I don't plan on picking up RDM, mainly because, as Tyll'a is completely incapable of using magic, it really doesn't fit his character. That said, I expect to see a lot of RDMs in the dungeon queues!

Your wiki says that Mimifu lives in Gridania; is that correct? Although I don't see anything in your backstory that jumps out at me and says "this means Tyll'a could have met Mimifu", if I'm correct about her living in Gridania, maybe the two characters could meet by chance in the Shroud?

Alexei was indeed there a time after the Calamity and goes back there often(his job willing) as he does visit his tribe he just does live with them. So I'm pretty sure if you'd like to put something together that they crossed paths I'd be up for that! I'd definitely be up for that! Those five years were definitely the low point of Tyll'a's life (since his sister Ayu died at Carteneau and his mother Tyll was lost at sea shortly thereafter, he was dealing with depression at the time), and they are also a relatively undeveloped part of his backstory. So yes, it is absolutely possible that they crossed paths.

When was Alexei exploring La Noscea? I'm asking because Tyll'a was living in the La Noscea wilderness from shortly after the Calamity until he heard about the remembrance ceremony five years later. If the timing fits, maybe the two could have met?

Tyll'a is a former wanderer, having wandered La Noscea for five years, and an IC friend of Kasi's. Although he doesn't look back fondly on his time in the wilds, I would OOCly look forward to some RP!

Tyll'a definitely hates the Garleans - not just because of the general Garlean hate in Eorzea, but also because his sister died fighting them at Carteneau and he blames the Garleans for her death. That said, there have been things that have come up in RP that Tyll'a wouldn't even wish on the Garleans...

I was in the same boat you are, and what I ended up doing was retiring my old character and creating a new character with RP in mind. I hope that helps!

Well, if it is a native version, it may be fine to use 'magical' terms for it; although it is entirely optional. If a magitek device uses the same thing as Fire, it may be better just to call it Fire, especially if it is intended for use by Eorzeans who may not understand what all the Garlean technical terminology means. It is a native version; Tyll'a hates the Garleans (his sister died at Carteneau) and probably wouldn't use any Garlean technology. In other related stuff, I looked at the Allagan Scepter and decided that might be a better fit for what I have in mind.

That's why Tyll'a can use the magitek rod, but not actual magic. I'll have to look into what the Ironworks Magitek Rod looks like; it might be perfect for what I have in mind. Thanks!

My character, for reasons given in his backstory (which I really need to put on the wiki), cannot use magic. However, one of my FC mates' character made a magitech rod that allows him to, albeit very poorly, do some casting (which is entirely thanks to the magitech rod). Thus, I'm considering leveling THM/BLM; my question, however is this. Is there a weapon for either THM or BLM that would look like the magitech rod that my character has? After all, I don't want my character to be doing something that he can't do. Thanks!
