends a great deal of time in the Quicksand and Ul’dah’s back alleys, so she may have been spotted around there. What curls my toes: -Dark, gritty themes with totally inappropriate comic relief. -Angsty romance. -Angsty friendship. -Just angst in general, really. -Sibling-like bonds. -Roll-based combat. -Just being able to take a break and let our babies grab drinks or hit the beach. What grinds my gears: -Forcing relationships. If our characters don’t get along, leave it be. -ERP without plot and please, please, please ask me about it first. This isn’t something I like to just have sprung on me out of the blue. -Lack of communication. -Puns. …No, I’m totally kidding, I love puns. How to get started: You can leave a comment here, or preferably, send me a tell in-game. That’s Luha Dalaan on Balmung. I hope to hear from you!

Luha would definitely be a Manhattan Honeymoon. Sweet, but still burns going down.

Hi everyone! I'm Rachel and, as you might have guessed, I'm here to roleplay! Let me fill out this lovely template before getting into any details about myself, though. --MMORPG background Runescape was the first MMO I ever played and then I dabbled in a few free ones. I started playing WoW in high school and I just started FFXIV a few months back. --RP experience A lot. I started roleplaying when I was twelve and I've kept up with it for ten years. However, my experience is almost exclusively original plots and worlds. I've never roleplayed anything game based, let alone in a game. I'm still a little wet behind the ears, in the regard. *nervous sweating* --Character ideas/info Currently, I only have one character in mind, a miqo'te (such a rarity, I know) named Luha. I won't go into a lot here, seeing as there's a whole wiki for the sort of thing, but she's a snarky, freelance mercenary from Limsa. --How did you learn about the coalition? Google. It's a beautiful thing. --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Heavy, definitely. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) So, about me! Like, I said, I'm Rachel, I'm 22 years old, and I'm on Central Standard Time. I'm switching over to Balmung in a few days, probably just after the expansion comes out, and I'm hoping to find some people in interact with. I haven't been playing the game for long, but worry not! I've really sunk my teeth into the lore, so I'm definitely up to speed there. I've completely fallen in love with everything about Hydaelyn, so you can expect plenty of passion from me, as well as a willingness to learn anything I'm not not totally familiar with. Anyways, getting a bit long here, so that's about it. I hope I get a chance to work with some of you!
