  1. In the middle of the night, underneath clears skies accompanied by the brisk and cool La Noscean winds was what first appeared to be an abandoned hovel. Inside sat the Lalafell, Zanzan as he sat in front of an old and dusty desk with a quill in hand. In front of him lied his newest finished work; a book, pages written with words whose ink was still dark and fresh. A wide smile formed across his lips as he set down his quill to review what he had written during these passing suns... What tale did this teller of tales wish to tell now in this tale of his? Look upon his words and glimpse upon the story, a romanticized recalling of events of these past several moons... It told of the story of those wronged decades past, the dark deeds and actions done upon them that brought forth a recent shadow that enveloped the forest and skies of the Twelveswood. A demon came to be by suffering and pain, a demon whose dark powers can smother the light of the elementals themselves. It also told of a story of brave adventurers and people alike, and while numerous, their hearts held true all the same; to rid of this shadow before it would take the lives of many and to see that their home remains safe. To fight back the fate born from the consequences of the past. There were recollections of the tireless battles that were fought. Both against the dark minions that spewed out from the shadow... and those within their own hearts as both relationships and beliefs were shaken. In the end, the heroes came out triumphant. Dreams and destinies fulfilled as their actions are to remembered by the stars above. The shadow was finally beaten back. It was a hard fought victory yet one that the elementals themselves will never forget. It is a grand tale which was hard to believe if one were not present for this ordeal, a fate many would find fortunate. But let's not forget the lesson which this tale spoke of. To rid the world of the acts of dark minds and dark hearts lest they wish to consume everything once more in shadow. A foreboding message only to be lightened by the acts of heroes, their fates weaved together by the love of their homes... Zanzan picked up his quill once more before flipping towards the front page. He remains still, deep in thought before his writing gave birth to the title of his tale. "Crimes Against Nature." He lets out a deep sigh, closing the book as he set his a tired gaze towards the bed in which his lover laid with a snoozing red panda. He smiles softly only to have something stir in his heart. He would exit from the hovel and instead wished for the comfort of the stars this night.
  2. I'll sign Zanzan up for this. He would personally like to see and help end all this void nonsense and would maybe give some insight to things. While he may not know how this tale would finally end, he looks forward to finding out the best ending for this one.
  3. GOOD LUCK to those participating in taking down the main baddy. LET'S PUT AN END TO THIS CRIME AGAINST NATURE... EYYYY
  4. Zanzan Yanzan: Angsty teenager prone to emotional breakdowns nearly kills himself with fire because his sister was better at everything. Later becomes a poet and fanfic writer to impress girls. Claude Duval: Father killed in a dragon drive-by while on duty. Now works in the Dragoon division of the Ishgard Police Department to exact revenge and justice while protecting his nerdy brother from thugs in the next installment of Bad Boys. Iron Claw: Immortal Flames military man that belongs on the A-Team rather than an actual military force.
  5. The Night Before; In the Roost's Innroom Rushing back into his inn room, he'd slam the door behind him before slumping against it. An exhausted sigh escapes him. Bells and bells running around the entire city of Gridania in search for for clues behind Nihka's disappearance yet it bore little fruit save for a few items of interest he managed to obtain. He paced over and took a stand atop a chair before committing to his last attempt at work for the night; a letter addressed to Anstarra, R'shesha, Kiht, Leanne, Orrin, Reppu and Enju. And even Liadan seeing how she knew the inner workings of Gridania. "Greetings, Friends and Family! I certainly hope all of you have been working vigilantly on investigating the whereabouts of our dear friend, Nihka. While my personal investigations bore little fruit to the place where she is held, it has come to my attention that she must be being held in a prison meant for the Wailers worst criminals that they dub broken spears. However, I have no onze of clue where this place may be! So I do wish one of you may find out soon! Yet, even so, do not rush headlong into battle! For I have obtained three items that we may find some use for, but it must be given to the hand to someone with political authority and power, mayhaps the higher chain of command of the Wailers? Three forms of letters from Mother Miounee, Guildmaster Fufucha, and even E-Yumi-San himself that speaks highly of Nihka, asking for her release! Surely, no group in Gridania could ignore the word of a Padjal, yes? Pray aid me in these endeavors and we may save Nihka without spilling blood!" He lets out another heavy sigh before setting the quill down. He eyed the letters over and over again as thoughts and emotions spurred in his tired mind. "We will find you, Nihka. You will be safe..." He whispers quietly to himself before furrowing his brow intensely, "And if they had done anything to harm you... Then they will pay dearly and answer for their transgressions!" He'd yell out, slamming his fist against the table before setting out an aetherial burst of energy that nearly sent him falling off his chair as his papers were scattered about. He went wide-eyed and bewildered before grimacing in pain as if feeling the weight of a thousand ponze against his body. He curled up, gripping himself and the horn necklace he wore as he rocked himself back and forth. Aetherial wind blew around the room for a prolonged moment that felt like bells to him before it would subside as did his pain. He panted heavily as sweat barely began to form across his forehead before calming himself somewhat, ".......... I'm tired." He muttered softly.
  6. Something to note as well is that Yugiri was masked and hidden the way she was because, while I don't have the exact quite, people sometimes fear the the unfamiliar. Judging by this, Au Ra must have been a very rare sight and/or hid themselves from the majority of Eorzeans possibly due to their dragon-like/voidsent-like appearance. They also did not have a major enough reason to immigrate to Eorzea until the Garlean occupation.
  7. I'm open all days if I get prior notice beforehand. Still got three more weeks of break left!
  8. Signing up Zanzan Yanzan for The First and Forsaken Fahn and A-Tonic Warfare
  9. For a moment I was like, oh god, WHAT KIND OF THREAD IS THAT!? BABY HANDS ENTERS WHAT NOW!? Now I found out your name is literally Baby Hands. But seeing that confusion is now settled, welcome aboard!
  10. A Yearly Passing Fifth Umbral Moon, 1578 Along the coastline of La Noscea sat a secluded cove, its sandy and rocky beach barely illuminated by the passing of the moon's light above the cliff. A gentle and cool breeze swept in and out of it, fluttering the robes of three figures that stood by the water's edge. Their heterochromic eyes gazed out towards the dark horizon before one, with a small wooden boat in hand, stepped out towards the cold sea. His eyes peers down to the tiny craft, a warm smile growing across his lips as he looks over the stack of memorabilia; a year's worth of happiness. He would stare at it for a moment longer as he procures one more item, a small container of blue paint, before placing it into the boat. With a deep sigh, he rests it against the water's surface before giving a soft push that would set it off towards its long and unknown journey. Feelings and emotions filled the three as they began to deal with the memories that stirred in them: Zanzan Yanzan. He would continue to stand stalwartly and tall with his father's hat upon his head, his eyes set against the sea's horizon as he watches the craft itself across the gentle waves. In this moment, he would attempt to stay strong despite the tears that began to roll down his cheeks and the sorrow that quickly filled his heart. Yanyan Zanyan. She would rummage through her belongings before procuring her father's rustic harmonica. With her lips against the instrument, she would begin to play a song; one to celebrate a life lived, the ending of one then the beginning of the next. ((Song Reference: youtu.be/MduJjbcLSqE)) Ixion Quintox. It was difficult to look upon her and tell what she felt for her long-passed husband but her son and daughter knew. They knew the sky would weep for her and it did. Her aether stirred the darkening sky above as stormy clouds began to form and roll across the coast, covering both the moon and the stars as their reflections against the sea disappeared. A long moment would pass before it was time for the twins to tend to their mother and head back home... Away from the reminder of what the Calamity took from them. "I miss you, Pa..."
  11. ((While I'm listing it as a journal, it's more so a recollection of events and stories that's happened both in RP and in backstory. Since I didn't have anywhere else to post these, expect a mishmash of things!))
  12. I wanna simply play a merchant/crafter of sorts. Like a blacksmith or a carpenter but thats entirely their life profession. I have numerous characters that can fight in battles, big and small and have a lil' crafting skill to them. Characters I've always NPC'd but never created is a dedicated craftsman. While they can hold themselves up to a common thug or thief, they are nowhere near capable as all these stinkin' adventurers. I can see how that may appear boring and unexciting to many but I believe it opens up a lot of RP dynamic and opportunities with other players, especially with returning customers.
  13. Hah! The nerd's back! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, we're all nerds in here anyways.
  14. This. The only reason why I can confidently come to a conclusion why their style of aether channeling is different is because of the philosophies, traditions, doctrines that go into becoming a thaumaturge or conjurer. Not that one is more effective than the other. We're going into centuries of the, maybe a millennium or two of how long these schools have magic have been taught. It's well-defined and will take a lot to change the very foundation of their studies (for the majority).
  15. My understanding is that unless they explicitly mention it, it's not exactly canon, but by the same token, unless they explicitly write it out, it's not gone. ILl have to find it but they also stated that SWTOR was still technically canon but I don't recall where I read it. Revan didn't quite make it into the actual episode since he was cut out of it along the way during production, same with Bane. Because George Lucas. That isn't to say he's not canon though... yet. And its obvious Disney is picking out lore from the EU left and right, the most recent one is that they mentioned the Great Purge of Malachor when they explained the ancient jedi design of Kylo Ren's lightsaber. I find it kind of funny however, that George Lucas has been making a big fuss about regretting selling the IP recently, like "selling your children to slavers." Despite this, Disney has been more true to Star Wars along with their slow inclusion of EU stuff than George Lucas was.
  16. I look at aether as I do energy in the real world and I believe it is also explained in a similar way. There's a static amount of aether in the world. It is not added nor taken from the world when spells are cast, it merely takes on a new form which sooner or later is recycled back into the environment which may be reused by our own bodies (at least in regards to Thaumaturgy and Conjury). We should also note that both these schools of magic isn't just a style of channeling aether but each one also has different philosophical views of the world and how aether works. Both come in conflict with each other many times which have caused black mages/thaumaturges and white mages/conjurers to have bias to one school of magic than the other. So if we look at the conjury storyline, and how they said that channeling aether from oneself is destructive, they could also be indirectly bashing Thaumaturgy which we know cast all sorts of destructive magic.
  17. IMO I wouldn't say it sucked. And as someone else said before, you/we already own the cores games that is already pumped with additional content. DLC skins and vanity items? Well, that's all up to the playerbase to do with that, and we do know people can be vain sometimes. It seems to be a trend now, a trend that I see some positives from. For example: Halo 5. All map pack content and content-related DLC's are all free. And we're taking about a high-budget triple A-game here. How are they gonna make money? BOOSTER PACKS. That only affect the only non-competitive game mode in the game, as well as cosmetic appearances. These booster packs are still achieveable by simply playing the game. Real cash is there for those who have the money but don't have the time. Overwatch, a Blizzard game, has also announced that all maps and character releases will also be free. And I have no doubt that they'll implement some sort of cosmetic item shop to make some extra cash from the game. People like bling bling and flashiness. There have also been game releases I've been more than satisfied with. Fallout 4, Witcher 3, AC: Syndicate, etc etc. Personally, I hope that above trends continue with major games, especially for multiplayer games. Paid DLC content splits up the online community and does more harm than good and potentially the game will die out quickly. So why not make money from vanity instead? It doesn't harm the core content, and its completely optional.
  18. Here's to me having hope that it'll be a base price, going with industry standard for a game this size, $60 for the entire "season" of episodes. Similar to Telltale's games or Life is Strange (though in that, you can purchase each individual episode.)
  19. I think this game at least does justice to what was said. A FF7 . Its not a high definitive edition or just a FF7 with prettier graphics. It's a true remake in that sense. A remake that caters to a broader audience nowadays than the past did. A remake that will be known as part of SE's trademark seeing how they are progressing towards an action-based system for their games with FF15. (Also gaming technology wasn't advanced enough to make complex action games). I'm having hope for it atm. Also I would not use Pillar of Autumn and Shadowrun as comparisons to the same turn-based system that FF has used. They're in the style of western-style tactical turn-based games and IMO play completely different than japanese turn-based games that we see in bravely default or FF. Do not forget either, Japanese companies design their games to cater to what they may find successful in their loca demographic first before considering western audiences (at least, thats what I think.) Its why design philosophies for eastern games and western games are so different. You wouldn't use Shadow of Mordor to compare to the action combat of Kingdom hearts.
  20. How do I hold all these events!? Sadly, I may already have plans for atleast two of the three events scheduled so good luck for all those that are attending!
  21. Sorry, doesn't look like I'll be able to make it tonight. Family stuff going on so my attention will be extremely diverted!
