The dwindling population and endangered status is due to the the carelessness shown by several Eorzeans as their multitude of ventures and adventures have lead to the recent destruction of the environment as well as injury of many Elezens in nature. Please, to save the Elezens, we just practice safe methods to preserve such elegant creatures. Also please watch where you are flying as well and try not to clip them with your airship wings. I would say that the spcial recognition, as someone said earlier, would be similar to that of animal whiskers to say the least. The way Au Ra hear with their horns is how they pick up and feel air vibrations in the air, since thats what sound is anyways. Which makes it easy to say that they can also feel differences in pressure and movement in the air as well. So it is possible to say that they can sense movement around them albiet not at a long distance but things close to them. They could probably also pin-point the location of a sound without much effort and where its coming from whereas the other races will have to readjust their orientation to do so. Thats how I see it anyways.

Pretty much this as I can tell. Lalafells are one of the most populous races in Eorzea ever since their migration and have contributed a lot not including the founding of Ul'dah (and its sister nation that now ceases to exist.). They all hold positions of power throughout the game and are treated by other NPC's as normal adults. They also hold all manner of jobs and duties including sailors, soldiers, farmers, politicians, merchants, etc. Lalafells should not be an odd sight for Eorzeans nor looked at as babies. ... Also my Lalafell is too of guilty sending a couple of thunders towards the direction of those who try to baby him, or man-handle him in such a way.

I had a problem about not being taken seriously, or that I shouldn't be participate in certain themes of rp when I initially started out at FF14 launch. Even my own friends I was rping with at the time had trouble takin b them seeiously. I decided to take a break since 2.1 and came back for the expansion. And I would say, I still meet some individuals that still think as such but I've also finally met people that do take him seriously now, especially when my main is a lalafell. It would depend on the crowd you end up joining along. Now I find him wanted for his skill set and heck, has even found some love outside of his own race. What I'll just say is. If you want to play a lalafell. Then play kne. There are plenty of people out there that see them as normal people, as they should be regarded as in Eorzea. If someone trolls you or bashes you rping a lalafell then just go ahead and move on till you find the rp people worth rping with.

I wouldn't say it was genetics or unique to the first dark knight. Remember that Dark Knight is simply a title since a dark knight just refers to a knight without allegiance or affiliation to a noble house or such. Think of it like Free Paladins. Though it appears that Dark Knight now extends to those taught the same art as the first dark knight was. I mean, every branch of magic starts somewhere right? And there's off-shoots of them as well. It just needs the appropriate introspection, meditation, and one's ability to manipulate/use the aether that naturally occurs in the world. I find Dark Knight magic similar (but not the same) to Thaumaturgy. Both uses the same basic principle of channeling one's internal aether then shaping it into a desired form though a dark knight's magic appears to be shaped by and formed to and by one's emotions. It just so happens that the first master originated from Ishgard (but when? Ishgard is 1000 years old) and that type of magic slowly became more widespread (though still secretive due to its destructive and questionable nature. Akin to how black magic is kept within a secret order of mages.).

Aww damn, I regret to say this but I'll have to bow out the Bard's Challenge with my lil bard-mage this time around. I can't make that one for sure. Should be able to make the pie and jousting one though. So cross out Zanzan Yanzan from the Bard's Challenge. But good luck to the others!

Oh I can't wait. Also, the event appears to be very long. Do we know when the actual competitions are happening, time-wise? I'd like to know when I could take an RP break in between events seeing as how I signed up for more than one

Punting Zanzan into the Blood Harvest!

I. Basic Info Characters: Zanzan Yanzan, Claude Duval, Hugo Boulderfist Primary character: Zanzan Yanzan (WIKI Here!) Linkshells: Shroudwolf Clan (RP allies and stuffs), Roll Eorzea (plots and stuffs) Free Company: Crimson Phoenix (OOC) II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I think I'd be around the medium spectrum but I can't really say for sure, it really depends! But I can say for sure is that I love RPing in this game since it's something I'll be doing all the time if I'm not running around doing my dailies and PvE and such. I'm also always interested in more RP plots and events as long as they're appropriate for my character and if I find the time for them. I also consider my RP pretty free-form, changing from more simple lines to descriptive paragraphs depending on the RP, whether its private, public, etc. and I also adapt to whoever I'm RPing with. Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't mind it. If it happens then it happens! Not all characters see eye to eye with one another and fights are bound to happen. Of course, I do pre-planned battles too. Though do be fair please. If you are fair and respectful then I will be fair to you. I have no problems with my character being beaten, especially in free-form, but only when its done within reason or is logical. (Don't fly or twirl in the air for 10 seconds before bringing your blade down then expect my character to take a hit. Thats just silly and predictable. Outplay my character, come on now!) But that doesn't mean I mind pre-planned outcomes. I also do rolls is fairness is a concern as well. As for injuries. Injuries are fine. It comes with conflict and combat. Though I would like to discuss ahead of time if there's going to be any permanent injuries that will surely affect my character's story. Also chance of death will definitely need to be discussed OOC. Views on IC romance: Romance can definitely bring some flare into character stories. Though, possibilities for any romances should happen organically for the most part and open communication should be there as well if the stories are going to be heavily affected. Also please keep the nasties in private chat, and I'll continue keeping mines in it too :thumbsup:. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I love both meeting new characters and also love having pre-planned relationships if they make sense. I am usually free and open to any potential formation of pre-existing relationships as long as it does not come into conflict with Zanzan's existing story as well as his family's. Views on lore: I try to follow the lore as closely as possible. But even with lore, people have different interpretations of it as well. As long as its not blatantly breaking lore or considered "out there", then I have no problems with a slight bend here or there. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say is obvious. For RP and appropiately designated if OOC. Linkshells will depend on the linkshell rules. I'm in some thats OOC, IC, and OOC/IC. I also use parties for OOC communication during RP or IC if its private. I treat /tells as OOC unless there's quotation marks. III. Oh man is it hard to find an appropiate VA for my Lalafell but he is one of the deeper-voiced Lalafells you'd find wandering around. Though what surprises people the most other than his deeper voice is that he's a pretty good singer. While not a traditional VA video, this is pretty much what I found for him as a singing voice and style sample that was closest to his in-game voice as close as possible. [video=youtube]
