Oh this is hard.. I guess Malrend has two themes, one for his usual self the one wandering the lands of Hydaelyn thin and one the philosopher in him. The Wanderer: The Philosopher: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjx8ye1T-V8 or This one would be Tremere's:
-
Apropos themes.. Kuja has the best personal theme of all the FF Villains.
-
Or we could just say... Kuja, if there is such a server (there'd better be, or I might smack someone) He had a flair for the theatrical, associating him with RP seems only natural.. When ignoring his more uuhm.. Flamboyant side.

I just hate alcohol.. I like some whiskeys, namely Jameson's and Laphroaig, yum. But I never have more than one or two of those. But I'm all up for putting some villages to the torch.

As long as I'm not forced to drink while visiting London, I'm all for it. I might be of Viking descent, but I don't need to drink to raid, rape and burn down things on English soil.

Catherine - New game from the Persona team
Mycroft replied to Dogberry's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
For those of you who haven't seen the first Catherine Trailer. Here's something to help you understand the video a bit better, written by the good folks of Andriasang.com: I am looking forward to this a lot.. I am a huge Megami Tensei and Persona fan, despite the relatively low popularity both have in Europe. However the I actually hadn't given the Twin Peaks relation any thought until you mentioned it Dogberry.. At least Igor isn't a dwarf who talks backwards.. Or it would be a total rip-off. -
I need the outfit that black-clad Miqo'te Archer is equipped with.. *drools*
-
Damn you Americans for getting Legendia and Abyss! .. Namco Bandai hates Europe for some reason.
-
I say we just stop accepting people, that would solve most problems.. Except maybe if your LS has very few members.

New FF14 Interview: What you hated in beta is here to stay
Mycroft replied to Aveline's topic in FFXIV News
I don't really understand the intention behind the 48 cooldown on guildleves except perhaps to promote more partying outside of them. Since I'm not part of the Beta I can't really comment on Mana regen nor the Retainer bazaar system.. But I'd like to try both out, no matter how screwed up it is. -
You invite a friend over to your house for the afternoon. Describe what your friend would see upon entering your home. Seeing as I don't have a true home, I'll describe how one of my makeshift shelters would look like. Upon entry the first thing you notice are stacks of paper everywhere, not neatly stacked on top of each other, but just thrown in a pile in an effort to save space with minimal effort. In one corner you see a large piece of linen on which in one end lie a pile of Dodo down, most likely used as a bed, in another corner there's a large opening at both ground level and in the top, both covered with flaps of linen to ward against the chill winds, next to and below these there is a fire pit around which there are several pots and jars each containing various stalks, leaves, roots and seeds as well as two larger pots containing salted meat. During the casual small-talk that ensues, your friend asks you if you have read any good books lately. How do you respond? The Web of Hydaelyn, written by a self-proclaimed prophet of Nymeia, it was quite fascinating in that it speculates upon how Nymeia herself has spun the web of Hydaelyn's fate and in it the fates of all intertwine to further her designs.. It depicts her as a vengeful diety..- etc. etc. Your friend eventually leaves, and you're still bored. Restless, you leave the house and set out for a walk. Describe the neighborhood you live in. It can be a desert, a forest, a valley, ocean-side and so on. Oh no! An orphan is in trouble! Down the street from where you stand, a small street urchin is being bullied by three larger youths. What do you do about it? It is sad that people feel the need to torture others, but they'll probably learn more from this experience if I leave them be compared to if I intervened. *walks past them, eyeing the youths with a mixture of disgust and empathy.* Adventure time! The next day, still restless, you decide that what you need is a good change of pace. How do you pack for your four-day road trip to Ishgard? I roll the Dodo down in the Linen cloth closing each end with some thin rope and strap it onto my bag containing mostly papers, quills, some ink and rations, mainly dried meat and a few potions. If I pass through unknown/hostile areas I equip a pair of heavy leather gloves donned with bone spikes tipped with silver on each knuckle. For the rest I have my heavy leather cloak to protect against the elements and a knobby walking stick. Along your journey, you spot some bandits waiting at a bridge across a wide but slow moving river up ahead of you. They haven't seen you yet. You need to cross the bridge to get to where you're going. How do you handle the situation? Trying avoid a confrontation I'd wait till nightfall hoping for them to take their business elsewhere, if not. I'd get to cross the cold waters of the river with less chance of being seen, once getting to the other bank I'd try to reach some relative safety on the opposite side of a hill, cliff, etc. and light a campfire as to dry my clothes. You have just arrived for the first time in a new big city. Where do you go first? One of two places, the library or the Alchemists' Guild. For being the 1,000th tourist to the city, you have been given a 6,000 gil voucher to spend as you like at the Ishgard Department Store (think FFXIV version of Macy's). What do you spend it on? Some books Creation theory and mythological artefacts, as well recipes on new concoctions of different kinds.. If there's anything left I'll spend it on some food, set up a stall to prepare it, and give it away to the hungry and poor. All of that shopping has made you deliriously hungry. What sort of food establishment do you seek out for lunch? My own, I'll only take just enough to sate my own hunger, so that there will be more left for the others Five months later and safely back at home, you realize the Winter Festival is approaching! What sort of present do you pick out for your mother (or nearest living relative, or closest friend)? A tiny wood carving I stumbled upon one night when seeking shelter in a cave for the night, it crudely resembles a Miqo'te on all fours bowing before something.

Ah yes, I know that.. I guess that by saying him, I kinda excluded the opposite.. I apologize. And I think that you can find some Female Hawke concept art somewhere.. At least I think I remember having seen some. Yeah I wasn't trying to correct you, just trying to get it out there that Hawke doesn't have to be a dude, in spite of what the trailer shows. I was really excited when the first Dragon Age had female characters that ran the gamut of interesting personalities, and furthermore you yourself could play the game without thinking "Oh right this was designed with a guy in mind.." Then with DA2 not only do they take out all the cool race options, they go back to highlighting that their hero is mister MANLY MAN but could also be a female.. if you're in to that.. Yeah, it is sad that they chose to take that route.. But a lot of fans wanted a "Commander Shepard" in Dragon Age so now they've created Hawke.. How that prevents them from giving players an elven or dwarven Hawke is beyond me.. Other than perhaps the lore behind the game making an elf or a dwarf unlikely to do whatever it takes to become the "Champion of Kirkwall".. Or maybe the extra amount of work it would take.

Yeah, I am sad to say that the Core isn't that RP friendly.. I've made sure to post a link to the RPC in every thread asking about RP unless someone had beaten me to it. Nevertheless good article, and great work Castiel. Your enthusiasm about this really shines through.
-
So wait.. You get that e-mailed to you once you've made your first character? Good to know, I need to make sure that I create Malrend first then. Wouldn't want to have my joke character to be the first.

I've known quite a lot of kids who actually behave while playing MMOs even more so if they like to RP, they were immature in real life, but knew not to cause drama online as it would hurt a lot more than it would do good.. It might be because I have faith in my students, but never the less. I believe that in the end, individuality should be taken into consideration, that means a lot of work of processing applications, but hey hard work pays. Instead I say let people join, if they turn out to be younger than 18, meaning that they lied their way in, base your on whether to kick them or not on their behaviour up to that point. Lying is bad btw.. Very much so.

I believe that the setting of Dragon Age 2 is in the "Free Marches" which is the continent north of Ferelden.. This time around conversations will be more like ME2 where the PC "Hawke" will actually have a voice and dialogue options will be shown on a wheel, unfortunately you won't be able to choose your race this time around. Here's what info there's on him right now: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Hawke

Aww.. I wanted to see that Qunari being torn apart. Ah well, if there's an ability that is even remotely similar in game.. I'll be glad.. Very, very glad.

Quick everyone, make extra accounts! Then we'll reach the 750 mark.

Ooh, nice.. I'll be ready to contribute a lot as well, when this Wiki is set up. Ah.. I have many fond memories of Virtueverse and PRIMUS DB. This is going to be a great way to promote RP in FFXIV as well.

Interesting.. But why add races that fare best as Jedi/Sith.. We all know that Smuggler is where it's at. Back on topic. While there isn't any exact date, I'm looking forward to Fallout Online like a child looks forward to Christmas. Post-apocalyptic settings (on Earth) make for great MMO material in my book.

Yeah, I should really read what I write.. But it's too late now.

I believe that they promised us a power set for Super-speed fighting, which is something I've always wanted to see. As for the Hard light powers, we can only hope.. The Gadgets, martial arts and such should be there from the get-go though. I want to like Dragon Ball Online, because it seems like they've taken it seriously.. But I must say that I'll most likely only pick it up if I lack anything else to play.. Which is unlikely.
