I think I know you miss *smiles* The event will be happening on Gilgamesh unfortunately. So perhaps starting one on Balmung will be a good idea.

Here's the thing. This race is not ours. It is SE's. They can do what they want with it. The Miqo'tes are being represented how they SHOULD be represented. It's lore that many of them are like that. Seekers are whores, pirates, bar-wenches, fishers, dancers, adventurers, yellow-jackets, Maelstrom recruits, and sisters in the desert. That is what they are. Something I've been seeing a lot lately has been the 'modifying' of a races' lore to suit peoples' tastes rather than working WITH the lore to create an interesting character. [[/u]u] Don't try to make it something else because you like how catgirls look and you don't like how SE made them. /endrant I have to agree with this statement of yours Aysun. Seeing this in many previous mmos *sighs*....yeah I'll shut up now.

Hmmm it currently 10 am est as I post this so that's about 3 hours now.

I totally totally agree with what you said about backstory and lore. If you know that you aren't the type to care about lore for your characters story and you don't want to look up anything on it. I also recommend not using what you would perceive as lore for your character. Meaning that there is absolutely nothing wrong with your character not knowing a damn thing about their culture icly. Too many times I've seen rpers who really don't care about lore try to push up on a lore abiding roleplayer and try to basically "shoot the shit" and rp with them and have a conversation about lore. Well look at it like this. As much as you may not want a lore Nazi bothering you with lore details, the "lore Nazi" does not want someone "pushing up on them" who doesn't have a clue about the lore of the race that they want to play. If you don't really care, then act like it icly too. A lot of lore abiding players really put in a lot of time care and details in their character that they wish to share with someone else, or even to teach someone else, its a bit immersion breaking when a person of the same said race does not have a clue about what they are talking about when it comes to lore in an ic conversation. It would be no different from your standard Tolkien elf who comes over, is colored green and has a conversation with Legolas about being from the moon. Now a true lore abiding roleplayer is going to look at Mr Green elf like they are insane, but some rpers will look at this as "what the hell man at least learn about your character's race". Now many would reply with the standard "so don't rp with them". I don't like doing this as I am not in this frame of mind. But keep in mind that just because its not important to -you- it doesn't mean that its not important to someone else. Especially when people want to really have a detailed character that represents the lore. If you don't know it or don't care its better to act like your character doesn't either and come up with a reason for it. Respect goes both ways *winks*. Want folk to respect your fifteen dollars and the right to play how you want? Respect theirs too.

The most popular hub at the moment on Gilgamesh seems to be the Bismark in Limsa Lominsa, you can also find rp in the Drowning Wench at various times of the day. Now we just have to get more rp in the other cities and areas. If anyone has a place please list them.

Why not roll a temporary Gilgamesh alt and come by and see the event yourself?

I'd honestly say Saturday is your best day out of the two. Friday most people work. I don't but Saturday you are going to draw a larger crowd at those times simply because Friday at that time is during non working hours in NA.

I've seen a few characters that break naming conventions. There is for instance a character named Latisha who works in one of the stores in either Limsa or Ul'dah. So while naming is for the most part followed, it isn't necessarily hard locked in. Hell Latisha certainly is not a European name by any stretch of the imagination.

I'd love some feedback on this one from our resident crafters and crafter guilds (BST, SA, etc etc) the date as soon as there are at least 20 active participants will be determined. This will be an absolute server wide rp event. My classic *Single's Mixers* will be making a return! Those who remember me from WoW and GW2 will remember these! I myself am a fan of romance roleplay and character matchmaking. I will be doing a Valentine's Day event for sure in Feb of next year! There has been suggestions recently about a storytelling rp session, please give me feedback on this one. I'd love to do it but I'd like to know the interest is there first. *Brand new event, Adventure roleplay* Yes, for the first time I will be making an attempt at Adventure roleplaying events. I am still unsure as far as how I will be tackling this but look forward to it. It may be a monster hunting event of some sort. Keep posted on this one! Wonderful we needed an event like this!

A wonderful article that covers many aspects of romantic rp. I consider myself pretty good at it and I used to teach impromptu rp classes in character in the various mmos I've played. I personally love romantic and sometimes even erotic rp as long as its based on the storyline at hand and I think great romantic rp that leads to erotic rp can be wonderful. Its not for everyone of course but with the right partner (or teacher) a sweeping romantic adult story can be absolutely fantastic. I even enjoy doing the weddings that come along with them. If anyone on Gilgamesh needs a wedding done in character I would gladly do it if I am able to be in the game the day of it. Trust me you won't be disappointed. I can do a damn good server event wedding. (once I get an alt to at least airship pass level I can also do it on Balmung, or at least be able to help with advice, places to do it, etc) Right now I would highly suggest the Bismark in Limsa Lominsa and Akpallu Falls in Gridania.
